"AMHERST NY STORE, KITCHEN COUNTERTOP, MOONSCAPE QUARTZ, LG. OMG. THE GUY CAME TO MEASURE, STAYED 1 1/2 HOURS, INSTALLATION WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT WEEK. 2 DAYS BEFORE INSTALLATION NO ONE HAD CALLED ME, I CALLED THEM, APPARENTLY THE GUY NEVER TOOK THE MEASUREMENTS?? OR AT LEAST HAD NONE, SAID A TABLE NEEDED TO BE MOVED AND STUFF TAKEN OFF COUNTERTOPS. I DID THE LATTER, HE NEVER TOLD ME THE FORMER, NOR HAD LOWES EVER HEARD OF THIS. IN MEANTIME PRODUCT IS ON BACKORDER FOR THE 3RD TIME. TOLD MY PAID RECEIPT MEANS NOTHING!!! MADE TO FEEL LIKE A LIAR, REFERRED TO IT AS A HE SAID SHE SAID. MORE LIKE A PAYING CUSTOMER, SUBCONTRACTOR ISSUE. LOWES SAID THEY WOULD DO "WHATEVER IT TAKES" TO MAKE ME A HAPPY CUSTOMER. THEY DID NOTHING, NO EXPLANATIONS, AND BECAUSE IT'S "TAX SEASON" MY INSTALLATION GETS BUMPED 5 WEEKS, THAT IS, IF THEY EVEN HAVE THE PRODUCT IN. LESSON LEARNED. DONT PAY FULL FOR A PRODUCT THAT IS ON BACKORDER AND DONT LET CONTRACTORS OUT OF YOUR SIGHT AND ASK THEM DID YOU DO YOU JOB BEFORE THEY LEAVE. IM GIVING THEM THE LOWEST RATING BECAUSE OF THE WAY THIS WAS HANDLED AND NO ONE IS TELLING A CONSISTENT STORY EXCEPT ME. "
"There is no customer service. Especially the one in Ontario, CA. Don't spend your time at Lowe's. Go to Homedepot, you'd get more professional contractors who is willing to help you and you'd be much happier there."

"If you didn't know better, you'd think that Lowes.com was actually run by a completely separate outfit that was entirely unrelated to the Lowes hardware chain.
Why? Because they're THAT out of sync.
I've placed several orders with Lowes.com, maybe a dozen in total. I've had issues with 10 of the 12, typically relating to inventory.
Shopping an online store with a B&M location is supposed to be a blessing; you have something you want to pick up right away, but it's in a store that you don't want to have to visit to make sure it's there. Sure, you could call your local Lowes and find a semi-useful employee who might be able to give you accurate information, but if you're into beating the odds, work on the lottery instead.
So you order online instead, figuring that the website would be integrated to the store's inventory system, and that it would only list things online that actually, you know, exist in the store. Good luck with that, too.
Of the orders I placed, the vast majority were not actually in stock. Making matters worse, this wasn't explained in an e-mail afterward; this was determined after I'd driven to the store, following receiving a confirmation e-mail from them that the item was actually ready for pickup!
And in one case, just to really get on my nerves - not only did I get a confirmation e-mail, but a phone call! 'Sir, we're just calling to let you know that your order is ready for pickup'. I arrive, to be told 'oh, we're sorry, that must have been in error'.
It's not that I don't like the store; good store, nice selection, decent prices, barely useful employees. Throw the inconsistent web presence on top, and you wonder why they don't follow Home Depot's lead and just give up on the 'Pick Up In Store' concept. If you can't get it right, don't do it.
If you must order from Lowes.com for pickup in store, I implore you - bring along the good luck charm of your choosing (rabbit's foot, leprechaun, etc.) before you go."
"I ordered a freezer online. The web said the shipping was free. But when I place the order $50 shipping was added to the cost. I called customer service they were great they fixed the problem . Delivery was on time.
