"I received my HIFI Sound gateway and harness in two days--the representative at HIFI sound provided me with excellent service as i had ordered the gateway very late in the day and ensured that the device was shipped that evening--great service! I received it two days later! I purchsed this gateway for my 2005 Acura TL.

How good is this item? Prior to purchasing the PXAMG gateway, I was using a cassette adaptor kit to connect my IPod through the TL's existing stereo system and it sounded pretty good. However, once I got the PXAMG installed, the difference in sound quality, to say the least, was astounding. The PXAMG provides a direct connection to the TL's stereo and I found I had far better deeper base, treble and overall sound quality with the PXAMG. It made a HUGE difference. It sounds GREAT! I can control my IPOD via the existing TL's stereo controls as well as the steering wheel volume control and channel controls step through music tracks perfectly. It works perfectly! For the $129 that I paid for the PXAMG, it was worth every penny and it was far less expensive to the alternative which was to replace the existing TL stereo with an aftermarket stereo, rewire the speakers etc--and this option would have meant that my existing steering wheel volume controls would not have worked with a new aftermarket stereo alternative.

If you're going to install this system in an Acura TL, you should be aware that it is a bit tricky to get to the back of the existing stereo unit to make the connections to the PXAMG. If you are not familiar with what is involved in removing the necessary trim and panels to access the stereo head unit (which I am not) then you need to be mechanically inclined to perform this procedure (which I am). If you are not willing to do the installation yourself, I suggest you take the car to the dealer and have them professionally install it. However, I did the installation myself with the help of some YOU TUBE videos that showed how to remove the various panels. I removed only the absolute minimum of panels and trim and it only took about 2 hrs to do that--re-installing the panels and trim was a lot quicker. I'm sure the dealership could do that in half the time that it took me to do it. Once I got to the back of the stereo unit, I simply inserted the wiring harness as per the easy to follow instructions from HIFI Sound and powered it up. It worked perfectly immediately and I had absolutely no problems. On the TL, I was able to easily route the IPOD cable to the upper cubby located under the stereo (instead of running the cable to the glovebox). It was a seamless installation.

I heartily recommend this product. It does exactly what HIFI Sound says it will do, and, in fact, worked better than I thought it would. I can now control the IPOD from the existing TL stereo and all other fucntions (volume control, channel control) work flawlessly. This unit truly exceeded my expectations."
