Service was great, but sometime you can sit on hold when calling support for 30-45 mins. "I had another system and the DVR Server died and I went to price out the replacement and it cost more to replace the existing DVR Server than the entire Lorex system cost. I received the system and was amazed at how simple it was to set up. The App's are great and allows my family to view the camera's from anywhere. We set up the app on our iPad and we have access to view the camera's from anywhere in our home.
I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking to upgrade or change to a reliable simple system. "

"I purchased this as an upgrade to my analog system. Resolution is not a clear indication of picture quality as image processing has a lot to do with that. Overall I am pleased with it based on the price payed. Having the DDNS service provided free is a nice feature and the automatic port forward toll was pretty handy. Be aware the firmware on the website is actually older than what shipped on my NVR so double check before proceeding. I don't see an easy way to be able to log into the camera's directly to be able to change settings short of using a POE injector, unless there is no intention to log into the cameras like a traditional IP camera.
I like the mobile apps but wish there was a way to default to specific channels when they are opened. The menus are fairly straight forward but would recommend spending time going through each one to familiarize yourself as a few items are in spots you wouldn't expect.
Mine were branded Flir as opposed to Lorex which I preferred. The eyeball domes are of decent quality and I anticipate will last with the occasional lens wiping. Honeywell has cameras that look identical to these so not sure if these are made in house or?
Make sure you run the cd that is included in the camera boxes as it has links to software and documentation. The mobile apps use the sub stream so play with those settings under the recording tab to get a good balance between quality/bandwidth needs. The far right box under the stream settings must be checked to instruct the system to send the mobile stream out.
I would have liked a bit more settings to play with in regards to picture but overall I am content. The daytime footage is fairly crisp, nothing in the documentation indicates if there is a manual focus adjustment or if it is fixed from the factory. At night it is acceptable with no IR bleed/reflections as it is not a domed housing. There is some noise in the picture I would like to get rid of but the manual doesn't indicate if the gain setting will affect this or not?
I am giving it four stars overall as it is not the level of high end IP cameras but realize I paid less for the whole system what one single pro IP camera would cost.

"As far as I can tell, Lorex Technology is a 100% slick on-line scam that everyone should avoid.
I never received my order, I received no response to several e-mails, and the phone numbers given are apparently bogus.
I did receive e-mails acknowledging my order and encouraging me to buy more. When I tried to track my order, even a month later, it still said my order was still in the warehouse.
All inquiries about my order have been ignored. Customer service is nonexistent.
I would warn anyone to avoid having anything to do with this scam."
