Bait and Switch Business

"They advertised a Samsung RAM stick but shipped a Hynix. Refused to accept that this was not acceptable, then proceeded to call me to harass me on the phone about it. Obnoxious is not a strong enough word. Do NOT provide your phone to this guy.

Lots of one star reviews here. That makes one suspicious of the other reviews. Other sites have nothing but negative reviews for Laptopsforless. Avoid this company.

"Ordered a laptop battery on 8/2/2015. I received a message that it was shipped on 8/3/2015 via UPS. On 8/6/2015, received an exception email from UPS that the package was empty and they would notify the shipper. Now, when I try to get on the www.laptopsforless.com website, it is no longer a up. Now I get to see how I get my money back or try to get the battery. It is companies like this that really make internet sales scary.....I would be VERY leary of buying something from this company."

"I second what ficf wrote. Ordered a laptop battery. It was cracked when received and requested a return merchandise authorization, RMA. Received an automated reply with a number and that contact would be made the next business day. No contact so I called four days later. No answer to the call and was asked to send an email. Sent another email and received another automated reply but no contact again. The live chat hasn't been online during the very many times I accessed the website. Because of my experience it is my opinion that Laptopsforless.com is NOT a reputable merchant. "

"I am trying to return an item and received a reply with a ticket number. A representative will contact me no later than 1 business day. That was 2 weeks ago! Tryed on several occasions to call and talk to someone during normal business hours. No answer. The recording tells me to chat online. The chat is always offline. I am ready to report this business to the BBB. Will I buy from them again? NO!!!"

"I ordered a remanufactured dryer control board from LfL, after I installed it, it didn't work properly. I returned it and got a full refund. I'm writing a positive review because of how the refund got handled. Upon request I was promptly given an RMA#, shipped the item back without cost to me, and within a day of receipt of the returned board LfL acknowledged receipt of the board, tested it, and agreed it was defective. I got a full refund of my total purchase price including initial shipping. All of these steps got communicated to me via email. I know from experience that reman'd boards are often iffy, but I tried that route because the price was much better than OEM and LfL had the best price on reman'd boards. I know LfL didn't do the reman but I do hope they are monitoring their suppliers for quality control. Product quality is never going to be 100% from anyone, though, and all I ask is that if there's a problem I get a hassle free return and refund. That's what I got from LfL. One of the big risks in buying 'cheap' items is that you can get stuck with it if things don't work properly. But that risk gets reduced quite a bit if I know I'm dealing with a company that will 'make it right'. I'll keep these guys in mind for future purchases because they've proven to me they're a reputable company that will stand behind their stuff."

"I ordered a drum for my photocopier. Laptopsforless.com sent me an email the next day stating that the drums were discontinued and they would refund my credit card in 5 - 8 business days. That should have been a clue. A reputable business would not have even charged my credit card for something they didn't have.

When my credit card statement arrived almost a month later there was the charge but no credit. I emailed laptopsforless and received a reply that they , "sent this over to our accounting department to make sure this get's taken care of." Days later still no credit.

I think they rely on the thousands of people who don't reconcile their credit card statements to pull in lots of extra bucks.

I'm not going to wait for laptopsforless to do the right thing. They have clearly shown that they are no honest. I've contacted my credit card company and they have reversed the charge for me.

"Bought an iphone 4 8g for $149 for Christmas gift..got it and it was locked with another persons apple Id and when I returned it and stated so expecting another phone or refund instead I received the same phone back and a note saying I was a liar telling me it was not the same phone:/ needless to say I reported them to Amazon and they refunded me..disgraceful conduct!!"

"Purchased an Apple IPod for $140 for Christmas and received an IPod refurbished with counterfeit parts. Device also failed to connect to Itunes so being unable to use fake I returned it and only received $126. I suffered a loss of $14 for item and $10 from shipping and an unusable Christmas gift because Laptops for Less is selling IPods with counterfeit parts. Reading other reviews online tells me this is a common issue with this company."

