"Placed on order on December 7 for a Christmas present. Was told by email that the item was delayed, but never by how long or when I would receive it. It is now December 21 and there is no way I'm getting it by Christmas. There is no way to cancel the order and no one to speak to about it. They don't want to be bothered by their pesky customers, I suppose. Easily remedied. I will never order from this site again, and at this point I don't plan on stepping foot in one of their stores either. "
"I placed an order online on December 9. Something last minute to throw together for a gift and a small item I was out of. Two days later I started getting the emails telling me the order was delayed. No estimated date of delivery, just - late. Now I know there is not going to be enough time to make up the gift, so I want to cancel the order. That's when the fun began. No 800 number. Only a local Ohio number. Which I called. And heard a recording, saying they were very busy and no longer answering their phones. I have to either text or email them. Sent texts. Sent emails. NO RESPONSE. EVER. Finally, went to BBB and discovered hundreds of other people with the same problem. Once the BBB got involved, I did get a response. I asked for a refund - Joann's "shipped" the item. Now I will have to go through the whole return rigamarole. IF the order ever comes. Today the order arrived, banged up and dirty, and totally useless. Maybe the brick and mortar stores are doing ok, but BEWARE ordering anything from them online. Just, NO. Don't do it!"
"Used to get items fairly quickly. However, the most recent order has been pending for at least 2 weeks now. No response to email, no way for me to cancel the order, and no phone number to reach them at. Finally went down to the store and was given a phone number to call but was told that they frequently "shut it off due to the amount of calls." I'll try calling but I dont have much hope. "I placed an order on 12/4/23 and on 12/8/23 I received a text stating my order was delayed. I have tried numerous times to "contact us" and no response. Called the customer service number and they are not taking calls, referred to email. This is ridiculous, no company could possibly be this busy that they cannot return your call or send an updated text as to the status of your order. Of course, they have been paid. "I ordered wrapping paper to be used at a party for kids on November 23 thinking I would have it by December 12. I checked the status week before tonsee it was still in processing I emailed twice that week to try to get an eta or for them to cancel if it wouldn't arrive on time. No answer to either message. Emailed them December 12 and finally got a virtual response that they can't cancel even though its not been shipped. Also can't tell me when I will actually receive it or if I will. Do not give this company your money."
"This lady named Mary was supposed to be cutting my fabric, she starts it and goes to talk to another customer. Then she gets sarcastic at this man for using a cart that she says was for them to use, not for customers. I mean why be hateful about it? He said it was in middle of isle. If they dont want you to use it, put it away. It took a while getting all my fabric cut cause she kept talking to other people and I said can we get mine cut I been here 6 min just to get 2 bolts of fabric cut. She then just says Im getting it. This is the worst place to get service. From now on, I will be going to hobby lobby"

On 8/30/2023, I am low income, SS only income. I am a senior and have arthitis in both hands so it takes longer for me to crochet.
Paid thur paypal, within one hour time, received email conformation, noticed mailing address was wrong, called them right away. The wrong mailing address was give to them from paypal. The mailing address, was a place I lived at last year, 82 miles from where I currently live.
They told me they couldn't do anything about it. It wasn't shipped yet, order had just gone thur, they can't cancel so I could re order, nor could they change the shipping address. After on the phone with them for 3 days, on the phone with Paypal, who also contacted them. JoAnnes couldn't tell me who they were shipping thur. After 33 hours, part of my order was shipped thur Fed Ex, contacted them ar the advice of Sonny in JoAnnes customer service. Fed ex told me only the shipper could change the shipping address. Was it contact with JoAnne fabrics customer Gina as well. Informed, as a SPECIAL FAVOR, they would return my money after everything shipped, they charged my account 43 dollars for what was shipped, on 9/01/2023. And today the package was delivered to the wrong address at my old Apt building, in another city. The other part of the order, still hasn't shipped and they don't know when it will ship, product on back order. They have my 43 dollars for an order I did not receive, and I have to wait for a refund, and will charge my account, when they again ship the items on the rest of the order, that again I won't receive.
So they have my money, I have NO MERCHANDISE!!! So I have to wait, a couple of weeks, or more to be made hole, and they will be take more money out of my account, for more products I will not receive. JoAnnes is a very dishonest company, they refuse to correct the shipping address so I can receive what they charged me for. I can't reorder, they are tieing up my money. So I can't even order else where. CHRISTMAS is already ruin, Thanks JoAnnes!!! I get one check a month, won't get more until October."
"February 9, 2023, I went to your Downingtown, PA store to return a piece of fabric I purchased last week because it had been cut incorrectly. The following incident occurred and I am extremely upset!
I took the fabric I wanted to return to the cutting desk and explained to the salesperson that I had, on my previous visit, asked the gentleman who had cut it for me for his help in determining how much fabric I would need to remake the seat cover for a baby bouncy chair and I handed him the seat cover so he could determine the yardage I needed. He was not very kind or helpful and acted as if I was bothering him because I asked for his help instead of just TELLING HIM what I needed. At any rate, I handed him the bolt of fabric I chose to use and he cut it for me.
When I got home to use the fabric for my project, I realized that he had cut it too short because he did not take into account that the fabric print could only be placed lengthwise (up and down) and not widthwise (sideways) and therefore cut it too short. As a long time employee, He SHOULD have known that!!! (I frequent that store and know that he has been there for years). So, February 12, 2023, I had to drive back to the store (10 miles from my home) to return the fabric and get the correct yardage.
