On 10-25-12 I ordered a product called the (Spin Mop) being promoted on the Home Shopping Network. During the televised promotion the announcer made clear that if the order was placed today they would also included a FREE extra mop head. They said it was the best deal they have ever offered.
When I called in my order the lady who placed my order verified over the phone that I would indeed receive a FREE extra mop head with my order. She also verified the reduced shipping cost for me.
I received my order on 10-31-12. The FREE extra mop head was not included. I called HSN on 10-31-12 and spoke with supervisor Bill (employee ID # 102638). He said he would call me back later in the day after he had a chance to review the show. He never did.
I called HSN again on 11-1-12. They are now denying that any offer for a FREE extra mop head was made during the 60 minute program. They are not offering any evidence to support their claim. They have only a shortened 11 minute version of the program on their website.
What HSN is doing is a direct violation of all Deceptive Trade Practices Acts. The only reason I ordered their product was because they clearly offered A FREE extra mop head on their 60 minute program. This was also verified by the sales lady when I placed my order over the phone.
My resolution would be to receive my FREE mop head. It would also be suitable for HSN to receive an appropriate fine for deliberately deceiving the public. It would be hard to believe this is the only incident.

"I bought a Bissell Steam Shot from HSN by the television. I then checked online the next day, and the one on Bissell.com and Amazon was a different color and had more attachments for the same price! The rating was also better (3.5) than the one on HSN (2.8). I then called HSN to cancel the order, but they said I could not cancel after midnight of the day that I place the order. I then hung up and called back to automatically cancel the HSN card I had just gotten and that the Steam Shot was charged on. I then called back customer service and said I had canceled the card so I did not know how they were going to bill the card. They said the card had already been billed at midnight of the day I had ordered it. It is 2 days later, and the item has yet to be shipped (so why couldn't it have been canceled?) But even worse - from also reading others' negative reviews of HSN, they are billing credit cards before items are even shipped. Some people are getting the credit card bills before they even get the items! How are they getting away with this? It is at least as bad as the banks have just gotten in trouble for. So how can HSN bill customers before they even ship an item and how can they get away with driving up consumer debt like that? I suggest everyone contact their elected officials to complain about HSN in addition to posting online reviews. HSN's shoddy billing practices have to be stopped."
"My first and last time shopping with HSN. I ordered a camera I was really looking forward to in Red. Apparently, the camera was delivered to me front door by UPS and I never received it. I've been living here for 10 years and order off the Internet all the time. Never once has anything been stolen on my porch, I know it is possible but not probable and HSN needs to deliver only upon signature a person or a waiver of a signature. So, I called to get a new camera sent out (I had to get black instead) and asked it to be shipped to my work address...well, customer service as rude as they were told me they could not do that because it was an exchange at my home address. And when asked what if this happened again, HSN said they would then refund my money. OMG....not worth the hassle!"
"BE CAREFUL WITH PAYMENT INFORMATION -
Ordered an item at full price. Got the wrong item. After many hours spent to rectify, I was suposedly offered the wrong item (for the inconvenience, and given that I paid full price) and told a correct one would be sent. When the second one arrived --- wrong item again. I had had enough of HSN so I kept the gift and the new shipment as had been agreed. TWO MONTHS LATER I receive an email from PayPal indicating that HSN is attempting charged me a second time without my authorization. They attempted to charge my account without any authorization or prior communication with me !!!! They probably figured I wouldn't notice. Fortunately Paypal reveresed the unauthorized second payment. I contacted them to ask why they charge me a second time 2 months after the payment I had already made, and what do you know.... It is not in their records that I received a second pair from an HSN Manager. Why didn't they contact me then? Why did they try to discretely process an unauthorized payment. THEN I get a CLEVERLY-worded letter giving me 2 choices : (1) Pay a second time; (2) we will send it to a collection agency AND place it on you CREDIT REPORT..... CONCLUSION: I am left with having paid full price for a item I did not order. I have felt harrassed, and lost much time,... Be Careful, and monitor you statements. "
"Awful! They give you false information regarding their standard shipping times. It states on their website that it's 3-7 business days for standard shipping. Mine isn't coming for over 2 weeks! Why? Apparently they get it from some other company and they take a long time to deliver. But this information isn't stated with the product or at time of checkout. I am exteremly frustrated, and will miss giving my husband his anniversary gift due to them lying. They refuse to do anything about it except to give me false sympathy. I can't cancel the order, so I'm going to return it and I'm buying from someone else when it comes in!!! I will never shop with this company again. BUYERS BEWARE"
"Although I like Joy Mangano products, I will no longer purchase them from HSN. I opened an HSN credit card because of a promotion. I bought a product on Flex-Pay through what I thought was my HSN Credit Card. NOPE, apparently Flex-Pay & HSN are two different entities. Not only did I pay my balance in full but I got a deliquent notice from HSN Collections! It took me 3 days and 7 phone calls to resolve this issue.
I will NEVER make any more purchases from HSN or use that damn HSN card again. Word of warning to all prospective HSN users, make sure you REALLY want the product you are purchasing and be aware of the difference between Flex-Pay and HSN Credit Card."
"Will NEVER purchase from HSN again!!! On 09/08/2012, I placed an order for a "Waitlist" item. Early on 09/09/2012, I attempted to delete the order. HSN refused to delete the item online, or even when I spoke with "Customer Service"! AND, the delivery date is shown as "10/23/2012"!!!!

