I ordered an Apple laptop battery replacement that worked for about a week before it would cause my laptop to shutdown suddenly and diagnostics reported that the battery was faulty (eventually, the laptop refused to charge it). I tested the battery in another laptop (and a good battery in the original laptop) and the problem was definitely the battery.

I requested a refund and received an extremely long email with instructions that mentioned that I would get a pre-paid mailing label within "24 business hours" (do they not work 8 hour days?).

I waited a week and did not get a label. I replied to the warrantely replacement email asking for my pre-paid label and got a reply with all-caps highlighted letters: PLEASE PRINT THIS RMA OUT AND FILL IN THE AREAS AND PUT IN THE ENVELOPE WITH THE BATTERY

After attempting to contact them via phone and online chat, I decided to ship it myself. I sent it via Fedex so I could track it and it required a signature.

About two weeks after they received the battery, they refunded 90% of the purchase price. Note that this was within the 100% refund, pre-paid return warranty period.

The deduction was for not returning the single-sheet, photo-copied, generic battery charging instructions that came with the battery.

Net cost of the 100% satisfaction guaranteed battery? $30 -- the cost of shipping the battery back and the restocking fee. It really wasn't worth it. After reading other return reviews, I'm glad I got anything back.
