"I ordered a lorex wireless security camera system from homesecuritystore online for $1015. The next day I got an email saying that my order could not be filled because my billing and shipping address were not the same and it was against company policy. I said fine. Cancel my order. My credit card was charged for the $1015 and it still has not been refunded a week later. I can't even shop for a system somewhere else because homesecuritystore has my money. Why did they even charge my card in the first place if they had no intention of filling my order. These are terrible business practices and I would definately not order anything from these people if I were you. "
"I do NOT advise purchasing through HomeSecurityStore.com. They sent me new equipment that did not work and I had to pay for the shipment back to get repaired even though they admit it was faulty to begin with. Other sellers will pay for shipping for return of faulty product. "
"Ordered a battery on 9/3/2009 and it arrived at my house on 9/11/2009. Took a while but it was coming from California to Connecticut and it was over the Labor Day holiday so UPS was not working that day. Battery was exactly as ordered and it worked fine, no problems at all."
"I bought a security system from them on 5/21/09. The item was shipped on 5/22/09 via ups ground (lower case). The package was supposed to be delivered on 5/29/09 but ups lost it and after 5 days they still have no idea where the package is. I made many, many calls to ups asking them about the status, they always told me to call homesecuritystore for updates. Neither ups or homesecuritystore bothered at all to keep me up to date with this issue. At some point I decided to cancel the order and spoke with a lady @ homesecuritystore asking her to offer me 3 day shipping (as a customer courtesy) on a new order and also to cancel my old order. She said she would need to talk to her manager as she has no authority to do such things. She said she would call me back in 30 min. She never called and all I can say about her is that she had a nice voice… The customer service is NON existent for homesecuritystore! If you ever read this, please understand that the only reason I didn't call my credit card company to cancel this transaction w/ or w/o your permission, is ONLY because I'm still hoping the idiots@ups find the package for me earlier that if a new order would come."
"I've placed 3 orders with HSS.com in the last 2 years. All have shipped within 1-3 days. Their customer service is excellent. Their technical department is knowledgable and everyone I've talked to is professional. There are a lot of shady online security shops. This is definitely not one.
My only complaint is the order that took 3 days to ship. Their website states "free same day shipping on orders in stock". I ordered items listed as in stock on their website and it took them 3 days to ship. Not a big deal, but if I had to critique them, this would be my only complaint.

"Ordered twice, both were processed quickly and arrived on time (Free ground shipping for orders over $100). Customer review of products was very helpful, although I was biased towards the honeywell / ademco line.
The most important thing is that the return process was fairly painless. I called the RMA department and finished the process in less than 5 minutes. I shipped everything back by priority mail with delivery confirmation. I saw the credit on my credit card bill 10 days after they received my items.
I haven't tried the tech support, but reviews on the site swear that its awesome. The forums are pretty useful and they have links for product manuals.
I would definately recommend this store. The price is competitive, but not guaranteed lowest. I found one or two items cheaper on other sites."

"I purchased two items from the Home Security Store (the second a replacement for the first). Even though both items were defective I was charged shipping both ways for both items, a cost of about $60. When I contacted customer service I was told that they only paid shipping for returns of items costing a minimum of $100 regardless of who was at fault. Both of the items I ordered met this criteria. But according to their customer service
manager, Teresa, because the items were returned, the purchase price was subtracted from the invoice leaving a zero balance. Therefore they would not pay shipping -- can you believe it???? BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!"
