"I purchased a voucher, $1 for $10 worth of takeout food. I decided to use it on my mobile site, and the problem was that the voucher number wasn't showing and so I couldn't apply it to my order. So I assumed that maybe the voucher was automatically applied. Later on I realized that it wasn't. There was no phone number to contact them at that late, so I had to send them an email. They got back to me in OK time, and they credited $10 to my account. Experience wasn't very bad, but could've been better."
"This is the worst company, business, unprofessional, cheap and worst marketing website for any promotions or services. No courtesy on phone, no friendly or responsive communication, terrible service to keep customers happy. I thought groupon was bad, but this Living social even worse! No responses, and if they finally do respond they are so unfriendly with customer care. They just want to rip you off to make you believe that what they're promoting is amazing but little do you know that the companies they're promoting are all scams! Thats why they only give u 7 days to refund, so that you wont have enough time to realize what you bought is a scam!
TERRIBLE SERVICE and Policy! I will never deal with them again, neither will all my friends, which experienced the same thing!
THUMBS DOWN!! Don't expect customer satisfactory
Here's a little advice to maybe keep your customers satisfied, give them what they paid for!! Otherwise REFUND THEM what they paid for!"
"I have received/purchased 4 Living Social Advertisement Vouchers for various offers and have had problems with ALL 4.
1st one – kept cancelling appointments – took me 4 times and having to get rude to get them to keep the appointment.
2nd one was a gift for friends and when they went the facility was CLOSED DOWN AND CHAINED UP
3rd one – It has taken 3 months of stress and again having to get rude to get an appointment set up – we’ll see if they show.
4th one – Is this one
I want my money back. The deals are FALSE ADVERTISING and the stress and time I am taking in the mornings, on lunch breaks, in the evenings and week-ends to use them is not worth any advertised savings if they ever respond.
They have refused to give my money back, they want me to accept more Living Social credits. I have absolutely no desire to ever to any business with this group again.
HORRIBLE COMPANY. This is the 2nd time this has happened with LIVING SOCIAL! FALSE ADVERTISING!!! I purchased a Living Social coupon in March 2012 for Adler's Contracting and have been leaving messages for them to contact me on the phone number provided as well as multiple e-mails. NO ONE has responded to my many, many calls and multiple e-mails to schedule the advertised offer for painting and
the coupons expires in Sept. BUYER BEWARE!!!! WITH THIS COMPANY AND LIVING SOCIAL. I have also been contacting Living Social who refuses to refund my money, claims they will contact me back and never do, I finally started keeping written names and dates of who I've spoken with and as of today my 3rd call to them they still refuse to refund my money. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING THROUGH LIVING SOCIAL is my recommendation.
GROUPON and RESTAURANT.COM are GREAT!! I've never had any problems with the offers on their sites."
"I'm warning all of you - DO NOT do business with Living Social!!!
I filed a complaint with the BBB on July 27, 2012, and still no response from LS unless you count the fake ass apology in response to the emails I sent their customer service and posts I left on their wall also on July 27. Of course, an apology doesn't get me my money back for the service I never received, and they refuse to reimburse me.
Every day they don't respond to my concerns and the many other customers who are unfairly experiencing the same treatment, I post a warning on their FB wall to potential and current consumers. Every day I look at their wall, there are more and more complaints about people getting ripped off and Living Social not doing a darn thing about it. I post on every one of the unhappy customers' wall pleas to Living Social encouraging those customers to also file a complaint with the BBB. As of now, the BBB has recorded more than 503 complaints since the BBB granted Living Social accreditation three years ago - more than 400 of which were filed this year alone and about 20 of which have been filed since I started my "campaign" on July 27, 2012.
It is disgusting a business can consistently advertise vendors who scam people out of their hard earned money and think they are absolved of any and all responsibility. Living Social makes a 50 percent profit off of each deal they help the vendor sell, so they are at least 50 percent responsible for ensuring customers are treated appropriately and provided with the best possible service. Yet, their Website says they will only reimburse within the first seven days a deal is purchased if the customer "changes" their mind. Furthermore, the vendor doesn't get paid for the deals bought until the Living Social coupon is marked "redeemed" or at least six months after the deal has been purchased for those deals with less stringent requirements. So in many cases, Living Social has the money to refund but refuses to unless it falls within the seven day window for people with a case of buyer's remorse.
Enough of these large corporations taking advantage of consumers and not being held responsible. It ends here and now!!!"
"Living social is a sham! I ordered tickets to cirque du Solie based on their promise to deliver the tix within 5 days. An important factor because I intend to give them as a gift in 7 days. Two weeks later no tickets. Several calls to LS unproductive. I will never use avian. They suck"
" I'm having the same problem everyone else on here is describing. Bought a $60 deal to a local company who it turns out will only accept appointments by telephone for the voucher (for a car detailing??). They have never answered their given phone number, and never return voicemails- similar problems were described on Yelp by other people. I contacted Living Social explaining the particular situation, only to receive a generic email stating they don't give refunds after a certain period of time. I am considering disputing the charge with my bank, and even contacting the BBB after reading everyone else's similar situations. Living Social doesn't even answer their phone for 20 minutes, and then gives the same general disclaimer. Disappointed."
