"We were getting rooms for a family reunion at a reputable hotel chain. The box appears offering to help get the best group rate. . We agreed on the rooms were offered at 120 dollars per night and the link provided was sent to each family member so they could book their own room. When trying to book our rooms, and only AFTER taking our credit card number THEN we were each told there were no more rooms and that the price was now 300 dollars. Um. No thanks. That is faulty advertising. A Hook and Bait scam. I wouldn’t trust this organization to make my reservations. "
"HotelPlanner is a bunch of fraud artists and internet scammers. You take advantage of people who assume that you are like Expedia and Hotels.com who don't charge a fee over the standard room rate. But you charge a fraudulent fee of around $50 to just to do the booking! Yes, I made a mistake booking with you but your whole business strategy is to pay to have Google put your name first so that people will get caught off guard by you slipping in this fraudulent fee. By the time I realized that this fraudulent fee was included it was too late to cancel my booking.You wouldn't even tell me what the fee is vs the tax amount. You say they are mandated by law. Yes, for the tax but NO for your fraudulent fee. You should be ashamed that you are such an unethical company."
"Late at night after a LONG day on the road I looked up Red Roof Inn in Ocala to book a room. Thought I was calling them directly but it was actually hotelplanner.com. They assured me the hotel did indeed have a ground floor room available (I walk with a cane and had a puppy w/me that would need to go out a lot) so I booked and paid for the room. When I got to the hotel they had booked me into their only empty room which was on the 2nd floor. Said if we wanted to wait they could tidy a room that had been vacated early. It was LATE and I didn't want to wait so I asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere but the manager, Sammy, said I'd have to get the refund from hotelplanner.com because I booked through them, so I called them. They put me on hold while they spoke to the hotel manager and said she told them their cancellation policy is no refunds. I did NOT cancel my reservation, they sold me a room that did not exist! I still don't know which one was telling the truth about who was refusing to refund my money. But we sat there for an hour fighting for a refund that we never got and the room they were going to tidy up was still not ready. It was midnight by then and I didn't want to stay in a room the cleaning crew had not been through anyway! We went to a different hotel and I'm still fighting to get my $145 back. I will NEVER stay at or recommend Red Roof Inn OR recommend hotelplanner.com to anyone!!

"Linh Nguyen was fantastic. She spent over 30 minutes trying to figure out my problem, and though she kept me on hold, she did check back with me to ask for more information from me and then put me on hold to check further. She did finally confirm that the information of my reservation had finally been sent to the hotel, and she told me that the hotel will be ready to check me in when I arrive and that they now have all the information. After hanging up from Linh, I called the hotel to verify, and the hotel confirmed that they did now have the information they needed. I give Linh 5 stars, but I give the company 1 star because it took me calling the company repeatedly, getting put on hold and then disconnected, getting put on hold for 15 minutes and then being told to press 1 to have someone call me back (no one ever did), getting a live person who heard my question and then said "ok, one moment" and then put me on hold, only to have the automated voice tell me that an app error occurred and then the call disconnected. It took me 3 hours to get my problem solved, and Linh did the effort needed to make that happen. Thank you Linh! Too bad none of the other people who answered the phone cared enough to help me."

"I needed to remedy a situation for my mom where our hotel rooms got double booked. I was very frustrated because I called the number on my reservation 4 times and got hung up on. I called another number 3 times and got hung up on. I tried the online chat and it was not available. I sent 2 messages requesting a call back. I got the messages back in my email. I called the 1st number back and said customer service 4-5 times and finally got connected with Kristin Ferris. She was so kind and patient. She immediately started solving the problem and called the hotel to make sure everything was correct while I was on the phone. I appreciate her awesome customer service. She is one of a kind. "I booked the Hilton Indianapolis in January, it is now May. They booked me a hotel (not even a Hilton, the Pensiunea Luiza) in Romania instead. It has been 4 months and they have completely given up on refunding me — I have come to the conclusion this was either complete incompetence, or worse, an internal scam. Avoid this company and book direct."

"HORRIBLE!
On 1/21/21 I went to the La Quinta website, found the room I wanted, which clearly stated "FREE CANCELLATIONS" and "PAY AT HOTEL", called the no. shown, and Hotel Planner answered which concerned me. The agent said that they book for La Quinta and that he could "see" the room that I had up on my screen. We talked for over 15 min., that I wanted to make sure that I was getting the correct room (there was another listing for the same room that stated No Cancellations and a different price),in case I had to cancel because my mother was under Hospice care and I could possibly get an emergency call and need to come back o be with my mother.
He "assured" me that he would book the correct room and that he would send me a confirmation to look over and make sure and if there were any problems "just call back and ask for me, my name is Francisco. I said, you mean if I call Hotel Planner back, I can actually talk to YOU? "Yes, of course."
He then asked for my Credit Card # and info., to hold the reservation, said he was not going to run any charges through, that I would pay at the hotel.
I got the email confirmation as soon as I hung up, and he had booked the "No Cancellation" room AND HAD RUN THE ENTIRE AMOUNT ON MY CARD.
I immediately called Hotel Planner, asked for Francisco, which of course was not available, told the girl what had happened and to please fix it and book the room that I asked for. She said could not do it because it was a "NO CANCELLATION" booking.
I called back again and the same rep. said "let me let you talk to Kathryn our customer service rep. She can help you. Got a VM, left a message, never got a return call.
Called HP back the next morning, Rep. said she sent it "up to escalation"???,
I then called La Quinta and booked the correct room, which was even cheaper, and was told that they have no such policy of "No Cancellations" She tried to cancel the Hotel Planner reservation but said they had it blocked.
I did stay there and payed the hotel when I checked out.
I have also since found out that La Quinta never ran any charges through so Hotel Planner, (who by the way CANCELLED the reservation on 1/21) ran the charge, but has refused to give me a refund.
This has been the worst business experience I've ever had and again I say BEWARE!

The guest had disputed the charges and we were able to retrieve the necessary documentation from the guest once the dispute was closed with their bank and as such we were able to issue a refund in full for the guest booking and they have been notified when they can expect the refund in their account.

The tax recovery and fees are charged by the hotel and the third party provider, they are not our charges. All charges were disclosed and agreed to, prior to you completing the booking.
