I rented Friday to Sunday (3 days) and the lens arrived at my workplace on Wednesday and I had all Monday to return it. Royal mail special delivery didn't get the lens back to them until Weds morning and rather than hitting me with late fees they sent an email with a claim form so I could claim from royal mail.

Gear rental is expensive but service like this without huge deposits, security checks and difficult inflexible terms for receipt and return make it a viable option. The lens (70-200mm 2.8) arrived in a very hefty plastic flight case which meant it cost me £24 to return. Factor this in to your costs!"
