The equipment arrived ahead of schedule, completely clean and nicely packaged. And when we found we needed one other item for our out-of-state shoot, their customer service team shipped it to that location for us, and we were able to conveniently return it all together with the provided packaging. (Heck, they even furnished packing tape for the return boxes!) Personally, I can't see how online equipment rental could get much better than this. As I said, we're not huge renters, but I'll definitely be back the next time I encounter a similar need."
"It’s the delimmia most photographers eventually find themselves in - you decide to buy a new lens, you do all the research, you understand your needs and your skills, and you get your list down to two or three choices and that’s the problem. Those two or three lens options are all great on paper. If only you could try them out first. This is where LensRental.com comes in.
I wanted to buy a new lens but I was stuck picking one lens from a list I got down to three choices. The problem is that all three choices were really good for my needs and I just couldn’t decide. At the same time, I had a big photoshoot coming up so I decided to make the most of the situation and look up a lens rental site. Eventually I settled on LensRental.com and I am so glad I did.
LensRental.com had all three of the lenses I was considering so I rented all three for 15 days for about $300 (a faction of the cost of just one of the lenses). They came by Fedex and I had to sign for them, which is what I prefer - wouldn’t want someone stealing thousands of dollars worth of lenses off my porch. The box contained a hard case that carried the lenses, a return postage label, and even tape to reseal the box when it came time to return them. I especially appreciate the hard case which made carrying them all over much easier. The lenses themselves were great and if the items were used then I certainly couldn’t tell. After the 15 day rental period, I simply put the hard case with lenses inside back in the box, resealed it, put the postage label over the old one, and dropped the box off at a fedex store (getting a receipt, of course). And that was that - easy.
Now I know exactly what lens I’m going to buy and the photoshoot was a massive success. I really felt I got my money’s worth.

"I have rented a few other times from Lensrentals and I'm always really impressed. I have even been late to return my lenses and they are always willing to work with me. This time I rented a lens, it was returned with a broken lens hood. I did not actually take the lens hood out of the box or packing when I used the lens. I explained the situation to them and they offered to split the cost with me. They did send a picture of the lens hood broken and I'm not sure if it was broken in shipping or what, but they definitely worked through the issue with me.
