"I was doing some research online, found their site and decided to call them. The person I talked to was extremely knowledgeable and saved me tons of time narrowing my choices down. They showed me this I hadn't considered. Everything went great. Highly recommended. "
"Tried to purchase one of their lamp fixtures online but shipping charges were added. A banner near the top of the page said "Free Shipping on orders over $49", however, under the "Product Details" section of the page it clearly stated, "FREE SHIPPING ON THIS FIXTURE", "Ships FREE via UPS or FedEx Ground anywhere in the Contiguous USA."
Their service department was contacted and when it was pointed out that the web page clearly stated that there was free shipping on this fixture (singular) with no exceptions listed next to it, the agent said that the item only qualified for free shipping if the total was over $49. They refused to stand behind their own website's statement. Will not attempt to do further business with them."
"I purchased a Minka Aire ceiling fan from Hansen Wholesale about a year ago and had nothing but problems which ended up costing me hundreds of extra dollars despite Hansen Wholesale's "Complete Satisfaction" guarantee. The fan was on a high ceiling by a licensed electrician and would not work properly. I contacted Hansen who put me in touch with Minka Aire to troubleshoot the problem. Minka Aire immediately told me that the receiver was bad which made it seem as if it was a common problem. I had it installed by the electrician and it still did not work! Minka Aire then sent me a new remote control which did not fix the problem. I contacted Hansen Wholesale who said that they would replace the fan, and advised that Minka Aire told them to send the invoices and if the fan was found defective they would possibly refund the installation cost. They send a replacement fan that was changed by the electrician for over one hundred dollars. I was then told by Hansen Wholesale that the installation costs were denied by Minka and that i would have to contact them directly. I cannot believe that either of these companies would not stand behind their products. I would not recommend either of these companies. Unless you are an electrician and are willing to buy a tall ladder and risk breaking your neck how can they expect the average person to change the fan if it is defective. In my opinion Hansen "passed the buck" on this issue and Minka Aire would not support their customer. Very disappointing."

"I ordered a couple of outdoor lights from Hansen Wholesale. The website said the lights were available so I ordered on line. Two weeks later I had to call them and ask them the status of my order. The lights were discontinued and they no longer carried them. Hansen Wholesale never updated me. They didn't let me know that they were not going to fill my order. When I asked a Sales Rep if the manufacture had replace the light with a similar model. I was told that would be impossible to know. There are thousands of options and that I should call first before I make an order. This is just bad customer service. My response is that I will never order from them again. "
"I was hesitant to order from them after reading some of the reviews, but I decided to try and ordered by phone. Ordering by phone makes certain that you are getting everything that will work together (fan, light kit, shades). I ordered a Casablanca fan and almost everything came shipped directly from Casablanca. The fan was installed and worked perfectly. The hookup for the light kit was easy since the electrical wires are in a harness and just snap together. Unfortunately, I had one glass shade that came broken. One call to customer service and a new box (all four) shades were sent from Casablanca. Now I have three extra in case any are ever broken! Imagine my surprise when a week later I receive another box of four glass shades! I called to let them know about the error and was told that they didn't have a duplicate order in their system and that I could keep them and do whatever I wanted with them.
It was a great experience. Did everything go perfectly: no. When confronted with my problem they promptly fixed it and made me better off. After this experience I would definitely do business with them again and highly recommend them to anyone. Calling to place the order just helps guarantee that everything will work together. "
"I've now used Hansen twice, for 6 different fans. The first order for 3 fans was over a year ago. I came back to order again. Hansen seems to prefer completing orders by phone, and this seems to increase the likelihood of minimizing order errors. They have a wonderful selection of fans but details related to hanging rods, finishes, remotes, wall switches etc. can make the process potentially confusing. Completing the order with a call makes sense. They have great prices. Every fan came complete with all necessary parts or the modifications I required. The effort taken by my salesperson to ensure the order was accurate was reassuring. In the 1st order, Hansen was careful to let me know that stock was delayed from the manufacturer so delivery would be delayed. All other orders arrived withing several days, as promised. I couldn't be more pleased. I recommend Hansen's to friends."
"Purchased 8 Casa Blanca fans. 2 did not work. Sent wrong down rods. No support from Hansen to get the two bad fans replaced. It took two months and 5 service calls from Casa Blanca to get the two bad fans working. I was told by Casa Blanca and other dealers that Hansen should have exchanged the fans. At this point, I would avoid both Hansen and Casa Blanca. The only positive was the service person that Casa Blanca sent was very good."
"Should of came to this site before ordering. I ordered a ceiling fan. I unpack the box the day the electrician is here to run wiring and the remote control is missing from the box. I called and left a message with customer service this morning but still no response 6 hours later. Sales line always picks up but tells me they cannot help me.
You would think if they are charging a 30% restocking fee, as noted on the other reviews, that they could at least go through the box and verify everything is there before putting pack into inventory. I'll give them until early next week to get back to me. But, at this point, I would not order something from them in the future."
"BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! I hope anyone ordering from Hansen Wholesale reads this first! We ordered a fan that we thought would be perfect for our house. Order was placed and shipped out in a timely manner. When we received it we discovered that it was too large for our room so we called to get the instructions on how to return it. Everyone on the phone was polite and we packaged it up and were a bit shocked at how much the UPS shipping cost was to return - aprox $45. Not the company's fault - understood.
BUT... I nearly got sick to my stomach when I received the refund email. They had taken 30% for restocking the fan (15% to the manufacturer, 15% for Hansen). When I called to get the explanation, of course they said it is written on their website. However, what I WAS NOT told was that when I called to get the Return Authorization that if I wanted to, I could purchase a different fan and they would credit me the 30%. They told me this AFTER I called to rant about the poor refund policy. Unfortunately we had already bought a fan elsewhere. So we lost $168 plus the $45 in shipping costs.... SO, SO, SO, upset and disappointed.
They will not bend, they will not even give 1 penny back no matter how much you ask.
So buyers - make DARN SURE you like your product... the return policy is RIDICULOUS. Extremely disappointed with Hansen and basically threw about about $213 out the window. I am sick about it."