So 5 stars for the fix 2 stars for not testing their web site. "
"I purchased a 118 pcs of Hardi siding from this lowes at 11959 East Kellogg Drive, Wichita, KS. I asked that they hold it until I needed it and I was told that would be fine. I am wating for a inspection of my old LP siding for a Class Aciton law suit. I got a call saying that it has been almost two months and I replied that I could take it but it was scheduled for inspection in a week. They wanted to have it out of the store and I replied that I had to wait for help to pick it up. I was told that they could give me a discount of delivery, I agreed and when the driver delivered it he was nice enough but he wanted to put it in the garage by fork truck. He crushed the guggering on the garage and then he could not get it in so he slid the bunk by putting it on the ground and pushing the fork against the bunk sliding it across the newly stained floor. I called and told the manager that I could fix the floor if they gave me the stain. But the seemless guttering I could do nothing to fix. He never called back and I had to call and get anohter manager, there are more cheifs than indians in these box stores. Finaly a manager came out and took photos. I am fully prepared to go to small calims court and I think I would win hands down. I ask for a gallon of stain and compinsaton for the gutter. We will see if they take care of it. "
"Lowe's has earned my loyalty.
I ordered from the Lowe's website, but it turned out to be a price mistake. This has happened to me a couple other times online at other web stores, and the order has always been canceled. Lowe's, however, honored the mistake. It's a sign of a great company when they put the customer first.
My brother had a similar experience. He bought a ceiling fan from Lowe's, and it died after about 6 months. He went to Lowe's to see if they would be able to repair it, and they told him to just bring it in and swap it for a new one."
"Ordered two return air filter grilles. Ship to store to avoid shipping charges. Good price. Arrived quicker than expected. Easy pickup. Installed without any problems. Thanks!"
"Ordered a Weber Q100 grill on 3/22/10. The order said expected delivery day was 4/5/10 to a Lowe's Warehouse about 20 miles from my house. No contact from Lowe's on 4/5/10, so I wrote an email to Lowe's requesting status info and how I'd be contacted to pick up the grill.
On 4/6/10 at 4:42 PM, Lowe's responded, "Your local Lowe's store will notify you when the product arrives by phone. The estimated arrival date for this order is 4/5/10". Keep in mind the delivery day was the day before, and they can't even contact the local warehouse to confirm the delivery. On 4/6/10, still no phone call from the local Lowe's warehouse, so I called the local warehouse. I was told that the grill was in on 4/5/10.
On 4/8/10, I drove 20 miles to Lowe's warehouse to pick up the grill. After giving the order info to the clerk and waiting for over 15 minutes, I was told that the order did not come in. I told the clerk that I called on 4/6/10 and was told by the store that the order came in on 4/5/10. The clerk had another clerk check again, and they found the grill 15 minutes later (30 minutes wait time). Spoke w/a manager, all he could said was sorry, he'll talk to the clerk in the back. The whole premise of ordering online is to get a phone call and an email to pick up the item with little waiting time. In my case none of this happened. Will not shop from them again."
"I recently looked around to purchase a washer and dryer. I found that most places online would cost about the same after installation and so on, plus you don't get the ability to point fingers if something goes wrong like you do going to a B&M store.
That said, I went with Lowe's for two reasons:
1. Best selection at a store I liked (don't care for the other larger chains), and
2. I got a 10% off coupon from the USPS for moving. Always a plus.
After the 10% off coupon, the prices were about the same, plus I got free installation. The washer and dryer were installed and there was an issue during installation where they cracked the basin that goes under the washer to catch any water and drain it out of the house. I called up and they scheduled a maintenance to replace the basin and install a new one, free of charge. They also said if anything is off, to call up and they'll come out and get it fixed up.
So far, I've been happy with the service. I had to keep on the sales guy about the basin replacement, but even then I only called twice and it was scheduled. Of all the big chains, when it comes to washer+dryer, I'd recommend Lowe's (as well as Bosch)."
"POOR POOR POOR WHATS WORSE THAN POOR doesn't deserve a (0)
We shopped around in the appliance section for quite a bit before we had to actually hunt a salesperson, after doing so we discussed getting a chest style freezer delivered and asked about getting some plywood delivered at the same time. We were informed that this would not be an issue, when the guys delivered the chest freezer they could deliver the wood on the same truck. We just needed to go to lumber and get the number for what we needed.