"Do not give your money to HSN. I was going to write a negative review about my experience with them. But all you have to do is go down the line and read the bad experiences people have had with this company. They made a mistake with my order and I was at fault for not returning it within the allowed time. It Was Their Mistake Not Mine! It had to do with autoship. What a racket that is!
Well their customer service could do with a major overhaul. They were not helpful, It was my mistake. They didn't try at all to make things right, still said it was my mistake.
Well i guess it was my mistake for shopping with them in the first place. Never again!"
"I should have read these reviews before ordering with this outfit. Placed my order Saturday morning and got a confirmation email promising delivery in about 10 days. In this email was an order status link.
When I came home later that evening, I decided to check order status to see if it had shipped yet. Instead, my approved and confirmed order was now showing a credit card decline. Call customer service, which was now closed.
I called the next morning to straighten it out, only to be told that the product is now sold out. When I asked about my confirmed order, the rep looked and said that my card was decline about 3 hours after my order was placed and there's nothing to be done about it.
Stay away. I asked a few friends and they had similar stories going back years with this outfit. They'll take your order, make it look like it's all OK and leave you waiting for nothing to ever arrive. There was never a follow up email letting me know there was a problem with the card or order.
The only thing the rep was apparently able to do right was honor my request to delete my account. I went to hsn.com to verify this later and the site no longer had an account with my email address. I suggest others do the same.
Update 07/15/12: Now that my account is closed and the order unable to be fulfilled due a "credit card decline," I see a pending charge from HSN on my account. Stay FAR FAR away from these people."
"I use to do a lot of shopping at HSN, but have experienced some of the same problems with returning items. Their customer service is HORRIBLE AT BEST. They have very little knowledge of what is being sold! Am I the only customer who has noticed, but everyone on their HOST say the own just about every product they are selling! That's totally impossible otherwise their whole paycheck would go straight to HSN! IF YOU WANT TO SHOP WITH A COMPANY THAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS SHOP WITH QVC! THEY SELL QUALITY MERCHANDISE & THEY STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY SELL! I NO LONGER SHOP AT HSN JUST QVC, MUCH BETTER PRODUCTS & A COMPANY THAT IS FOR THE CUSTOMER. I'VE HAD A FEW PACKAGES LOST, BUT THEY DIDN'T HESITATE TO SHIP ANOTHER ONE RIGHT OUT, NO QUESTIONS ASKED! TRY THEM OUT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! A HAPPY QVC SHOPPER. :-P"
"Two firsts here: GSN and Gateway. Never used either before and, chances are good, never will use either again. I recorded the GSN infomercial re: Gateway NV5S26u. Looked interesting and I bit. Upon receipt I discovered a disc containing "pc essentials 21" standard-28 programs on 1 dvd. This, I thought, was supposed to be pre-loaded. Tuned in the pre-recorded show and your sales persons exact quote was "$500 worth of software...pre-loaded. NOT. When I called GSN to find out what was up, got a pre-recorded msg about current purchases available on GSN but no customer service. Where did it go? After some research, discovered that once a person makes a sale GSN switches from a LIVE phone bank to recorded messages about current GSN sales. No more customer service though. "
"I was given a cell phone as a gift bought from there. HSN omitted some of the information from the packaging about activating the bonus minutes (1500) and air time (1 year). I found out later from the person who bought it and called about doing this. Was told the promotional period was over and all they offered me was 200 minutes and 90 days. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, I was told there weren't supervisors so I just had to take what they offered although it was their fault because the correct information was not included. The rep was just reading from a script and refused to answer any questions at all about it. Will NEVER EVER purchase form them."
"I ordered a 3D television and was very pleased with the item and the handling of the order: Five stars for that one.... Then I ordered a Galaxy tab: .1 stars for this order! it was supposed to be delivered on the sixth of this month, there were 'issues' on there end that I've had to work through with two of their departments and another company.... So I was told it would be shipped on the sixth for delivery on the eight.... now it won't be shipped until the seventh for delivery on the ninth!AAAAAAAAARRGGHGghhh..... and their chat support person disconnected our session while i was typing my response to his/her canned response. "Ordered aa item on Dec. 29th... A month later was told there was a short wait (back order)... another week later was told my order was delivered, left at my door... a day after that was told that I RETURNED the item... How could I have returned it if I never received it?
I was told the item was SOLD OUT and yet it is still listed for sale on HSN...
Do not buy from HSN! Seems like they CAN NOT keep track of their inventory... "
"The worst experience over the phone. Not taking information correctly to charging an amount quickly before reviewing that all the information is correct. Then there is no communication once it has been sent out. They ask for everything but then dont utilize their sources to network correctly to find out the customers dont go thru any more troubles! Since they couldnt call,email, or text the customer, they dont find out the information is still wrong. They forgot to put the suite number and that package has another week to reach them back before they could do,anything or even find out "oh our customer hasnt received package." To top it off their supervisor only way to fix a problem is to give a measly $30 towards next their next bad experience. I told them to erase all my info and to keep there money. that reminds me, i have to wait a,week for,my money to be back in my account. So my wife Valentines gift was ruined. They have my money. And i am still without a laptop for her. "
