So I called the 800 number several times could not even leave a voice message, it was full! They say they have a full staff manning the phones a full staff of one! They told me what I had ordered was not in stock after website says it is......hmmm so I cancelled charges are pending on my card but I called my credit card company and they answered the phone and said don't worry Sir there is a $0 dollar liability for FRAUD they will handle it! The rep did not even try to make an attempt to correct the issue. I have made numerous purchases in the past with good success but it looks like this will be my companies last. "HORRIBLE customer service and experience. I purchased a turntable coffin and laptop stand using their "site wide" 15% off discount. I then received an email that I had to contact them regarding my purchase. When I called they stated I could not use the 15% discount because the coffin was already listed at too low price. WHAT?!?!?!? Their idea of "fixing" this was to charge me what I had paid for BOTH items but ONLY send me the turntable coffin. Yeah, that would be very convenient... for THEM! I called and called and called...finally got a young man who did not seem to know if he worked there or not...could have been a pizza boy for as helpful as he was....was told the manager would have to call me back in 15 minutes. I left my number. No callback. I tried calling again, and then got an email informing me that the product was discontinued...I looked online....they still carried it, but it now had a new product number and a higher price. I found it, still for sale else where online..obviously NOT discontinued! I sent several emails spaced out over several days. NO RESPONSE. They even cancelled my order for me without contacting me. How very kind of them!

"My family owned the World Famous Century Club for 14 years and I was first introduced to Hollywood DJ and the owner Allen about 12 years ago in the year 2000. At that time my sound engineer for my nightclub had always been shopping there for he always found the rock bottom best prices there and for the fact that the staff was always super cool and friendly. If we ever had problems with something or simply tried something and didn't like it then Hollywood DJ would take back the item no problem and no questions asked. Once I made the connection with Hollywood DJ we ended up switching all of our business to Hollywood DJ for no one could give us better service or beat the prices, not to mention they would always be up to date with the latest stuff. Not even super stores such as Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Best Buy or online stores could beat Hollywood DJ's costs! If anyone would ever find a cheaper deal Hollywood DJ would beat that price by a long shot. I've had friends rant and rave about how cheap they would score something for and then I would contact or go on Hollywood DJ's website and sure enough it would be cheaper there then my friends would be converted. After closing Century Club in 2007 I went into business starting another nightclub called Tatou in downtown LA and sure enough Hollywood DJ continued to supply me with all my necessary sound, lighting, wiring etc as well as continuing to beat everyones prices from around the world, since I would always search the internet and would try to prove Hollywood Dj wrong. Unfortunately the new nightclub only lasted 3 years but then after that being a very small fish now and not being able to buy loads of things for the nightclub as before, I still continue to get the best deals ever. There was even times where I thought I was getting a good deal somewhere then I would check at Hollywood DJ and sure enough I could have saved money. There have been times I have just sent people there without mentioning they are my friends or without asking for the owner and they still beat everyones prices. I think the only thing I can find wrong about Hollywood DJ is the fact that they are deep in downtown and some people don't want to go out of their way to go down there but then again all the best deals are found in downtown LA, if you don't want to go there then simply order online. Put it like this if you want to spend more money on things and deal with unprofessional people then go shop at the large chain stores in the nice parts of town and go spend more, but in all seriousness Hollywood DJ have been in business forever and their crew there are the most knowledgeable people I know in the business, I sometimes learn new things when I go there and talk to the staff. They stay up to date on the latest products and even attend the NAMM show each year just to stay on top of their game. I thought I had the best mixer the Allen & Heath Xone 92, then one day I go to the shop and see the Allen & Heath DB4 and sure enough they hooked it up for me at an incredibly cheap price when I thought I would never be able to afford it! So if you ever see negative comments about Hollywood DJ, maybe think for a second where these comments are coming from, maybe they are coming from the competition under fake aliases since Hollywood DJ kills the competition. I have nothing to hide and will tell everyone my businesses and who I am and trust I will never ever shop anywhere other than with Allen at Hollywood DJ, I will never shop at the big chains again. Don't believe me well go make a purchase with them or check them out.

"I was looking for some Karaoke software for a Christmas present, and came across the website for Hollywood DJ.
Now upon further research, I understand that what I purchased was old software, that was my fault.
What I received however wasn’t.
What I received was a box of old software that had been previously purchased at Comp USA. It still had the sticker on it from them. Not only that, but the box was open as well.
I had spent $100 on this, and as I said it was to be a Christmas present.
So of course I called to speak with someone about it. The first time I called, I was told the gentleman I needed to talk to was busy, and they took my number to call me back when he was finished. I waited a few hours and never got a call back, so I phoned them again.
He immediately knew who I was, and my problem. (I’m assuming the person I talked to before gave him the rundown.)
He told me I could not return it because they had no way of knowing if I had used the activation code. And they do not take returns on software. I argued that the box was open when I received it. So how do I know it hasn’t been used myself? I was assured many times that it would work. I still don’t know, because I never gave it as the present. I still have it and have never tried it.
What it boils down to, is I was sold an old piece of software that had been purchased somewhere else, and somewhere along the line had been opened before it got to me. I was never able to resolve this to my satisfaction with them.
I expected a new, unused, unopened item.
What I got was an old, resold, and open box.
I will never do business with them again, and I suggest you make sure you know what you are getting from them if you do.
It won't allow me to pick zero stars or I would."
