MCM Electronics has terrible prices and terrible customer service. I saw a pair of headphones on their site, they said they were 90% off, making the price $9.99, so I ordered them. A few days later, I got a voice mail saying, "We made a mistake, they were actually supposed to be $99.99, so we're not going to send them to you and if you want them you can go order them again for $99.99." I called and talked to a saleswoman, then the customer service manager, both of whom were very rude and did absolutely nothing to try to make up for the inconvenience. No $5 off coupons, nothing. I was passed on to the sales manager, also very rude, and after 30 minutes of phone time I was offered the headphones for $67. I can get them for $57 on other sites, or for $60 at Walmart, only 1 mile away, and MCM is trying to tell me the BEST they can do is $67. Their way of resolving the issue is charging me $10 more than what other stores charge.
They were all very rude, and pretty much said it was a mistake, it's not their fault, they have no responsibility to do anything, and it just sucks for me. I was told by the sales manager that I would receive a call from the president of the company(probably unnecessary, but okay). He never called. So I called back, and for once spoke to a nice lady who said she'd email him to remind him. I still didn't get a call. So I called back a third time and finally got passed through to him. He was no better than the others. He provided terrible customer service, and told me the same thing as everyone else. He was being dishonest by trying to tell me the best they can do is $67, and that that's an "extremely good deal," and he even told me that he'd go out of business if he charged that much for those headphones. I doubt that's in any way true.
So what did they do to try to make up for the inconvenience caused by their mistake? Nothing. All they'll do for me is let me buy the headphones off their site for $67(or I can buy them off BuyDig.com for $57).
I realize mistakes happen, and they meant to list it at $99.99. I realize on their site it says that they're not responsible for errors in pricing. I wasn't asking them to go against company policy. Had someone told me, "I'm sorry, I understand how you feel, and I wish I could still send them to you for $9.99, but it's against our company policy and as much as I would like to, I just can't," I would have accepted that and been completely happy. That would have been 3/5 star customer service. 4/5 would have offered a $5 or $10 off coupon. 5/5 would have sent them to me for the price I ordered them for, and then changed the price so it doesn't happen again. I give MCM Electronics a 1/5 because not only did they not do anything for me (except offer me the headphones for $67, which again, is still higher than most other online stores, so they may as well have not even offered), but they were also very rude about it.
******BOTTOM LINE******
Their prices are extremely high. If you see something you want on their site, go to Google Shopping and search the item you want there. You can sort by total price and find multiple sites offering better deals. The other companies will also most likely provide better customer service.