"poor customer service, I bought the item and payed for it, the payment is gone out of my account and the day after they refunded my money and say item is out of stock!!
AVOID IT!!!"
"Wish I had checked Living Socials rating first! I tried to make reservations for a Boise Party Bus wine tour 3 months in advance and was told they were all booked and would not extend the expiration date! Living Social would not issue a refund and the company said I could use the voucher toward wine. If I wanted wine I'd go to the store to buy it. They simply overbooked on purpose so they could sell wine! This to me is fraud. Living Social should stand behind their voucers. Like others I will only deal with Groupon from now on. They are the best. If a problem arises they take care of it. "
"I bought a voucher from living social which was not honored by the company listed. Living social refused to refund the price of the voucher because it was 9 days after the purchase. They insisted I would have to work it out with the merchant. I shouldn't have to do that--just give me my money back. The merchant will not honor the voucher code sent to me by living social. Stick with Groupon--they at least will refund your money."
"I will NEVER use LivingSocial again. I purchased 2 vouchers through them for what turned out to be a less than reputable merchant. I asked for and was granted a refund. 3 weeks later and I still haven't received the refund. I get conflicting answers from customer service and basically accused of trying to extort my $75 from them. And that's when I can get an answer. It takes 2 days for an email reply and 20 minutes of holding to get someone on the phone.
I've been told the refund went through to my card on file. Neither my bank nor I have any evidence of receiving the refund. Then I was told, no, it was sent to my purchasing card. I closed that card account EIGHT MONTHS AGO. I have applied for a chargeback through my bank and pray they'll help me where LivingSocial has clearly failed."
"First I want to mention, I use Groupon all the time and I love them. I had a few issues and they always immediately solved the problem. I never found any LivingSocial deals I had to have until 1 day in late February. I was currently enrolled in a language class and preparing to go to Italy in late April. Living Social offered a Level 2 class that would start after my current class, and lead right up to the week before I left. PERFECT!
I bought the LivingSocial deal and signed up for my class. All in late February. The class wasn't scheduled to start for another month. A week before the class was supposed to start, the group who actually was holding the class contacted me to tell me they had to cancel the class due to lack of participation. Because they had not received the LS money yet, I would have to contact LS directly.
I contacted LS and they said tough luck since I waited more than 5 days. What? I'm not the one who cancelled the class. They refused to refund me the money, went thought this whole song and dance, offered to escalate it, never did, many emails un-returned, many frustrating phone calls. Finally I disputed the charge with my credit card and they took care of it.
They even suggested I just wait for the next class and sign up then. Oh, you mean this summer when I've already gone to Italy and don't need the training anymore? DOH!"
"Bought one deal here. Tried to contact customer support. They gave me a generic reply and no help at all. Groupon or google offers are much better services."
"I bought two 'deals' from LS. I should have learned from the first time. This site is a rip-off!!!! They sell so many deals that the merchant is unable to meet the demand. The first deal ($30) I could never get through to the merchant for an appointment and they never returned my call. I called LS and they quickly gave me account credit for the $30. Knowing I had that credit and could not get a refund, I purchased another deal. Again, the merchant was very busy but scheduled the service for 2 weeks later. After he didn't show within that time period, I contacted him and he said he had 'issues with LS' and that he would not be able to get to us for another 2-3 weeks. This was 2 months after the purchase and completely unacceptable. When I contacted LS, Georgia was nice enough but said she could not do anything and would be submitting the request for refund to the consumer services department and they would get back to me within 1 business day. Three emails and 5 business days later, nothing. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the $65 ($95 less the $30 credit). They filed and contacted LS (telephone conference), some snotty guy ( I think James) said their policy is not to issue credit simply because the merchant is too busy. I explained that they had in the past and he flatly said they weren’t going to this time. My credit card company has issued credit for the $65 and hopefully I will eventually get the other $30 back. This site really does not care about customer satisfaction, its bad when even the merchants feel taken by LS. They just want the money and don’t care if the customer actually receives the service or product. I've used Groupon and Daily Deals with great success. Yes, I know what the refund policy is and I understand it but the company has to take some responsibility, its not OK to just sell a service and then say, sorry you cant get the service or product but its not our problem. Stay away from LS!!!"
"I've tried Living Social a few times. They're a scam. Overall, the quality of their merchants and their service is beyond poor, their merchants treat the LS voucher holders as if they're there on charity and once they divest you of your money, Living Social takes no responsibility whatsoever for the crap they sell vouchers for. To top that, their customer service and feedback mechanisms are nonexistent. In short, their prices may be low, but what they sell is worth even less, much less."
"Livingsocial.com sucks with their $20 CVS voucher for $10 deals which are for select customers only. Their take out food deals don't have any participating locations near me. Most deals I do "qualify" for suck. I won't ever buy anything from them."
