"I wish I read there reviews before ordering from this place. I needed a power supply for my 24" iMac which was listed on the site for $115. I got an email from them saying that Apple marked up the price to $165. I was in a bind so I agreed.
I received the part and it is used! For this price and no mention on the site that the part I will be getting is used. Now if I want to return in I get charged 35% restocking fee.
DO NOT order from this place. This is the first online review I have written. Yeah....it's that bad!"
"Order a super drive for my iMac and it took about a week and half to get it to us but we don't mind except it was the wrong part; we called and they cross ship the correct one to us. Yet we received another incorrect part. We decided just to return everything for full refund and we'll eat the shipping charge. A month later still no refund back to, look at ups tracking info. It shows that it has been delivered. Contact macpalace and they said they'll refund us in the next 48 hours. Two day later I called back to get a credit invoice, they said they don't have one and can't get one out. I’ll just have to check my credit statement. One month later check credit card statement; still no refund. Call macpalace again; they said they'll call me back. Waited and no phone call. We decided to file a complaint with our credit card company to get our money back. NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!!!"
"I've needed a replacement keyboard for my 4 year old MacBook for several months now and did a search. I found the price quote at MacPalace of $143.01 to be reasonable and placed the order via the Internet on October 21, 2012. After hitting the send button I thought better of the purchase and looked at several sites reviewing their services. From what was posted, it looked like I had made one of the worst purchases of my life and I should be put in the corner with a dunce hat for not knowing how bad these guys were...
On October 22, 2012 I received confirmation that the order status had been updated to paid. On October 29 MacPalace sent me an email that the keyboard had been shipped and received a notice from the USPS that they had taken possession of the package. On October 31, 2012 I received the package. The keyboard was properly packaged and was new. It was clean and was identical to the keyboard I needed to replace. I replaced the keyboard and it worked perfectly.
I can't explain why there were so many negative reviews of MacPalace but I do recognize when I received fair treatment...and in this case I did. They did take time to ship my order and that was alright with me. I've taken the dunce cap off and moved away from the corner. I'll do business with MacPalace.com in the future."
"Was completely ripped off. Ordered a nearly $400 part that arrived broken/damaged and only got about $250 back due to a RESTOCKING FEE. Filed complaints with the BBB and also the WA and CA state attorney generals office. They can't do anything for a business to business transaction."
"I ordered a video card on their site and it arrived dirty, grimy, and dusty—clearly pulled out of an old machine. I called them and was told that it was “refurbished”. When I pointed out that: (a) their web site makes no mention of “refurbished” status, and (b) refurbished means at least CLEANED, they had nothing to say in response. After some arguing, I got them to agree to a full refund. I send it back (at my own expense!) and ended up getting only 65% of my refund. I called and was told that there is a “restocking fee”. When I pointed out that I was promised a full refund, they started arguing with me again about what “refurbished” means and saying that their web site never promised a new item! I kept calling back and each time got either an argument or a promise that “Jack the manager” would call me back, which never happened. Needless to say, I disputed the balance of the charge with my credit card company.
Moral of the story: STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!"
"DO NOT ORDER FROM MACPALACE/PCTECHSYSTEMS INC.!
Regarding the bad reviews, i purchased a $50.99 dollar SuperDrive to replace the old one in my Mid 2007 Aluminum iMac 24". They sent the wrong part. We called and were told to send it back. They received the part and claimed it wasn't there's. Then sent an empty envelope claiming the part was returned to us. And it never was. There wasn't any packing slip, wont return emails, and very rude costumer assistance. They make sure there isn't a paper trail. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. "Avoid this Palace!!! They said Apple part was in stock online so when it never arrived I was told it was back ordered. I cancelled the order then got a call back 5 minutes later saying it was here and they would ship 2 day air. They did ship it but even lied about the shipping. Part was shipped ground - 5 days!
Don't trust these guys at all. I took a chance and the other reviews were correct."
"worst place i ever did business with. and have been doing business online for 15 yrs. charged me $200 for a mac video card and sent me a $10 used pc video card no return mailer and no RMA confirmation. Rip offs wasted my time and money!"
"DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. I READ THEIR BAD REVIEWS, BUT DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A TRY . SLOW SHIPPING , THEY WAITED OVER A WEEK BEFORE THEY DECIDED TO SHIP.
PAID $536.74 FOR A MACBOOK PRO LOGIC BOARD . THEY WILL CLAIM THAT ITS NEW BUT SENDS USED BROKEN GARBAGE. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RETURN POSTAGE AND 35% RESTOCKING FEE.
THEY R LIERS AND SCAMMERS ......DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY"
"I was looking for a used Macbook Pro for my son's birthday and after searching on the web and comparing the prices, I found variety of used machines on MacPalace.com. Checked the prices on Amazon and eBay and the price was lower comparing to the specs of the machine I had in mind.
After placing my order, I contacted them to see whether they can expedite my order and not only they expedited my shipping for 6 dollars more to FedEx Second day but they upgraded the memory and the storage size for me at no cost.. With only one simple phone call... Shorter than a hold time for ATT!!
They are on my list for my Christmas shopping for sure. I strongly recommend them."
"This company is fraudulent, dishonest and I recommend that you never purchase anything from them EVER!
I purchased a logic board that tested as non functional and they would not replace it for me. They charged me a 35% restocking fee on a part that did not work and that they would not replace.
Scammers!"
"As stated before, the communication from Mac Palace is lacking and order fulfillment is a tad slow. However, I found that there was SSL security when placing an order in 2010, as compared to the only other review in 2008. The component was less expensive than other Internet sites. It arrived well packaged and I was able to replace the GPU in a 2006 iMac with the supplied component from Mac Palace. I'd definitely use them again and would not hesitate to send someone their direction with the caveat that processing and communication may not be at the top of the list. In all, I had a decent transaction. Not top-notch but not bottom of the barrel either. "
"MacPalace.com had the lowest price on an inverter board for my iMac G4, and they had reasonable shipping costs. Consequently, I placed an order and received the parts the next week.
Their order processing, however, is slow. I placed my order on the weekend, and it didn't ship until Wednesday. The first time I inquired about my order, I was given inaccurate information. The person I spoke with assured me the order was processed and would ship that day, but it didn't ship until two days later. The second time I called was two days later, when it became apparent that the order didn't ship as expected. I spoke to the same person, and he was not very helpful. He just kept repeating the order had shipped the day before without offering to looking into why FedEx didn't have a record of picking up the package.
Poor customer service isn't uncommon unfortunately, and I had, in fact, saved about $60 by buying from MacPalace. So despite receiving my order later than I had originally anticipated, I was pleased. However, a few days later, American Express called me regarding suspicious activity on my account. My account number had been used to place several fraudulent online orders, totalling about $1000. Apparently, someone had obtained my account info as a result of my ordering from MacPalace.
It turns out, the MacPalace.com web site does not use a secure connection during the order-placing process! That borders on negligence as far as I'm concerned. I e-mailed MacPalace.com about what happened, and now, a week later, I have yet to receive an apology or any sort of response. Until they redesign their web site, I suggest everyone avoid ordering from this company."