Ordering: one reviewer was not happy because she did not get the item she wanted, she go the itm she ordered.
When ordering you have to know what you are ordering and make sure you have the right part number. Their selection is very large and fans have many options for blade color, light kits etc. Each combination has a part number. If you give them the part number of a fan with silver blades and you wanted dark you will get the silver blades, which is what I did. The sales person repeaated the part number back to me several times and I confirmed it.
Returns
Because I ordered the wrong part number I got the wrong color blades. When I called to get the dark blades I was told I could not just return the blades for an exchange, I would need to return the fan and they would ship one out with dark blades. The salesperson then suggested that he could send me the dark blades for 1/2 price and no shiping cost. That would be cheaper then returning the fan for an exchange. I thought this was more than fair since it was my mistake.
IFyou do make a mistake in your order there is a 30% restocking fee, clearly indicated on the terms. "

"I wanted to find a place to write a good review for Hansen Wholesale and this looks like one where I can throw in my two cents.
I bought a fan last August and it was delivered on time. The reverse function stopped working and Casa Blanca could not service in my area so Hansen immediately sent me a new replacement. Unfortunately this one was defective out of the box. Hansen send a call tag had it picked up and credited my account and I ordered a different brand a Fanimation it was about $50 more but it is also a 72" vs the 56" I originally had, it was delivered on time and is a super fan it is solid state motor, super quiet and really easy to install and really cools the room"
"Called to get help and support for purchasing glass fireplace doors, which was encouraged on their website fireplacedoors.biz.
After a brief hold, a guy named Terry asked me what I wanted. I told him that I was looking for stock doors as promoted in several areas of their website. He blew off the reference to stock doors and told me that everything is now custom. When I indicated what was on their website, he talked over me and told me that I must be looking at an older "archived" page. He referred me to a stock product on their site (!) and I told him there were several still listed as stock items. He blew me off again. I asked him what the final price was for item we were discussing and he begrudgingly looked up the (list) price and gave it to me with the option that I had requested. End of experience. No thanks for their alleged support, pricing was worse than local shops and customer appreciation zilch."

I asked about the rest and was told three different things by three different people. The final truth was the part was backordered making the rest of the order useless.
