"I am very disappointed with Living in Comfort. I placed an order for a temporarily out of stock jogging stroller on April 25th because LIC had it for the best price. The LIC website clearly states that the order will not be billed until after the item ships. I was billed on April 25th, I contacted LIC about being billed. I was told I would be credited, as of the end of day May 1 I have still not been credited for the error. Joyce assured me that I would receive a credit, but I have not.

I was told by Jenny that I could cancel the order if I was unable to wait for it. We are military and our move was unexpectedly moved up two weeks, so now I'm unable to wait for an item that won't be in for another week. I have made at least 7 contact attempts with LIC throughout the day on May 1st in an attempt to cancel my order. They claim they will respond within 24 hours. During my previous contacts with LIC they responded within 12 hours. May 2 is a Saturday, so I'm looking at 48+ hours before they attempt to contact me.

LIC only has email, but I found a phone number for them online. That number goes directly to an answering machine that isn't monitored.

Now, I'm taking this matter to my credit card company and filing a dispute for the charge. I'm still attempting to confirm cancellation, but am not holding my breath. We're moving and I'm concerned that they are going to try and ship anyway causing me a huge problem. I considered this item canceled, they sure have been told enough times, but who knows what they are thinking.

At this time, I don't recommend this vendor to anyone. They seem to have shady business practices. If my opinion changes, I'll update this review, until then avoid Living in Comfort.

Updated May 9, 2009:
The credit to my account for the purchase posted on May 6th, which is 8 business days after I was incorrectly billed and informed the first time I would receive a credit. Odds are no one processed the credit until I canceled the order.

Jordan did contact me in a timely manner to confirm order cancellation, but I'm disappointed in his 'reprimand' below for basically saying I was wrong to have placed the order in the first place. At the time I ordered, I had plenty of time for delivery, my move date change was beyond my control.

In the end, I'm very doubtful that I'll order from Living in Comfort in again. The customer isn't always right, but never appreciates being told she's wrong for ordering. Life happens and there are many factors beyond our control. I'm grateful that this matter is finally resolved to my satisfaction.

"Disaster with extra disaster on top! To hit the highlights: I ordered a glider from Living in COmfort because they promised it in 2-3 weeks, much faster than elsewhere (even if slightly more expensive) and we physically need it right away. It of course did not arrive on time, and in fact took more than double that time. If I hadn't emailed them repeatedly it never would have come. They don't answer the phone, so you have no recourse but to keep emailing. My glider finally arrived about 6 weeks late. And no suprise, its damaged. I sent pictures of the damage right away, but they of course they have not responded for over a week. What a nightmare. RUN RUN faster from this store. There are cheaper and more reliable merchants out there. "

"Ordered a Panasonic Massage Lounger on March 17. They had the best price. (Actually, a few sites had the same price, on the others it was more expensive.)

Their website says "usually takes 1-2 weeks." My order came in almost 3 weeks. BUT, I have to say -- the chair is amazing. I had tried it out in the mall but it feels even better in my house."

A few days late but other than that I am very satisfied with purchasing from Living in Comfort.

"I placed my order on the website for a mattress for my daughters new crib. I could have ordered this mattress along with the crib from BabysRus but Living in Comfort saved me $10. I'm an IDIOT! I received a shipping confirmation email with no tracking numbers on 4/13, immediately responded to that email asking for tracking numbers. Joyce responded saying that email was sent to me in error and the manufacturer had been contacted. She assured me that once the tracking numbers were received they would be sent to me. I have now sent 4 emails, placed numerous calls to several numbers and have not heard back. I feel completely scammed. Now, my 11 month old daughter has a bed, received and assembled but no way to sleep in it. Who's going to turn to my kid and explain why mommy can't afford another mattress and why she can't sleep in her bed? It is now April 21st, and the statement that says "products are shippid 24-72 hrs" after order is placed, a complete fabrication. I need help! While Joyce was here responding to a poor customer review on 4/20, she surely was not responding to my email sent directly to her on 4/16. Or my two subsequent emails sent via the website. "

"Wish I'd read these reviews prior to placing an order with Living In Comfort. After 2 weeks, I still have not rec'd a tracking number, nor my order. But they took my money right away, which is against their written policy. I have not gotten a clear answer from any of my four emails asking when is my order being delivered? They have my number, but have yet to call me.

I tried to contact them by phone. Their website only lists a fax number, but this is their phone number for those who need it: ***-***-****. Rest assured, they never answer it. Let's put these people out of business.

