"Purchased item on March 27th. On April 7th I had not received the item so I checked for tracking information on their website. The tracking info was blank so I sent an email request asking for tracking numbers and carrier. I received an email response on 4/9 stating that the merchandise would be shipped "early the following week" and to please be patient. TWO WEEKS after purchase they still had not bothered to ship my item? Order was canceled and request for refund sent. I'll purchase a similar item locally thank you. Do NOT recommend this company due to slow shipping. "
"I purchased the PX-1 Power Pet Door and was so pleased, until the collar sensor stopped working after 2 months. It also works only a few inches away from the door and at certain angles - no matter the setting on the door, which seems to be a gimmick. The door itself is great so far. My dogs love it and now go in and out much more often. I love the energy efficiency and the fact that no animal or anything else without the sensor can come in the house. It is well sealed and keeps the elements and cold/heat out much better than a regular pet door. When the collar stopped working I had to revert to the interior door that has a flap type dog door installed and leave the exterior door open that has the power door in it. (this would not work for people with one door that leads directly to the house!) I had no extra colar sensors. I now have purchased four more sensor collars (Sam's Club Online - much better prices) so that I have extras (two dogs). I love the concept and the door enough to put up with the collar. If they could perfect the collar sensors, they would have a GREAT hit. Right now it is not a 100% reliable product, there is a point when the dog(s) will probably be shut in or out of the house - not a big deal where I live in the very moderate temperate climate of the SF Bay area and I have a covered patio behind the pet door, but for really cold or hot climates, it would make me a bit nervous. This is probably the reality of any type of electric dog door with a sensor or magnet. Overall I would say the benefits and ease of use of the door outweigh the negative of the collar sensor issues. UPDATE: June 2008 - I have now had the new sensors for 6 months and they are still working perfectly - love the door and now love the sensors. My boys are very happy and absolutiely love this door and the freedom it gives them."
"I ordered a High Tech Pet Large Electronic Pet door from PetSmart.com. Within 1 year I have had 3 doors replacement because the doors stop working after a few months. PetSmart is refunding my money because I do not feel the need to try a 4th High Tech Pet door after 3 did not work properly. My problem is this is not a item you can just get a refund for and financially be made whole again.
I am still stuck with a huge hole in the side of my house."
"I bought the Power Pet door from High Tech Pet Store several months ago. The product is simply wonderful. We received it in record time. It was very easy to install. It works like a charm and our dogs are crazy about it. No problems in rain, wind or cold. The insulation factor of the power pet door is great. It's air tight even in heavy wind. It has also survived half a dozen torrential rainstorms without any problems. Most impressive of all Lady and Tramp our extremely precocious labs have not been able to damage it and believe me they've tried. Great product, great delivery, great customer service. "I've ordered both the high tech pet door and and extra collar. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the product and can't imagine being without it. My dog refused to use other types of doors, but he seems to actually enjoy this one - he shows off when people visit!
My order delivery on the door was a bit slower than I expected, but the door had recently shown on HGTV and I'm sure they were deluged with orders. When I ordered a pet collar, it came right away. I also notified them that my first pet collar had broken and they shipped a replacement right away.

"I purchased my 2nd Terminator 2 Bark collar for a cattle dog that was born deaf. Originally the first one malfuntioned. They sent the replacement with no problem. It worked great until my rottie was playing to ruff and distroyed it, but not before it did it's job. He quite barking all the time. Since then he started up again.
