"It was the first time I had ordered from them and the experience was pleasant! The price for the 64MB EDO notebook memory module was reasonable and included shipping. The product arrived within 3 days. The next time I need RAM upgrades I will certainly consider Coast to Coast again."

"I ordered a RAM that was advertised by CompGeeks as a 256MB PC100 SODIMM, but what I received was a 256MB PC133. My laptop could only take PC66 or PC100, and so it didn't work. I told them about the problem, and they sent me a replacement even before I had returned the product. Their speediness was impressive, but unfortunately this replacement was also PC133! Even worse, it's not 256MB this time, but 512MB!
In addition, this RAM was advertised as being "new", but it's obviously not, as both the original chip and the replacement looked pretty dirty.
This was my 5th purchase from CompGeeks and was the first time I have had a problem. Based on the not-so-good ratings provided by other people, I had expected a problem sooner or later, but had hoped that it would involve something cheaper than this RAM ($48 plus shipping). From now on, I will try to order from other retailers (especially NewEgg!!) whenever possible, and order from CompGeeks only as a last resort."

"I bought a Lexar 128MB memory stick for my digital camera. Amazon had a special sale for it and it was really cheap! As usual, shipping was free. I have been playing around with this new toy and it works well.
Amazon has lots of great bargains. However, they have such a HUGE inventory that these bargains get buried under the regularly priced stuff. So, it takes some patience to find good deals at Amazon."

"I compared many stores for the prices of the 512MB DDR PC-2100 RAM chip that I needed, and Kingston had it for the lowest price, **by miles**. It was so cheap that I decided to buy two of them (I had planned to get only one). Shipping was free, and the items arrived reasonably fast. My laptop now runs faster than when it had only 256MB of RAM. It's money well spent, and the next time I need more RAM I will definitely check Kingston first."

"This was the first time I had ordered from MWAVE. It was an accident -- I was looking for something else, which I thought wasn't cheap enough so I didn't buy it. Then I accidentally saw this super deal on a 160GB Western Digital external HD, for only $99!!! That's $90 off the regular price! Of course I grabbed it! It arrived today, and I have been busy backing up my data onto this drive. So far it has been working perfectly. A truly satisfactory shopping experience!"

"The product (a mattress topper) arrived intact and quickly. I have ordered from Overstock.com 6 times in the last three years. There was once when a refurbished digital camera didn't work at all, but that was most likely the fault of the manufacturer (Fuji). It was under Fuji's warranty, so it was fixed at no extra charge. Other than that minor incident, all other transactions went smoothly. While their prices are not always competitive, the flat shipping rate of just $2.95 is really nice. Every now and then, they even bring it down to $1. Will do business with them again."

"My experience is similar to many others'. I ordered a SODIMM RAM on Oct 14. It wasn't cheap ($35 compared to ~$30 elsewhere), but I had a coupon code that would give a free notebook cable lock, so I thought it was worth it. My credit card was charged right away. It has been almost 3 weeks, but the order still hasn't been shipped. Besides the order confirmation email, I haven't heard from them again.
They really need to change the way they handle orders and customers. First, they should charge credit cards only when the producst are shipped. Second, if there are delays, they need to explain to the customers what's going on. This is the second time I have ordered from them. The first time went okay, and that's why I ordered from them again. Now, I am not sure I will do business with them one more time. They think they can make more money by cheating their customers. They are dead wrong. I am sure other much more honest retailers (e.g. Newegg) are making a lot more money, because their customers keep returning.

Jan 2004 UPDATE: I emailed them in Dec 2003 asking them what's going on, and got a reply within 24 hours saying they would ship it the following Monday. It never happened. So, I emailed them again last week, which was more than 3 months (yes, 3 months!) after the order was placed. They said they no longer had the RAM that I wanted, and would cancel the order for me. Today, I got the money back. That was by far the worst online order experience I've ever had!"

"NewEgg did it again. Every time I order from them, I get my products within 3 days. And every time the shipping is free! I have found NewEgg to be the best source of hard drives (for both desktops and laptops). Their prices are so low that sometimes they are even cheaper than the refurbished drives (of comparable capacities and speeds) at other companies. However, I must admit that what I purchased this time (a PCMCIA LAN card) was a little over-priced. Had I done a little more research I probably would have bought it elsewhere. Nevertheless, I always order from NewEgg whenever I can, because I know they are reliable."