" Note: In this process I have learned that NO company has the authority to refurbish Apple products but Apple. This company laptopsforless is a fraud and I had to get the Better Business Bureau involved just to get a return label for a counterfeit product they sold me. Here's the story...
I ordered an iPod Touch Gen4 refurbished for a Christmas present for my daughter. It took 3 weeks to arrive, and I put it under the tree. On Christmas day she opened it and was very excited.
She immediately started using it. Within a day she had everything set up and started downloading apps. That's when the trouble started. She was not able to download a couple of popular apps. Then she discovered it would not update the iOS. So we took the item to the local Apple Store to ask some questions.
We were told they could do nothing for us because the iPod was refurbished with counterfeit parts. So on 12/28/13 I contacted laptopsforless via their customer service email - per their website instructions - to say I needed to return the item. No response. I contacted them several more times. No response.
I called the company. I was told they had never received any of my emails. I verified I sent the emails to the correct address. The lady I spoke with said she would email me a return authorization and a UPS shipping label, so I could return the item with no charge to myself. The first email came within an hour. It came from the same email address I had sent all my messages to. The shipping label was not attached and never came.
Numerous calls to their customer support line went unanswered. Though I always left my name and number they never responded. One time I actually got a person, who told me the UPS shipping label had been sent to me the same day as the return authorization. She asked me for a different email address to send it to and promised I would have it that same day. I gave them 3 email addresses, none of which ever received an email from the company of any sort. The shipping label never came. Nothing.
Since then I have called again several times. No one has ever answered the phone. No one has ever responded to my voice-mails.
The only reason I am giving this company 1 star is because there is no method to give them 0. I have never experienced such incredibly terrible customer support. It appears their business model is to sell counterfeit products and then avoid returns whenever they are caught. I have tried to return the product, with no luck.
So I tried going through my credit card company to get my money back.
Follow-up: The credit card company resolved the dispute in favor of laptopsforless because the company said they had complied with all Visa guidelines. Clearly a false statement. So I finally got the BBB involved. They suggested I get written proof from Apple that the item sold me was a counterfeit. The local Apple store was only too happy to oblige, as they want to rid the market of counterfeit products, especially those that don't work. Thus through the help of the BBB, and only through their help, I finally received from laptopsforless a UPS return label, and immediately shipped the item back.
At the time of this writing it is too early to see if they will actually honor the return and refund my money. The BBB case is still open.
Again, if I could rate anything about this company a zero or less, I would gladly do it.

"was concerned with buying a control board for my 6yr old Whirpool Accubake oven @ home from a company with the name Lap Tops for Less you would think from their name they are a lap top company for lap tops. But while searching Amazon for the part i needed this company popped up as a cheaper place to buy a 400.00 part. Guess what they had the part that others were selling for 350.00 and up & the manufacturer wanted over 600.00 well i got that control board from Lap Tops for Less for under a 100.00 bucks.it arrived today & i put it in the stove & all works lovely now. & if i am ever in need of a part agan i will be looking to this company again. I am very satisfied. Thanks for saving Thanksgiving dinner at our house."

"I was asked to provide my drivers license for a $150 purchase. Tanya let me know that they required this before my purchase would be released due to fraudulent activity this day and age. My fiancé and I purchased a home in July, so neither one of have a drivers license showing our new home address where the item was being shipped. After I questioned why I needed to provide my license after I already paid for the item, Tanya let me know her "investigation" did not associate either of our names to the shipping address. I do not like being accused of fraudulent activity. I requested the order to be cancelled and attached the top portion of our most recent bank statement addressed to both of us, to the shipping address. She gladly cancelled the order without any apology or offer to put the order through. Her emails were negative with a rude connotation, not needed for an online shopping experience. Will not be giving this site a thought in the future."

"I placed an order on 9/5/13 and on 9/18/13 I still don't have it. I called the company several times and they have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Their customer service reps have argued with me and have hung up on me along with having horrible attitudes. They claimed that the website notified me before making the purchase that it was out of stock, which it did NOT. They have now supposedly shipped my order and it left Texas on the 12th and now its gone to Indiana for whatever reason and were are in Arizona. We will never be ordering from this company again."

"The lights in my Whirlpool Gold refrigerator were flickering when the door was opened and a chattering noise was coming from the refrigerator. Traced the noise back to the Electronic control Board. Removed the ECB and inspected it. The solder at the back of the board was burnt in one place. Ordered a reconditioned ECB from LapTopsForLess. Took care of the sound but MISTAKE. Now my fridge is building up frost between freezer and fridge, evidently the reconditioned ECB was faulty and unfortunately it takes a month or so for this to reveal itself. Therefore, I am out the money because of their return policy. Ordering a new part from another supplier that was more reasonably priced for new. Lesson...don't buy reconditioned products from Laptops For Less."
