"I would like to read about a professional before they call me. After I read reviews etc in Home Advisors site than commit to a professional calling me."
"It was easy, fast and effective. My project was completed within 24 hours."
"It was easy and we loved who we got!"
"I spent many months with several phone calls trying to complete requirements for $50 reward promised with 3 projects. Finally, Representative told me several months ago it was complete and check would arrive in 6 weeks. It never happened. E-mail today shows projects waiting for confirmation. Not sure I will do this again. Most frustrating that no one seems able to get this done!"
"I would have liked to see all pros so I could compare them"
"Set up an appointment, contactor called and said that time and day would not work. He didn't ask me but rather he told me when he could come by. My wife took another day off work to meet with him and he didn't call, email, text or try to contact us any other way and never showed up. Days later, he still does not return my calls.
Being a contractor myself, I know first hand that Home Advisor does not do any type of vetting or checking up on a contractor except to get a fee from them for being part of their service.
They call a contractor under false pretenses to get a contractor to work with them. they start by saying..."I have several jobs in your area and need a good contractor to do the work, can you do them?" Of course a contractor will say.."great, what is the information on the jobs?" Thats when they go into their sales pitch about Home Advisor. Any contractor that says yes to the rates is now one of their "highly prectigious" contractors. When the contractor really has terrible reviews, has poor customer service and a bad work ethic.
So be really careful when choosing a contractor from Home Advisor.
My advice is to get names from the internet in your area for that service then research them with the State to veryfy they are current on their licenses, employment taxes paid and have no leins or court complaints agains them. then go to Yelp and check out them there."
"So far I have found a roofing company to give me a bid on my roof and a handyman who is going to give me a bid on small jobs. I have already had service from an air conditioning company. Seems like this is working good for me."
"Great— it makes finding dependable contractors easy."
"Bummer could not find s contractors in the area"
"Contacter are too expensive compare to local one,"
"Found quickly what I needed on site."
"I’m so angry that we were completely overcharged and that my husband was completely taken advantage of."
"Very pleased. So far twice I have found competent, prompt repair of problems"
"quick access to services in my area"
"WonderfulOnly information not available would have been minimum chargeOne contractor called and gave me a walk in fee of $149I got the work done for $75"
