"If you know EXACTLY what you need/want, this company will likely be fine for you. DO NOT use this on-line mail order company, if you are not EXACTLY SURE that the product you are purchasing is what you need. I purchased two glass bowl covers for ceiling fans. I was not careful about my purchase, and I needed to return one of them. I had no problem getting a return authorization from the company. I went to mail the $30 item back to Fed Ex--cost would have been $49+, so naturally I kept the item for the lower $30 loss. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!"

"I wish I had come to resellerratings first because this store is committing highway robbery. I called in my order for ceiling fans and had a perfectly good experience with the person on the other end of the phone and my order was processed quickly. I also had no delays on getting my item, but when it arrived it just wasn't what I wanted. I found a better looking fan elsewhere. So I called them to ask for a return authorization and got prompt service. Everything sounds great right? Wrong!!! 30% restocking fee. WHERE IS THIS ON THEIR RETURN POLICY??? No where on their website. I've only had the item 1 week and you are going to charge me a 30% restocking fee!! The item is still sealed and essentially brand new and ready for them to resell. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE!!!"

"Ordered a tiffany shade replacement. Two weeks in nothing. Finally get ahold of a customer service rep. They never got the purchase order in and said that it was out of stock for another 6 to 8 weeks. WTF. The rude customer service rep told me my credit card was never charged which it was. Never again !!! These people are frauds and scam artists. Stay far away."

"I ordered from Hansen before I saw these reviews. I have to admit that this would have stopped me. But I ordered a set of gas logs for $1500. The man took my order over the phone and I recieved them freight in a few weeks. I had to meet the truck driver and load the logs on to a trailer so I could take them to my vacation home. When I got to my house I opened the crate and started carrying logs inside. I realized the burner system was missing. I called Hansen shortly after they closed. A lady answered and was helpful and tracked down the burner system and called me right back. The freight company delivered it the next day. I had a very positive experience with them despite what these other reviewers experienced. "

"PLEASE take the advice of those of us who bought from Hansen. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!! I ordered my Minke fan based on their claim that it was in-stock and would ship within 24 hours. Here I am 4 days later and customer service tells me the fan just came in on a truck and would go out tomorrow. This would be O.K except that I am remodeling my house and the contractor is here until Friday(today is Tuesday and I ordered it last Friday). I spoke with customer service to see if, due to the delay, they would send the fan overnight as a courtesy due to their misrepresentation of shipping times. This was in the hope that I would get it in time for installation. They refused. I then asked for 2 day and again they refused offering my only 3 day which hopefully will get to me by Friday. I've learned my lesson and will from now on read reviews FIRST before ordering from an on-line company. I quess cheaper ends up costing you in the end. BTW I just received a confirmation email today. They may have just processed my order."

"These are scam artists and liars. The website said that one outdoor light was in stock. I ordered it. They immediately put through the credit card amount (over $400) and sent out a receipt by email. I did not hear from them for 2 weeks. I finally called customer service who said they would call me back the following morning. They told me that there was no item in stock and that they would drop ship it from the manufacturer. Needless to say, they never called back. I called customer service the next day and was told that the item was discontinued and that there was not one in stock. Yet my credit card had been charged for an item that was unavailable and that they could not get. I believe that it is illegal in Texas to charge someone for a purchase until confirmation has been issued that the purchase is valid. I intend to look into this and call the state office for consumer protection. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. BAD NEWS. SCAM ARTISTS. Houston, Texas"

"DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THESE SCAM ARTISTS
I ordered a ceiling fan they claimed was "in stock"
Then they emailed me to say it would ship in two to three weeks.
I emailed AND called to cancel the order and they said they couldn't because the order had already been placed with the manufacturer.
I contacted my credit card - but they had already charged my account.
When the fan arrived three weeks later I had to contact them for an RMA - which they require be placed inside the box. So I had to open it to do as they instructed.
Now they claim they are owed a restocking fee of 30% because the box was opened.
THE FOLKS ARE SCAM ARTISTS STAY AWAY

"I wish I had seen this web page before I dealt with Hansen Wholesale. My complaint is almost identical to the other reviews. I have not seen the merchandise that was promised delivery over a week ago. I cannot get an email response, and Valerie, who was pleasant enough, did not have any answers for me. She didn't even have a tracking number AND it was during this phone call that I found out that the fan and light I had ordered was not even in stock. What really irks me is her unkept promise to email me information regarding the status of my order. This is Saturday, otherwise, I would be putting an immediate stop payment on my order. I do not understand how companies like this one stay in business"

"The website is misleading and not clear when products are not in stock at their warehouse. 7 business days later my fans have not arrived, and I do not have a tracking #. When I called last night to inquire and mentioned that their site was very misleading with claims of 'SHIPS IN 24 HOURS!', the rep was argumentative and kept saying if you read the fine print... Today I was advised my fans would arrive 'today or tomorrow' - but still no tracking info to back it up."

"I purchased a gas log set from Hansen. It has never worked. I have called their "customer service" many times. Usually I have to leave a message & get no callback. Based on absolutly awful customer service I would recommend NOT doing business with them"

"I bought two fans and the one was used! I called and told them and they said that it was just tested before they sent it out. You could clearly see that it was used and i started to complain and the lady hung up the phone on me. So you buy from them you are going to pay full price for a used item!!! They're going to make their money that's fosho!"

"I ordered 3 Minka Concept II fans from Hansen Wholesale. Two arrived, and then a week went by. I emailed HW for a tracking number for the missing 3rd fan. Valerie, Customer Service Manager, responded. The email contained no greeting, such as Dear Mr. ___. It was a one sentence email that said the third fan was out of stock, back-ordered, and would be shipped "mid next week".
I replied to Valerie, and made 4 points:
1. Don't sell items that are not in stock. Your website software should be more sophisiticated than that.
2. Alert the customer at least by the time of checkout that one or more items is out of stock.
3. Under the current system, at least send the customer an email to apologize and to inform that the missing item is on its way.
4. Website software should offer parcel tracking.

I received no reply from Valerie, who maybe should not be the Customer SERVICE Manager.

"I was pretty pleased with the service from these guys. I ordered an Emerson fan and a remote control switch panel from them. They drop-ship directly from the factory as opposed to maintaining their own warehouse. Delivery was prompt, items arrived in good condition, etc. Pricing on the fans I was looking at was eerily consistent between merchants making me think that manufacturers set minimum prices on these fans, but free shipping and no sales tax makes these guys appealing."

"I ordered the incorrect log set and had to return it. I should have read the return policy to know that I had to pay the return shipment of the logs. I also picked out the same logs but in a ventless version, the type that was recommended to me by the technician who will actually set up the logs in my 1790 home. It is hard to say what type of logs one will need until a technical assessment is done of the location. However, the customer service was not very customer-friendly. I will not order from this company again and wish them the best."