When I make a $5 purchase from places like Amazon I get a confirmation and tracking number within 24 hours. I have been patient with LIC for 2 weeks. At this point, I believe they are frauds. People like them make it hard to do business over the Internet.

Today, I filed a complaint with my bank, who reversed the $668.95 charge to my account. They are investigating LIC. I also filed a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). They are investigating LIC as well.

"I have had a very bad experience with this company. Although they do answer my emails, after I figured out not to go through the website, I have just been given promise after promise of when my furniture will ship. It has now been 2 months since I ordered, and I might add they charged my credit card on the day I ordered.I don't think I will ever get the furniture, and hopefully will get my money back. Well, I finally got most of my money back, they gave it to me in increments and it took almost two weeks to get most of it back. They did keep $16 for what reason I do not know. But if you think about it if they kept $16 from 1000 people that would be alot of money. I have repeatedly asked for my $16 to no avail or response. I guess they need to get something for the lousy service. I would never ever use this company again or reccomend them."

"Horrible service, well actually no service. A vm msg saying to email website does not classify as customer service (this recording runs during their "normal business hours". They have yet to reply to any emails I have sent about the item that was ordered and yet to received. The two times that I was able to talk to someone they told me that my order was to be rec'd on x date. The day has come and gone. I will never purchase anything from them again. I wonder if they aren't just a big scam and I will never get the sofa that was purchased at all? "

"I ordered a blanket over three weeks ago and still have not received it. I have tried to contact them via phone and e-mail to find out the status and have received no response!!! Their customer service response when sending an e-mail states they will get back to you in 24 hours. It has been 10 days and I have not heard from anyone. Now I am having to fill out a dispute with my credit card company. It has been very frustrating.
3/1/2009. I am laughing at their response. They answer my review saying they have no control over the shipping. However, they do have control over their customer service. No on answered the phone and no one responded to three e-mails and three VM's sent over a three weed period with a specific invoice number asking politley about the status of the order. The only repsonded when I informed them I had contacted the credit card company. HORRIBLE online company. There are a lot of similar stories to mine. Would NEVER do business with them again

"My husband ordered the Perfect Chair for my birthday and the C/Card was immediately charged. After a week of calling and the phone ringing out, he finally got Joyce on the line and asked for confirmation email, which he got. After 3 weeks of nothing further, and about 4 days of he and I phoning constantly, Joyce eventually decided to answer the phone and told us the factort in California (we're in CT) was closed and would open 12 noon our time and she would call me 12:30pm that day. Needless to say, after me calling the rest of the afternoon and following morning, she then decided to answer the phone again and tell me the factory was closed right now and she could not get hold of anyone. This was now 4 weeks after the order was placed so I cancelled the order and - take note - got *written confirmation of the cancellation and that my c/card would be credited within 4-7 business days*. 10 business days later, I had spent 2 days trying to get someone to answer the phone to no avail. Then I got a call from Rapid Express telling me they had a chair to deliver - when would I be home? My order had never been cancelled despite written confirmation! By this time I was so happy to have the blasted chair I took delivery of it. Then I got a call from the factory themselves saying that "Joyce from Living in Comfort called them to say I was refusing delivery of the chair". I was sitting in the chair when I took the call! So I very politely told this lady at the factory to seriously consider dropping Living in Comfort from their client base to avoid soiling their reputation. The kicker? The factory had not been closed at any point. Way to go, Joyce. Great Customer Service. Use this company at your own peril."

"Ordered a Kelty tent from them that was listed as shipping in 3-5 business days. Having not received any updates (there are no online tools to check order status), I called in after 6 business days to check the status of my order and was told it would be another 2 weeks before it would ship. The lady I spoke with was polite and offered to cancel my order, which I did. Note that they do charge your credit card immediately, regardless, apparently, of when the item might actually ship."

"Don't waste your time with this company. advertised 2/3 shipping, but after waiting 48 hours, I inquired only to get email shipping would take 1-2 weeks even tho my credit card was charged. "Wow, I wish I would have seen these reviews before making my order. I made the order over two weeks ago and have made several calls/e-mails to their customer service. "DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
I spent $380 on a Bosch mixer for my large family and I STILL have not received a tracking number or any delivery info. I have emailed them several times, have left messages on their machine and been all day trying to reach them and the phone just rings out.
Do you want to order from someone who can't even run their business. This is a total scam! A C/C dispute will be pending, but you can't place one until 30 days after order.
