"After considerable amount of research I chose to purchase 5 ceiling fans from Hansenwhole.com web site. They appear to have items I need and also the description of all fans and ratings of airflow making it easier to purchase a ceiling fan on line. I tried to purchase similar fans locally however they were charging me local tax, delivery charge, and a wait up to 2 weeks. It made me rethink of purchasing locally and ordering on line Instead of placing the order on line I decided to call their 1-800 phone number as they listed as Ask an expert. I called first time got a sales person name Paul. Very courteous sales person who navigated and helped me to choose variety of fans as I needed 5 of them to my newly built townhouse.
Brand names MinkaAire and Monte Carlo were the two fans recommended to me which I purchased. Order come to about $1001 and they were offering free shipping from CA. With in 10 days my order came and one of the down rods were in wrong color so my wife called back to their customer service and they replaced it with a correct pole with no problem. All of my fans were excellent. It took me nearly a day to install all of the fans as I have two high ceilings of 14 and 11ft. One of the fans I purchased for the master bed room was Marina by MinkaAire. This fan was recommended by Paul (sales) as a solid fan which is on sale for $299. The box was damaged a bit in shipping and when opened the white fan blades were rusted where the mounting blades screws get attached. This is a minor issue as no one can see this side the blades. I decided to assemble the fan. This was the heaviest of the fans weighing 45 lbs and that's the motor alone. Installation was easier and this fan also came with a remote and a light fixture. My problems began after installation of the fan. Every time I turned it on this fan would make a creaking noise. After careful examination it was obvious there's nothing wrong with the fan itself however due to it's weight of the fan it would makes an unpleasant sound from the ceiling connector assembly. This fan assembly says it's geared for outdoor. After listening to the unpleasant noise it was obvious this fan is a poor choice for the master bed room. Who wants to sleep while hearing the deck noises of Pirates of the Carri bean? Fan was recommended by Paul the sales person and I expected him to take care of my problem fan. I called next day to get a replacement. Paul connected me with customer service person named Valerie. After a lengthy conversation she called me back to let me know that fan has been installed and they would not accept returns on the fans if its installed. I told her that I do not want a return, simply an exchange for another fan that would fulfill my needs. She declined to offer me a RMA and I insisted to speak to her superior. Her superior was the vice president of the company a person named Andrea. Same conversation after significant length of time she told me that they are not going to be able to accept the fan as it was installed. My notion is that if the fan not was installed there is no way of knowing it is not going to be suitable. I was told that in their return policy (in fine print) indicates they do not accept fans that have been installed. Did I ask Paul about return policy when ordering. Yes I did order items he told me if there's a problem customer service would take care of it. Now that I have problem with a one fan they are refusing to get my issue resolved. This is incredibly poor customer service. I was recommended an item and the item for whatever the reason doesn't work for us, now the company who sold it to me doesn't want to offer any type a customer service on the item. They were not willing to offer me any customer service regarding an exchange. As matter of fact Vice president of the company said that there's nothing they can offer and the decision is final. I indicated that I will be letting my credit card company know my my dissatisfaction of the purchase. She told me to go ahead and dispute the charge that they would prevail. Now I have a $300 fan in a box sitting in the garage. I have emailed them my unpleasant experience however no response. I am not a novice at purchasing items on line. I have been purchasing items on line since 1995 or earlier This is the first time I have had a incredibly poor customer experience from a company that claims they have been in the business since 90s. Had they made a simple exchange imagine what customer experience would be? I had had few new neighbors move in to the area we are living and looking to do install fans in their units. Guess what I am going to say about Hansenwhole.com? It's a such a sad thing to see some re-sellers want to just to sell a product or service yet don't want to get involve if that experience becomes unpleasant.
