"just like these guys i have also suffered the wrath of leadteks complacency, the nightmare began one year after i had purchase a 6800GT TDH, when my card crashed, i went to leadteks website for support. what i found was NOTHING!!!
i had to go to google and find the number off a forum which had simalar problems.
then when i called, i was greeted by JOHN's answering machine at 10AM!!! again, i tried calling and finally after 5 messages, i get a reply. the rma started and i though that the worst was over. only to find that it was jsut the begining.
long story short... it took 3 RMA and still not a single working video card. i thought it was my motherboard because the bios didn't load. but after buying a new videocard from another company. my computer was running normally again.
i never got my warrenty honored and i will buy form them again.
side note. the most frusating thing about them is that the customer service was hard to get a hold of. the company is really smaller than you would think. and john said that he would personally check out the card before he send it to me. and what do you know DEAD ON ARRIVIAL.
never even got my money back or anything for that matter except a dead video card."
"LEADTEK IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER
I have (had) a 6800GT that I had to RMA around over a dozen times. Over half the time, they sent me a defective card as a replacement. Never buy their crap. "
"I would not recommend anyone purchasing a Leadtek product. Last year I purchased a Leadtek video card with the Nvidia 6800 GT chip. Less than one year later it failed and I was given an RMA number by Leadtek. I sent it back and within one month I received a card back. After installing it I fould it to be defective. They offered to send me a part to repair the card myself. Go figure. No quality control at all. NOT RECOMMENDED!"
"I purchased a Leadtek A400le from newegg for a amazing price at the time (yes, even at the LE price) in their refurbished section. After recieving I found a capacitator loose and broken off inside the antistatic bag. I continued to install it, and found that it would freeze after about 10 minutes into any 3d game. I originally went to newegg to have it replaced, and discovered that there is only a refund policy on OEM items. I decided to contact LeadTek for a RMA instead, as I got a very good deal on it through newegg, and I would not be able to purchase a equal card again without adding double the price. They (LeadTek) within the next day sent me a RMA number and instructions. I mailed it out Priority Mail with insurance -and- delievery confirmation, so I was protected from them jerking me around, or so I thought. A replacement (not a repair) was sent back out to me 1 day after they received it, and I was notified by UPS with a tracking number, a -ground- tracking number. Expected delivery was in 8 days. It finally came on the 8th of November. I installed it, making sure I was grounded and with the utmost care. Powered on the system, and nothing but a jarbled image on the screen. I checked the connections again, tryed reseating the card. Nothing. Very unacceptable. I am only hoping that newegg will work with me on letting me do a refund through them still. The RMA I did have open with newegg, but then deicded to go through leadtek, ironically expired the day I recieved the 'new' card."
"Purchased a Leadtek 6600GT video card from NewEgg last Jan 05. Ran good or 6 months and died. Called Leadtek trying to get repair service and even offered to pay for repair. But being military and stationed in Korea, they told me they would not help me. They lost a customer. For life!!!!"
"As many other people have stated, Leadtek RMA department is most likely one of the least customer service friendly and incompetent staff that a customer would have to deal with.
Long story short is that I have filed a BBB complaint and will seek other action if this is not resolved, I might even recommend all of us who have been frauded by Leadtek to file a class-action lawsuit (my e-mail is ****@****).
My RMA for my Leadtek A400 video card has been with Leadtek for almost a month and still no updates or status and with phone calls just giving me lie after lie (in broken english to add).
RMA#071805-07"
"This company stands behind thier product. Sent in my Video card for replacement. No problems, no hassel they sent another card. I have also used their tech department and had a great experience with them. I will buy everything I can Leadtek. Ecxellent company to do business with."
"I purchased the Leadtek A280 LE Video card and actually I believe it is a relatively good card but ran into a problem on video capture with a white bar in the middle of the captured video.
I explained the problem to Leadtek along with telling them that the updated driver for this card will not open after the download.
The response was absolutely 0 (nothing).
Too late I read other reports here and it appears that Leadtek will not provide any support for their products.
Also on the driver update they have mirror sites at Taiwan and US but the US site is dead."
"i have been in the rma process with these guys for 5 months now, i spent 2 months trying to get a rma number from these people.... 3 months "and counting" trying to get a response after i sent the card!
I have been trying to get a response from these people for almost 3 months to find out my status, i have still heard nothing.
Buyers beware, better cross your fingers and hope that you never have to rma through them."
"I bought a video card from them and it went out on me and I kept getting white lines all over my screen. I tried to RMA it and after a month and a half I finally get a replacement and what do you know. This video card is screwed too. Everytime I played a game it crashed, the video card's bios didn't even show at startup. I argued and argued w/ Leadtek and they wouldn't send me a replacment. Every week they said, well we will get another one next week and they did that to me for about 6 weeks. I told them I would post on www.eocf.com how horrible they were and recommend that none of them buy their products anymore and still they didn't care so I did so and they still wouldn't replace my product then finally I told them I was going to call the Better Business Bureau and after that I finally got a card. This company is a rip off. Feel very lucky if you don't have to go through their RMA dept...I highly recommend NOT BUYING THEIR STUFF."
"I tried to return a motherboard that was defective to Leadtek RMA department. I got their RMA fax and sent it back according to their instruvtions. I sent it insured via USPS and never heard from Leadtek again. I called the four times and could not get anyone from the RMA department on the line and left four messages without a callback. I finally got a hold of them on 30 Dec and Carmen said that they :never got it" which was absolute BS. I got a receipt from the Post Office and I faxed it to Carmen at the RMA department. She promised to send a new board out on the next day and call me with a tracking number. She never called. I called her back and miraculously got her on the line. She said she never promised to call me back. She also did not have any information on my RMA and said that she would call me back the same day. Once again, she never called back. I will never buy another Leadtek product and I am considering filing mail fraud charges against them."
