"I was anxious to order an item one of my sons had put on his wish list for Christmas, and made an attempt to find it cheaper than what it was listed for on Amazon. To my delight, despite the late order date so CLOSE to Christmas, I was able to find the item for $10 cheaper and FREE shipping, what's more I had it the next day! A perfect Christmas Present for me and my son!

"60" TV was delivered in working order. The two customer service people I talked to were helpful and professional. They did not try to up-sell me warranties or accessories I did not need. They retroactively applied a $10 coupon the day after I placed the order without complaint. In general, they acted like they appreciated my business and genuinely were interested in helping.

The only minor issue I had was that I placed the order a full day before the Xmas shipping deadline, but the TV did not arrive at my local shipping office until the last minute. I had to call the shipper directly to make sure they would deliver it to the house the same day they received it. They did so (though they normally don't), and everything was fine. Still, had I not called to follow-up, it would likely not have arrived on time.

"J&R offers great service with very competitive price. My experience with them was somewhat unique and I'll describe it in detail. I was in the market of buying a new high end compact camera and had my eyes set on the panasonic LX7. A week and a half before I ordered from J&R, I have already ordered the LX7 from another website with the cheapest price, at the time, which was $350. When J&R's deal showed up a week later, $289 with all the discounts and free shipping, I was feeling bummed out since I have already ordered it. For 24 hours, I had added the LX7 in the cart on J&R's website and stared at it. After 2 days of contemplation, I realized the deal had ended when I checked the product website; the item was no longer listed on J&R. However, when I checked in my cart, the LX7 was still in my cart and it still showed that it was $289. Expecting some sort of error, I decided to try my luck and checkout my cart. To my surprise, the order went through. I called J&R right away and their customer service staff told me it was out of stock but they expect another shipment in a week. In the end I was able to cancel my original order from another website. My order of LX7 from J&R arrived after 2 weeks without a problem (I chose the free shipping option). Even if this was a glitch, the fact that they honored their expired deal really meant they put customers ahead of their bottom line. All in all, I was blown away by how good their customer service was and I will be buying from them regularly from now on."

"I placed my most recent Order for my new Sony MDR-X 10 headphones from J&R Music by telephone for Christmas. The salesman was very knowledgable, I wish I remembered his name, he deserves a bonus. Everything he told me was true, even the delivery time, they were delivered in 3 days. I have been a J&R Music customer for more years than I can remember. It was a no brainer to pick up the phone & call in my order. I am so happy with my new Simon Cowel SONY X/RED headphones, my neighbors & a few doormen on my street all were surprised at the quality of the sound. What the salesman said about the base was true, I am a big Allman Bros. band fan & boy the sound is GREAT !"

"I ordered an iPad2 about a week before Christmas and the salesperson was very friendly and informative during the whole process. It was also very quick and painless. "After having a bad experience with this store a few years back, I have not shopped there until this November, when I placed an order for four digital-media items. All items were shipped in bubble mailers and arrived beaten-up. However, a bigger issue is that a software box arrived with the original seal broken and a second seal taped over. I complained to the store and shipped it back. It took them more than two weeks to send me exactly the same box. Selling open software is a form of piracy, so I presume FTC and the software manufacturer will be interested in hearing about this.

Edit after the deceitful J&R response: I actually exchanged several emails with the J&R representatives about the issue and there hasn't been any single email they sent that I have not replied to. I will also post a photo if that is allowed. If FTC or Adobe want to check themselves then I will send them the item.

"THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!
I ordered a TV saying that it is in stock ready to ship.
so i ordered the tv and receive an email stated that its on a backorder till the 20th of december which was a week from when i bought the tv.
20th of december come when it is supposed 2 ship out and i call to track the order and they tell me they don't have the tv again and another backorder!!!!!
took about 2 weeks 2 get a refund from them but about 2 hours to bill my credit card.
BUYERS BEWARE OF COMPANYS LIKE THESE!!
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!

"Customer service was excellent. I actually planned on ordering online, called J & R with a quick question. A live person answered my question immediately and offered to fill my order right then and there for me.
