"I PLACED THIS ORDER AND PAID $564 FOR TWO PAIRS OF SHOES. I GOT A CONFIRMATION AND ORDER NUMBER VIA EMAIL. I CALLED TWO WEEKS LATER TO FIND OUT WHERE THE SHOES WERE AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE BACKORDERED. I HAVE TRIED CALLING THIS COMPANY AGAIN, AS I STILL DON'T HAVE THE SHOES, AND THERE IS NO ANSWER. THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF; THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT DON'T DELIVER. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I ONLY HOPE I GET MY MONEY BACK."

"What a pitiful excuse for an online store. I ordered a pair of shoes three weeks ago 6/5/06. They charged my credit card immediately. No shipment, no email as of today 6/26/06 so I called them to cancel the order. They then sent an email saying that my order was cancelled because the shoes were not available. Hmmm, seems as if they could have checked that three weeks ago before they charged my credit card."

"Hoping to have this particular pair of shoes in time to break them in and take them on a cruise at the end of May, I was thrilled to find them online with a 15% discount, no sales tax and free shipping. Having a good experience ordering online with other companies, I ordered.

Like others, my card was charged immediately. A confirmation email was sent, stating the shoes would be shipped within 10 business days and I would receive an additional email when they shipped.

By May 22, I still had no shoes, and no shipping email. I emailed to find out the status of my order and I heard nothing from them. Two days later, from a different email account, I emailed again. This time they simply replied that they were waiting on a shipment and that my shoes would be sent the following week.

We were to be on vacation that week, so I knew I wouldn't have my shoes in time, and I responded stating my disappointment. When we returned from vacation, I still had no shoes and no shipping email.

On June 8, I received an email from the shipper, DHL, that said my order would be delivered June 13.

So, SIX WEEKS later, I finally received my shoes. They are exactly what I had ordered. I just wish they had been delivered sooner.

"My experience was near identical to everyone else that has posted here. Credit Card charged immediately, requested updates regularly and politely put off everytime, a 5% discount offered when threatened to cancel order. The big difference was when I took my complaint directly to the owner rather that customer service. ****@****. It was shipped the same day."

"DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I made a purchase on 4/19/06 and today is 5/14/06 and still nothing. I keep getting a bunch of crap e-mails stating the shoes are on back order. THESE PEOPLE ARE IN A HABIT OF SELLING SHOES THEY DO NOT HAVE IN STOCK!"

"I have to agree with most of the reviews on this website. I think as well that lord johns footwear is extremely unprofessional. I also think as many others that they just take your money as an interest free loan. I ordered a pair of ecco shoes on March 1 2006. when I ordered them the website said they were in stock and would have them shipped out with the next bussiness day.(of course the same day I ordered them they charged my credit card.) On March 12 I emailed them and this is the email I recieved "Your order is backrodered utnill 4/1/06.We do have a size 14 in th ewarehouse.The size 49's are backordered with Ecco.Did you want to wait or cancel?Thank you." So I decided to wait (not very smart on my part) I called them back on April 4th and they told me they were again back ordered until April 15th. At that point I told them no send me my money back. The only think they did right was they told me that my credit card would be refunded in 3 bussiness days which they did. I would never ever do bussiness with them again in fact I too will contact the BBB and thell them of my woes so that no one else will have to go through the stuff that I and others have. It is no wonder that they supposdly give 15% off their shoes (I wouldnt know I never got any shoes)because they make it up in interest on your money because they keep it for so long. Please do yourself a favor dont do any bussiness with Lord Johns footwear!!! Buyer Beware!!

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LORD JOHN'S FOOTWEAR/MYSHOESTORE.COM

I would have to agree with the negative comments expressed by all here. This is an extremely unethical business with very dubious practices. I have to believe their prime concern is cash-flow, using the money of unsuspecting customers as an interest-free loan.

I ordered a pair of Earth shoes February 24th. I was supposed to have my order within 10 days. That came and went and when I contacted Lord they told me my order would go out with the next shipment. Same deal. I contacted them again and they emailed back that I could either cancel the order or they could credit my card with 5%. Foolishly, I opted for the 5%- which never appeared on my card. I discovered Resellerratings.com a little too late and found many customers had the same tale to tell.

After the second deadline came and went, I contacted them again, only to be told that Earth dropped the ball and the shoes were back-ordered. I contacted Earth and they said the shoes I ordered were their most popular and had been available in all sizes for months! Well, the April 3rd deadline came and went. I emailed them that day but did not hear back from them. April 4th I sent another email, then called them later that morning.

