"I was looking for the ideal Christmas present for me wife, when i came accross the Aerogarden. What a pleasure this company was to deal with. They shipped this order within 24 hours and i had the garden right on time for Christmas. My wife and i plan on redecorating our kitchen soon rest assured homeannex we will be back."

"Response to enokij and other Home Annex store raters:

I'm sorry this is such a long email, but hope you'll take the time to read it over. I have had a similar experience with Home Annex, and I have discovered a huge number of negative opinions on various rating sites. I received the several small items I ordered right away, but the larger items in the same order, and others in two subsequent orders have gone into the Home Annex black hole, I guess. There is about $1000 in merchandise I have yet to receive and I have received no status updates whatsoever.

I am proposing a joint action. I will be contacting the Brooklyn District Attorney's office this week if I don't get a satisfactory answer from Home Annex by tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. I encourage you to contact the DA as well. No other honest buyer should have to go through such a hassle over what should be a straightforward transaction. And a simple online purchase shouldn't linger unresolved for months with no explanation. It's been 12 weeks for me and there has been no response to repeated emails and phone calls.

Here's what I think is going on: I have a feeling Home Annex is nothing more than a web site and a small number of phone answerers. There is virtually no shipping department and no real office to speak of. There is absolutely no warehouse or stock of any kind. After a customer places and pays for an order, the order is MAYBE sent to the manufacturer for fulfillment, but often it is just left in the files. The only thing Home Annex guarantees is a decent looking website. They take our money and then they lie and stall in hopes that you'll just give up. I hope you won't.

Here's why your post caught my eye: You say you spoke to three Michelles, who all claim not to be the same person. The woman I spoke with today on the phone, after 25 minutes on hold, was 'Michelle' also, and, as with your 3 Michelles, she did not follow through as she promised. There is something very fishy is going on at Home Annex. I also spoke to a man named 'Zuren,' after another 25 minutes on hold, who promised me an email within 15 minutes. Of course, the email never came.

I am at the end of my rope. Please email me back if you are interested in bringing these stinkers to justice. Thank you.

"I placed an order for a faucet and basket strainer with Homeannex.com on December 3, 2006 and made a note in the comments field stating,” Is it possible to rush ship this order? I am willing to pay additional shipping fees. Please contact me a (xxx)xxx-xxxx." I was never contacted but assumed that would be the case and had already planned to call. I called the customer service department on December 6 as I would need the faucet before December 18. If Homeannex.com could not rush ship the item I had planned to purchase a different faucet and a local home improvement store. After being on hold for over an hour, I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem and in fact the item shipped that day so I would definitely have it in time. December 18 came and went and I had received nothing. I called customer service again and spoke to a woman named Michelle. She told me the item never shipped and they didn't even have it in there possession until just a few days ago. She told me she would go to the shipping department after she hung up with me and have it shipped out that day and I would have it no later than the 20th. On December 19 I received a notice from UPS and after driving 45 minutes to sign for the package, I opened it to find only a basket strainer. I called the customer service department on the 21st that day was received by a gentleman who said all of my items had shipped (which is what their website and the item tracking number showed as well). I stated that isn’t possible considering the box shipped only weighed 2 lbs. He noted that and said he would look into it and call me back. After waiting 4 hours and not receiving a call, I called them again. This time I spoke with a woman named Michelle (and as she pointed out not the same Michelle as the last time) she agreed there is no way the faucet could have been in that shipment and put me on hold to investigate. When she got back on the phone she said they hadn’t even received the item from the manufacturer as it was still in production and wouldn’t be available until January 15. I told her of my previous calls and she just replied repeatedly, “I’m sorry. It’s not my fault. I can’t help you.” My issue at this point was not that the faucet wasn’t there but rather their repeated promises to deliver it on time and ever changing story as to where it was. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or someone else who may be able to help me she stated, “There is no one else.” I concluded my call with her and explained my experience to my boyfriend. He then called and spoke to a gentleman who said the supervisor was Bill but he was busy. My boyfriend then asked to speak to Bill’s supervisor and Zed said he does not know who that is; in fact Zed had no idea what the chain of command was at the company so he too kept stating, “I’m sorry. It’s not my fault. I can’t help you.” He did however say he would look into what he could do for us and call us back. Once again, no call came. After going through the holidays with a side sink sprayer we rigged up to work in place of the faucet. I decided it wasn’t worth it anymore, I’d buy elsewhere. I called customer service on again on 12/28/06 to cancel the order and tell them I would be sending the basket strainer back. I was told by yet another woman named Michelle I would need to fill out a “RGA request” on-line and then wait for someone to call me before I could ship the part back. I would also be charged a 25% restocking fee for the strainer, After the restocking and shipping charges I will be lucky to get ½ my money back and that is if I ever actually receive that call!"

"The Home Annex website is easy to negotiate and prices are very low. Unfortunately, we ended up having to cancel our order with Home Annex. Due to a mixup we did not receive the refund and there was a misunderstanding regarding the restocking fees. But, after discussing this with the customer service supervisor he agreed to provide a full refund. The customer service supervisor was friendly and reasonable.

We will be remodelling our kitchen next year and due to our experience with the customer service supervisor, we will definitely be doing further business with them.

"First I would tell you to check the BBB listings on this site before you buy - they speak for themselves. I wish I had done that. Now I am one of the BBB listings. Second, they list themselves as "authorized" resellers of many products. They are NOT. Be warned. Lastly, they will not assist you in resolving issues of any kind. I spent over $10,000 with them in 3/2006. It is 11/2006 and my issues with them continue. Purchase elsewhere. "

"This store's costumer service department has on six occasions ignored request to resolve the status of my shipment. The ordered was never recieved. No costumer service representative has made any effort toresolve the situation. More than 60 days have gone by since the order was placed, and the only communication is form letter via e-mail that they try to respond to e-mails within 48 hrs. More than 1440 hrs have gone by and a single response to my particular proble."

"I ordered [2] EXAUST FAN/LIGHT COMBINATION UNITS FROM HOME ANNEX. I told the person taking the order that I needed these the next day and would pay extra for the express delivery. He told me that there was no way for them to deliver them the next day. However if I could wait one more day he could guarantee delivery. However when I got the confermation e-mail later that day it didn't have a charge for the express shipping. I called the order clerk back and asked him if my order was express shipped to me. He stated yes it had been and would be here in two days. He also sent me a revised invoice showing the extra $40 for express shipping. However it is now 2 days later and it is after all deliveries are delivered to my house. So I called Home Annex to find out what happened to my fans. They looked it up and told me that they had been shipped that morning. So instead of arriving todaay they were just shipped today and it will take at least two more days before they arrive. Out of the kindness of thier heart they are refunding me the express charges. These were needed for me to have my heating rough inspection on some new construction. I am now going to go to the neerest home improvement store to buy to install for my inspection and then have them replaced afterwards."
