"Being a first time customer, placed an order for 16GB Hyperx memory at Kingston.com. Website says the order will be shipped same day if item is in stock. 4 days later, have not received any shipping notification so I went to the website to check my order status. The order status is “received”. Called the kinston.com customer service line and being told my order was cancelled after management review my order. Finally talked to the manager. He told me that someone has my name in my state placed an order before, so my order was canceled to protect me against potential fraudulent activity. That is ridiculous! My order in the system has the exact billing address/shipping address matched to my information on file with the credit card I provided in the order. How could that be fraudulent! The manager told me to purchase from somewhere else like amazon and I checked the price there it is about $20 higher. I believe they just ran out of stock on this memory and gave out lousy reasons to customers. Why not telling customers that memory is NOT in stock so I can purchase from somewhere else instead of wasting valuable time! Why not just email me, or call me up to notify order being cancelled due to lack of stock? It is very bad business practice, I will not purchase from Kingston.com again. "
"Ordered four sticks of 4GB ECC memory modules for an Intel server (16GB total). Received all 4GB kits (2GB x2) instead. Now I have eight 2GB plus four 2GB already in the server. When I spoke with customer server on the phone, they said they would not exchange them and I had to place another order. I told them I was not interested in ordering more memory and they immediately hung up the phone. We have been purchasing Kingston for over 10 years, never again."
"I ordered 3 GB of DDR2 RAM for my computer rebuild and the price was 1/3 of the price of the next lower speed Kingston RAM at a local retailer. Not only that, but in this case shipping was free, and even with free shipping I got it lightning fast. I am very happy with Kingston in every respect. Everything went so smoothly that I didn't have to contact their customer service for anything so I don't know how good they are or aren't, but I'm a happy campter."
"I ordered a 2GB card from them for a decent price when the card arrive it did not work,i call their customer service and the guy seemed like he was annoyed. They wanted me to pay for shipping to return it for my replacement even though the card was defective when it came.I won't be shopping with them anytime soon."
"Hello everyone,
Until recently, I had very much enjoyed placing purchases with this online retailer (they make an awesome product), but after much frustration in trying to place an order for some SD cards, I have to say that I'm just not pleased. Here is an example of what I would get after putting in (on several minutes and hours apart attempts):
>>The transaction resulted in an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.
>>Street Address: No Match -- First 5 Digits of Zip: Match
>>CVV2 Code Match
What I was told was that there were new security measures in place in order to make sure that the billing address I'm entering is the same as the bank. Apparently "case sensitive" is the key.
Well, after checking my banking statements, talking to Kingston's customer service (around 3 or 4 times as well as an email) and my bank's.
I was told (albeit nicely) on both sides that it's the other side's "problem".
Since this time, I have placed a few orders with other online retailers (in the past 24 hours since this all started) and have had no problems with my orders going through.
The only constant I kept hearing from Kingston is "we implemented new security measures to protect against fraud". For which I totally understand.
But when you have checked and checked that you're properly putting in the proper info, yet you still see the same results. It makes it even much more frustrating. Especially when they don't seem to offer any solutions in order to help you.

"I've bought from Kingston a few times when they have really cheap prices on flash drives or SD cards. Their products are great, and they ship fast. They communicate with you and ship FedEx with a tracking number."
"Very happy with product and purchasing process. Ordered on 3/31, shipped 4/1, received 4/3 (California to Ohio, no less!) They offered free express saver shipping and their prices were the best I could find for the MobileLite Reader w/2GB SD Card. Definitely would buy from them again."
"Wanted to increase memory on my Sony laptop. Their website was easy to navigate and determine what module I needed. Their sales and tech support people were easily accessible by phone and very helpful. They suggested I place my order on line since the price would be less. The order was shipped the same day I placed it and delivered, 3rd day, by Fedex.
Overall, an excellent experience."
"Bought a memory module from them a long time ago (with a rebate, which was paid), and bought another Kingston somewhere else later. Recently purchased a new cpu and motherboard, but the two memory modules would not work together in dual channel mode, or at all, despite having worked together perfectly well (not in dual channel) in the computer from which they were pulled. The motherboard manufacturer suggested I contact Kingston for the timings to be used on the memory.
I contacted Kingston and asked for suggestions on timings. Kingston determined that the two modules were not identical and offered to replace them with identical modules at no charge. I took them up on their offer. They paid shipping both ways, I did not spend a penny.
Any company willing to replace perfectly functioning products just to make sure that the customer using their products is satisfied is very impressive, and these days extremely rare. My hat is off to them."
"These guys dont honor their rebates. Classic bait and switch where they quote a low price after rebates but do not honor them when it comes to paying the rebate. Stay away from these guys and buy standard products from reputed manufacturers."
"Product was ok but the rebate was a total scam. They sent me the rebate late and when I deposited the rebate it got bounced because Kingston cancelled the bank account from which they issued the rebate. They place so many restrictions on redemption of rebate that chances are slim that you will be able to get your rebate amount and deposit. I emailed their representative who replied back and wouldnt issue me another check. My bank charged me $25 fee for bounced check. "
"Ordered 2 256MB CompactFlash cards (on sale for $24.99 each + $12 rebate each) on Thurs. 9/30. Shipping confirmation and tracking number sent Sat. 10/2. Received goodies on Tues. 10/5. Free, fast shipping. Why order from the middle man?"
"No problems. If you have trouble finding memory for Sony Vaio, this is it!"
"Purchased a 256MB SD card from them (or so I thought i did!). As it turned out I bought a compact flash card cause I cant read. Lady on the phone very nice, I returned it and got my SD card in only a few days. Very fast shipping, friendly people, low price, and then there was a rebate on the card too."
"I compared many stores for the prices of the 512MB DDR PC-2100 RAM chip that I needed, and Kingston had it for the lowest price, **by miles**. It was so cheap that I decided to buy two of them (I had planned to get only one). Shipping was free, and the items arrived reasonably fast. My laptop now runs faster than when it had only 256MB of RAM. It's money well spent, and the next time I need more RAM I will definitely check Kingston first."