After checking on the order, I was told the shoes would go out 'this Friday'- four days after the last promise. I had enough and cancelled the order. I was told my card would be credited in 3 business days. If this happens, I will reply back with appropriate apologies- to the extent that they at least kept their word about something. I noticed that there were 13 complaints with the Better Business Bureau, all of which had a resolution, but what a crummy way to do business! Their emails don't even come back with anyone's name at the bottom- very slimy and unprofessional. I will never do business with them again. And Friday, when I presumably will be told another excuse, I will be contacting the BBB myself. Save yourself the headaches and only do business online with reputable members.

Follow up 4/7/06:
In all fairness, Lord John's DID refund my money promptly, crediting my card on Thursday, the third business day as promised. At least they kept their word on that. I don't know if it has anything to do with the strongly worded email of dissatisfaction or my emails to Earth about this vendor that had anything to do with it but nonetheless, the saga is over. I am going to purchase these same shoes from a different online vendor for $10 more. It may be the best $10 I ever spent.

"Extremely unethical business. They charge your credit card the minute you order and then take forever to ship your merchandise. I believe they are engaged in fraud and deceit. "Don't buy anything from Lord John's Footwear, (A.K.A. MyShoeStore.com) I ordered Dansko Clogs in December, order was confirmed immediately, with shipping confirmation to take a few days. My credit card was charged for the full amount at that time. More than a week passed without a shipping confirmation. They responded quickly to my email and told me the item was on back-order for shipment in January. They offered an added 5% discount to keep the order open. I took the deal and was told the credit would take 5-7 bus days to process. Never got that. After two more rounds of contact with the same outcome, I cancelled my order in February. It took a second try, but finally a cancellation was acknowledged. Again, their standard statement was 5-7 days to process the credit to my account. No reply. No credit. Had to get our credt card company on the case to get my money back. They replied quickly to all my e-mails, only to make promises they did not honor. Buyer beware. Don't buy anything from them."

"I would never buy from this web site again. I placed an order, and got an email from them that they got the order, and would ship in 5-10 business days. Apparently they use another web site name in addition to myshoestore. They claim they sent me an email a few days later telling me that they didn't have the boots I ordered in my size, and so were cancelling my order. But the second email was sent from the other web address. I get so much spam, that I never even read that email. When I sent myshoestore an email after more than 10 business days, the response I got was very cold and unsympathetic. They offered me nothing to make it up to me in any way. The response also came from the other address. Why they send an email confirming the order and giving me an invoice number when they don't even have the boots...I just don't understand it. Poor, sloppy business practices."

"These guys could not even get one pair of shoes out in 10 days. After I canceled they sent me an e-mail saying what I had ordered was "out of stock" so THEY had to cancel my order. This was suppose to be my e-mail confirming that I had canceled not them. Bad service."

"This company has abominable business practices and I would never shop with them again. I placed an order on Nov 27, received a confirmation email and my credit card was charged. However, the shoes did not ship, and I had to contact the company about the delay. I was assured they would ship on Dec 19, but almost three weeks after I placed the order it was cancelled because "the item selected is no longer available." Were they ever available - is this company simply incompetent or are they actually fraudulent? I placed my order at the website MyShoeStore.com, but it turns out this is LordJohn'sFootwear. Given the reviews listed under that name, I never would have knowingly ordered anything from them in the first place. "

"Bought a pair of sneakers 26 Sept '05, got them in 10 days but they didn't fit. Returned them and was promised a new pair in 10 days. I am still waiting. I called their listed phone number but no one answered. I emailed repeatedly, and was given one excuse after another. I was finally told they didn't have the shoes, but were waiting on a shipment. I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. It was promised in "5-10 business days." Last Thursday was 10 days, and I am still without a refund. The company is also no longer answering my emails. I wish I'd read these reviews earlier, too, but as another reviewer mentioned, I did not actually order my tennis shoes from Lord John's. "

"I ordered an expensive pair of ECCO shoes in October. In early December I finally received them. They never sent an email or made an effort to communicate. I had to called them and call them and call them. When I received the shoes, they were the wrong size. I called them again. They told me I could send them back, but it may be another 3 months before they could send out the correct size. I canceled the order. Find another place to buy. Their customer service reps are apathetic at best."