> So off to lumber we went and after about 30 minutes of wander around we finally sent my son to the cashier to ask for someone to come assist us in lumber to get us the numbers( seemed no one was in the lumber area at all). We then took the numbers back to appliances and placed the order, expecting the next day delivery as advertised. Yet another surprise...sorry we were told, you will have to wait until the day after tomorrow. We smiled said ok made it clear that we could not accept delivery before 2:30 so we could have someone available to assist the delivery person in getting the lumber in the the house.
>
> Delivery day came, at 1:40 we got a call from the delivery driver, he was on his way, we explained that delivery was to be made after 2:30. Deborah had to go to work at 2:00, I am disabled and my son would not be in from school until 2:30.
>
> The driver informed us that his truck stopped at 3: 00 and he was on his way.
> He arrived, he was alone, he got out of his truck unloaded a forklift put the plywood and deep freezer on the forklift and proceeded to unload the wood and freezer into the snow and dog poop in the front yard. He said his job does not deliver indoors. His job is driveway, sidewalk or garage delivery.
>
> It took some convincing but Deborah was able to get him to get the freezer in the house, he did so begrudgingly thumping it up the stairs, setting it in the kitchen floor and leaving without set up to see if it worked.
> We were not only livid but furious. Deborah had to call in late for work, to get the lumber in from the snow, on her own, and once she brought the wood in we found the two sheets warped and the final sheet broken.
>
> We called the store manager BRIAN, who was matter of fact about it, I will talk to him I will get his side of it, we will bring you another piece of plywood, but make sure we have access to get the broken piece..
>
> I just feel this is very poor service...on all points and it seems that someone should be aware of it. I'm not usually in the habit of making complaints quite the opposite I like to commend the better habits. This just could not be over looked.
So redelivery has been set for after 10:00 Saturday... we waited until 4:30 pm all day no phone call, no messages, no delivery of the new piece to replace the broken piece and In the mean time we got to looking at the receipt and realized we had been over charged as well.
So back on the phone with "Brian" who says come on in we will refund you the money and then ring it up at the sale price.
It is now 5:00 we leave to head off to Fairborn to Lowe's where this 12 yr old looking rooster haired boy with the "Oh God just hurry up and get out of her so I can text my bff and gf look" comes up and he is "Brian" We again explain we still have not gotten our delivery, he wants to know if we have a truck... no that is why we asked for delivery, and look dud not not a spelling error I meant dud I am using a cane does it look like I am going to carry plywood?
Well they could still deliver it today, that is funny when they delivered before they said the truck stops at 3:00... do off to the refund part... they go to the register, because now there are two of them... and began to do something it took two of them to do, when suddenly they turned the register screen around and said it will be $169.00....??????????????????? EXCUSE ME NO NO IT WILL BE $17.00 THAT IS WHAT YOU OWE ME!!! Oh we don't do that we sell it to you first at the Sale price and then we refund the money back into your account in 7-10 days.... What? or we can give you a gift card for the $ 17.00 for use in store only. AT THIS POINT I DO NOT WANT TO SHOP IN THIS STORE EVER AGAIN>>> NOW I CAN UNDERSTAND IF IT WERE MY MISTAKE, IF I BOUGHT THE WRONG STUFF AND RETURNED IT, IF I DIDNT LIKE THE COLOR AND RETURNED IT, BUT THIS IS THEIR MISTAKE, THEY WROTE IT UP WRONG, THEY RANG IT UP WRONG, THEY DELIVERED IT WRONG, THEY BROKE PART OF THE ORDER THEY STILL HAVE NOT MADE THAT PART RIGHT AND NOW THEY WANT ME TO BUY IT AGAIN... OR TAKE A GIFT CARD. We took the gift card just to get out of there, we still have the broken wood which they will come for Monday after 2:30( of course they will) and pick up the old wood...that is broken in two directions...
I even contacted the main customer service... their comment was not much different than Brian's... "we will talk to the store manager regarding your concerns" perhaps they should get "BRIAN A COLORING BOOK"
JUST BE FORE WARNED... WHEN DEALING WITH LOWES THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING IN BEAVERCREEK OHIO ANY WAYS, AND IF YOU HAVE TO GET A REFUND EVEN IF IT IS THEIR MISTAKE YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE A GIFT CARD FOR THEIR STORE ONLY...