I went to the cutting desk and explained my situation to the salesperson, her name was ZUZANA. I told her that the gentleman who had cut it for me seemed disinterested in helping me and asked her if he was the manager, and she told me that there are four different men that are managers there (although I’ve never seen more than one male employee in that store who cuts fabric.). I said “Well, I can’t recall his name, but he was a black man”, (there was no negative tone or inflection whatsoever in my voice) I was simply identifying him. She replied “You mean African-American!” and I replied “Yes, OK, whatever term you want to use” and she said “NO, it’s NOT OK and it’s NOT whatever term I want to use, it’s African American and you are a racist!”! I said “I did not mean to sound racist and was only using that term to describe him to you” and she said “That was a very racist remark you made”. I said “I am an Italian American and do not go around calling myself an “Italian American”. She said “Well, I’m a Slavic American and I DO and I’m NOT having this conversation with you, I’m just not” and she slammed my intended fabric purchase down on the table and tried to wrap it up as if she was not going to wait on me. Then she said “I’m not waiting on you, I’m just not, you’re a racist, just leave the store!” I replied “I’m not leaving the store because I need that fabric and I told you I didn’t mean anything by my description and it’s none of your business anyway how I referred to him”. She proceeded to argue, saying “It IS my business and you are a racist!” She must have then realized she was the EMPLOYEE and I was the CUSTOMER and proceeded to cut the fabric for me. When done, she made another remark under her breath which I did not hear and I asked her to repeat it, but she would not. So, I looked at her name tag which she saw me doing and she said “Go ahead, look at it, my name is Zuzana!” I told her I surely was looking for her name and surely would contact her employer to which she said “Go ahead! You made a very racist remark and I’m not having this conversation with you, leave the store, JUST LEAVE THE STORE!!” In addition to her accusations and insults, she was very LOUD to the point that I wished I had asked her to lower her voice but figured she would just hurl more accusations and insults at me, so I didn’t bother, but I was mortified and embarrassed.
I paid for my purchases and left the store in tears with my heart beating out of my chest and my hands shaking!! I am 63 years old and Do Not need this unwarranted aggravation from an EMPLOYEE at Joann Fabric who is supposed to be providing customer service and satisfaction, not to mention minding their own damn business!
I will NOT tolerate this behavior from ANYONE and will surely make public this occurrence!
2-12-23 I had to return to same store because Zuzana cut the fabric wrong AGAIN, and she sarcastically told me "I'M NOT SPEAKING TO YOU, I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT".
Joann Fabric district manager finally contacted me regarding complaints I made, assured me Zuzana would be "dealt with", but as of today, 3-3-23, she is still employed there!!!"
"The worst online experience EVER! Purchased items during the "door buster sale." Min purchase of $50.00 to get 1.95 shipping. Ordered embroidery stabilizer and fat quarters. The order cancelled the next day with no explanation. Call customer service and they said the items were at too many locations and it would cost too much to ship. Maybe they could have figured that out before they took the order and charged my credit card. After more than an hour on the phone I thought we resolved the problem and they re-ordered (I was told with the sale prices) , only to find out they were sending me half the order for double the price. Called back within the hour and was told since one of the items (out of 22) was showing shipped, they could not do anything. Nice trick on their part but i was suspicious as the first customer service member was trying everything to get me to cancel my order and delay the process including pretending not to hear me (when later he hear me whisper to my mother). Both customer service members tried different stories as to why my order was cancelled to so I suspect they are told to lie to save the company money on sale orders and make a reason that the customer will be understanding of as the second customer service told me 20 items were out of stock. LAST TIME I EVER USE THIS STORE NO MATER HOW GOOD THE SALE. You pay in the end with wasted time and major frustration. RUN AWAY FROM JOANN'S! "
"I'll never order anything else from JoAnns online! I placed an order, the system provided an error message each time saying to update payment information. I tried quite a few times and then made up my mind that I'd just go to the store to pick up the items. I checked my account shortly after this and JoAnns has charged me twice for an order that was never processed! The store provided me with the number for customer service and that was a total joke. The representative was unhelpful to say the least and the supervisor had a nasty attitude! She was not a great listener and she kept repeating the same thing as if I was not understanding when I told her 5 times that I do and was asking something different than what she was responding to. Now, 5 days later, the money is still a processing transaction in my bank account and JoAnns "customer service" has been of no help! Their payment and order system is malfunctioning and the hassle to have my own money released back to me is unbelievable!"
"I was given a shipping arrival date 3 times for 3 different days. Still has not arrived. They ship with Fed Ex and I guess it has no regard for timeliness. My order sat at a facility for 3 business days. Customer service is a joke at Joann.com. Contacted customer service and she said their policy is 10 business days for delivery. Really? In the US? They require 3 business days before it's shipped out, and they charge you a handling fee for this delay. I guess if they had been honest on their tracking dates I wouldn't be writing this. Don't waste your time"
"I ordered a sewing machine for a family members child and then wrote to tell person it was on it's way. Recipient doesn't want it and was very nasty about the gift. I called and begged Joann's to cancel order and they tell me they cannot do it. According to their site the item is still "processing". Poor customer Service!!"
