"While the prices were great, my order sat, ready to be shipped, for 4 days. I had ordered it with Overnight Shipping, so I had expected to wait at most 2 (in case my order missed the truck on the day I ordered it). I am not sure I will shop here again."

"I ordered a CPU and memory from this company which did not arrive until 21 days after I placed the order on their website. My computer would not boot with the CPU and memory they sent me so I emailed them several times to request help and then finally to request return instructions. I received no response after 2 weeks so I returned the entire shipment to them by UPS. They did not credit my credit card account after they received the returned items so I disputed their charge with my credit card issuer. They immediately called me when they got the chargeback from their bank. To my surprise, they claimed that they had not received the returned shipment at all despite UPS records showing their delivery signature for the return shipment. They then contested the chargeback on the basis that they had not received the merchandise back (despite their signature in UPS records) and also because I had violated their return policy by not obtaining an RMA number from them within 10 days of placing the order. In my situation, requesting an RMA number within 10 days of order placement would have been impossible since I did not receive my order until 21 days after placing the order. Some 4 months later, they now admit to receiving the returned shipment, but now claim that some items were missing. So, this is yet to be resolved."

"I was looking to upgrade the processor on my laptop. I decided the cheapest route to go other than ebay was a search on pricewatch.com. The item I was looking for was a Pentium m 735, and pricewatch returned approximately 5 different stores selling this processor. I didn't recognize any of the websites that were selling the processor, as it was not a popular item. I buy computer stuff off of newegg all the time, but they didn't carry the 735 I was looking for so this is where laptops4me came in. The website, laptops4me.com had the lowest price by far (20 dollar less than the second best) so I went with the cheapest buy. The item shipped pretty fast (within 2 days) and I received it within a week. But to my surprise, when I opened the box the processor number was 740 and not the 735 I selected on the site! So I went back to the website and sent an RMA request to the RMA request email address with no response within a week. For the next month I sent about 6 different emails to the website email and RMA email address with no response from anyone!!! I was about to give up hope when I noticed a phone number that hadn't been there the previous week so I called and got in contact with one of the employees. He told me that the RMA had been authorized, but I had never received the email with instructions on how to proceed. If I had not called them, I'd still be waiting."

"Purchased Vosonic VP6230 (photo viewer, music player) w/40GB hard drive. Unit received powered up but failed to format internal hard drive per instructions. Laptops4me said I had to contact Vosonic. Vosonic helped me upgrade firmware but hard drive still failed to format. Vosonic refused to replace hard drive (claimed they do not add drives to their units). Disk drive in VP6230 had no brand name--first time I've ever seen a hard disk w/o any brand info. Phil at Laptops4me finally agreed to replace unit and, via phone, said as soon as he received the failed unit he would overnight a replacement. Via email, Phil agreed to waive 15% restock fee.

Per FedEx, Laptops4me received the unit back on 23-Mar-2006. All subsequent emails have gone unanswered, and now my email to them is bouncing. I tried two final times via phone to resolve this, and Phil kept promising to send a unit and email me, but this still has not happened. This evening, I've started the dispute process with Visa.

(Costco is selling an 80GB version of this unit under the "Wolverine" brand. Guess I'll have to buy that one instead. It has twice the disk space, but it's got a bright red cover, which rather skews accurate photo viewing.)

Update: 06-Apr-2006

After notifying Laptops4me.com (via email from my work account) that I was posting a review here and would not accept any further packages from them, I began getting very nice emails from "Laptops4me Management" with the reason for the delay, the anticipated delivery date and, another with the tracking number for delivery.

The person even followed up the day after delivery to see if everything was okay. That was great. All I wanted was a little info and some help with a prompt replacement. Thanks, Laptops4me.com.

"I placed an order for a motherboard that was shown as in stock. My order status is still pending, so I gave them call to make sure everything was okay. They stated the motherboard was not in stock but they already charged my account. I asked how can I cancel the order and the CSR stated that I would receive email about the order. I have a funny feeling about this order after reading some of the horror stories here. I only live about 15 miles from the store so I will go and cause a scene if I don't receive a prompt response because now they have my money tied up and I need this motherboard for a replacement for a customer. I will update this review as it changes, that is why I have it neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.

Update: Well, my order has now changed from "pending" to "verified", whatever that means. I'm hoping it means that they have got on the ball about getting me the product or a refund.

Update2: Well, I received an email stating that the part would be available in a few days or they could just cancel the order. I chose the cancellation and my paypal account was refunded immediately. Although they still have the part listed as availble on their website.
