"As an "old guy" tech, my electronics path started in the 1960s from such companies as Allied Electronics, having built several Knight Kits (and a couple of Heath kits)! The US Navy put me to work as an Aviation Electronics Technician repairing Communications and Navigational equipment for F4 Phantoms, during Viet Nam. Although I strayed through a couple of other careers, I returned to the Navy as a civilian ET finally retiring after 20 years total service. Wishing to keep my hand in, I am building up my home work bench for SMT repair. I discovered MCM Electronics via the Internet.

Having worked with a variety of equipment, tools and many suppliers over the past 50 years, I am quite pleased with MCM's offerings. My order arrived in a timely manner, complete in every sense. "I ordered discounted Tenma brand temperature measuring equipment from the MCM site, at a very good price. It arrived earlier than promised, and I am very satisfied. "

"My merchandise arrived promptly, but was perhaps inadequately packed. There were 3 boxes, two arrived fine, but the third (a road case to protect my mixer) had 4 rubber feet, and was packed simply in a cardboard box (with a dust-cover bag but nothing to re-enforce the contents). All 4 of the feet ended up poking through the side of the box, and one of them was stressed enough to break up through the bottom of the case and push up inside it. Perhaps it was handled somewhat roughly in shipping, but if it would have been packed properly it would not have been a problem (aside from the 4 holes where the feet poked through the box, it didn't show signs of rough handling). All the pressure was on those feet. If there had simply been a layer of styrofoam under the unit with a hole for each foot it all would have been fine.

I sent an email asking to return the unit for another. They didn't reply to my email, but the shipper apparently put a sticker on my front door to leave the box on the porch for return, so it would seem they took prompt action to notify the shipper to pick the box back up. The sticker was there for about 3 days before I noticed it (I use the garage door most of the time). Had I not noticed it today, I wouldn't have known and the shipper would have come back to a sticker still on my door, nothing to pick up, and the resolution would have been extended. So they seem to have responded expediently, but didn't communicate the resolution with me very well (or at all). And in the mean time, I was feeling concerned about their customer service, which it would seem was effectively quite good, but not communicated to the customer very well.

My assumption is that sooner or later I'll get a replacement case, hopefully in time for the gig I need it for 6 days from now."
