"I made a small purchase from these people over a year earlier, and when something went wrong and my purchase didn't go through for some reason (it should have) they used info I had previously given them and reached into my bank account and overdrew my account. They also charged me a $ 26 fee for who knows what. Had they called me or merely canceled the order, I would/could have straightened it out and would have reordered or whatever I needed to do. Now, I will never purchase anything from these people ever again."
"Same as others: LS is weak. Bought coupon in Nov 2010. Had real bad experience with vendor so asked to cancel w/in 24 hours documenting rudeness of Sizzle and Sear vendor. No worries for LS ie happens but hallmark of good company is how they handle issues. LS says will refund $65. Finally, 4 months later, I get $65 check that BOUNCES!! Well, 2 months later (>6 months from original purchase/cancellation), I finally get a check after 6 phone calls and bumping issue to supervisors. But check is for $65 and ignores $12 bounced check fee from my bank despite mailing them ORIGINAL Notice of charge to them. Summary, 6 months, over 10 calls, 1 bounced check, no service from vendor, and I'm out $12 bucks (assuming 2nd check doesn't bounce). Money is not issue but LS is questionable. Avoid this IPO (I was investment banker/research analyst for 20 years). Groupon much better business model."
"Living Social is a JOKE! I purchased something 9 days ago and immediately changed my mind. I contacted them requesting a refund and was told no such action needed to occur since my card hadn't been charged. Next day I find that Living Social charged my card twice, even tried a third time but my financial institution blocked the third attempt. I have waited 9 days for my money to be returned to my bank and nothing is happening, I keep getting bounced back between Living Social and now my bank, each one is saying its the others responsibility to release the funds. I am FURIOUS to say the least and still out $258 when the original deal was $129. "
"I gave living social a shot when they were running their amazon gift certificate deal. The one where you could buy a 20 dollar gift certificate for 10 bucks. Like many others, I tried to buy more than. Yes I admit that I created 10 accounts just for the sole purpose of buying 10 gift cards. The next day I get an email for each of my account saying that I tried to buy more than 1 gift card so they're not going to sell it to me. "Oh well. It was worth a try" I thought. Then I check my bank account and it turns out living social charged me 30 dollars!! Yet, when I checked all 10 of my accounts, I only got 1 gift card!. Quick math: I got one 20 dollar gift certificate and had to pay 30 bucks for it. After several emails (mind you, living social takes 3 weeks to respond to your email compared to Groupon which only takes 2 days max) Living Social has not acknowledge overcharging me even though I sent them the name of all 10 of my accounts and screenshots of my bank account. I'm out 10 dollars now. Who knows how many people living social robbed by now?"
"They're really bad for small service, appointment-based businesses. Beware if you are considering doing a deal. Living Social pressure merchants into offering their services at 50% of their regular rates, then takes 50% of THAT! So, businesses really only get 25% of their regular rate.
The quality of the clientele is what you might except: mostly people that "coupon hop" and are not loyal to anyone except where ever the can get the next deal from, and many are overly demanding.
Never again! My experinece as a business owner has also made me reconsider the impact of purchasing these on a business and less likely to buy the deals offered.

"Ordered a restaurant coupon. It hit my credit card right away. Email for the coupon would not open or print. Customer service said they had no such order, even AFTER I sent them their own email. I emailed that I wanted a refund on my card four business days ago and nothing from them since. I disputed it on my card to stop payment. STAY AWAY. "
"Horrible. There is no order confirmation. period. It is a total scam and I believe they just try to resell your credit card/email address to make money. I had to report a lost credit card to control the damage. Watch out!!"