I PERSONALLY WILL DISUADE ANYONE I KNOW FROM GOING THERE, AND WHEN THE $17.00 IS SPENT I SHALL NOT GO THERE AGAIN EVER..."
"We bought a new clothes dryer at the North Seattle store. On a scale of 1-10, the purchasing experience was a 10. The store personnel were efficient, professional, and polite and were able to give us exactly what we needed. There was a mixup in the delivery - the delivery men came much earlier than planned and we were not at home. Mistakes happen; what is important is how the store reponds to them. When I got home and discovered the error I called the store. Store mgmt did an outstanding job of arranging a later delivery that evening, beyond the standard hours. The delivery team got here sooner than projected and did an excellent and efficient job of installation. Based on this experience I would go back to Lowe's as a preferred business and would wholeheartedly provide a recommendation to others. Great job!"
"THE PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND REALLY STUPID. I HAVE BEEN IN THERE MANY TIMES AND THEY NEVER OFFER HELP AND THEIR INTEREST RATE ON THEIR CARDS IS 22% OR HIGHER. "
"I recently purchased a new washer from a Lowe's here in Smokey Pt., Wa. I can't tell you how nervous I was about spending money at this time. I went for the free year financing. This store was so nice and so helpful in picking out just the right one for me. I have a space issue so lots of measuring had to be done. They pointed out things I had never realized or thought of. One important one is the new washers doors mostly open only one direction. I purchase my washer and had it delivered by Lowes. The men who delivered the washer were friendly and considerate of my home and flooring. Not like other companies I've had come in before to do work. The washer was installed quickly and checked well before they left for no leakage. I truly appreciated Lowe's and their service. The free year financing made it possible for no laundry mats and I appreciated that too!"
"Lowe’s has rude employees and provide poor customer service!
I bought 13 bags of flower bulbs at Lowe’s and the cashier over charged me. When the cashier scanned the flower-bulbs bags, I asked her how much does it cost for that particular bag. She just plainly told me that it is 75% off. She did not want to give me the exact price. That’s alright, but when I got to my car, I recalculated and realized that she over charged me $5.00. As a result, I had to go back to the store and walked to Customer Service to get help. There were two employees at the Customer Service Area when I arrived. One of them was helping the customer and the other one just standing there doing nothing. She totally ignored me. So I stood there and waited. When another customer came behind me, she walked over and helped them. That is odd. Again, I stood there and waited for the associate finished helping the customer who came before me. When it is my turn, I showed her my receipt and started explained to her that the cashier was over charged me. Jessica was the Lowe’s associate whom I talked to immediate cut me off and did not let me finished what I wanted to say. She said that she knows what is going on. Then, she started scanning all the bags (13 bags) which I brought to her. Then, she threw my flower bulbs bag back and forth on the counter – 4 times total and I had 13 bags. Suddenly, the phone rings, so she answered the phone. She talked and laughed on the phone while I was waiting – the phone rings 5 times and she answered it 5 times. On top of that, there was another customer come and he waited behind me. She started helping him. At this time, my boyfriend and I had been waiting for SEVENTEEN MINUTES and still not receive our refund. My boyfriend got really upset, he told her that we were here first and she should help us first instead of answer the phone calls and help others who came after us. He opened a can of worms as soon as he told her that. She had such a bad attitude and argued that it is her job to answer the phones. After that she started slamming the scanner, which she has in her hand, whenever she set it down. I looked around and asked another employee who is the manager of Lowe’s? She looked at me and looked at Jessica then just walked away. The bottom line is we were there first, she should help us. The phone rings, she should answer the phone after she through with us. It is not right to let the customers wait for that long to get their refund. Why we had to wait for TWENTY MINUTES to get $5.00 refund from Lowe’s, and it was Lowe’s fault for did not ring up the correct price to begin with. There are SO MANY EMPLOYEES walking around but NONE of them is helpful. They get pay to stand around talking and laughing? Customer service at Lowe’s is awful. Lowe’s needs to get better customer service training for your employees and don’t forget to teach them some good manner as well. Customer retention and satisfaction bring profits for Lowe’s. However, the customer service that we received today at Lowe’s do not give us as customers a reason to stay.
