"We had an amazing experience with Mac of All Trades. Price and value was excellent. Our family has used Macs exclusively since 1984 when we got our first Mac. But this was our first experience buying through a 3rd party reseller. And we were blown away by the level of quality of both our refurbished MacBook Pro and the customer service. We were seriously blown away when our MacBook Pro came and looked brand new! I can't see us buying another Mac in the future any other way."
"Mac of All Trades is awesome! I'm a web designer/graphic artist that was in need of an upgrade so I went in search of a good company to work with. Mac of All Trades offered competitive pricing in comparison to the competition and stands by their product. My PowerMac G5 was in my hands within a few days and is in mint condition. I highly recommend them to someone looking for a new Mac but unwilling to drop the cash required to get one from the Apple website.
You won't regret ordering with Mac of All Trades! Thanks!"
"The computer was shipped about an hour after I made the on-line order. It shows some wear, but it is clean and came well packaged. I am very satisfied with the service. "
"I sold my iMac G5 and it was truly effortless! Everything was smooth, seamless and I got a really good & fair price! I would recommend Mac Of All Trades for anyone looking to sell OR purchase.....this was a great experience and can't express enough gratitude for this opportunity!"
"It's been a pleasure doing business with Mac of All Trades. Their prices are so reasonable. They delivered my package as promised--3 day UPS--even though it was just a few days before Christmas. And the ibook was well-packed and in great condition.
But it's not Mac of All Trades buying process that impressed me most--it's their superb after-purchase customer service.
I had purchased a one-year warranty from Mac of All Trades when I bought the ibook. Six months later the ibook's keyboard was sticking and I was a little nervous about using the warranty.
For one thing, Mac of All Trades is in Florida and I'm in New York. I imagined the hassle of shipping the ibook, trying to recall if I was supposed to keep original packaging, etc.
But my real anxiety came from having had a horrendous experience recently with a big box electronics retailer. The store sent my warrantied laptop for repair and ended up losing it!! Months later my problem is still unresolved.
Thankfully I had nothing to worry about. Mac of All Trades couldn't have been more courteous or easier to deal with. When I emailed them about the problem, I didn't expect an immediate response--maybe someone would get back to me within the week, I imagined.
The next morning, however, a Mac of All Trades representative called me--a real person, wow!
He explained he would simply send me a new keyboard--installation was easy, he told me--rather than making me send the ibook to him.
A few hours later I received an email confirming Mac of All Trades had sent the keyboard. Two days later the keyboard arrived, it took my 12 year-old son five minutes to install and the ibook works--and continues to work--perfectly.
It's great to be able to trust merchants and doubly valuable with online purchases--especially for expensive and iffy items like used computers.
I look forward to doing business with Mac of All Trades again."
"I sold a used Mac G4. Transaction was smooth , fair and I received the funds 3 days after the merchandise was received by Mac of All Trades. Would recommend to all selling a used Mac."
"I am very Pleased with Mac of all trades.
I ordered a 17 inch Apple studio display and wireless bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
My items arrived on time and they packed it very well with lots of bubble wrap.
The quality of the monitor was unbelievable! I was'nt sure what to expect because it was used, but it was beautiful and in excellent condition. These guys do an excellent job of making sure you get a quality product.
I highly RECOMMEND MAC OF ALL TRADES to anyone looking to purchase refurbished Mac products.
Can't wait to do business with you again!!!!
Thanks Michael!!!
P.S. Good luck Lightning this year. Look forward to a rematch when you guys come to Pittsburgh in Febuary. Go Pens!!!..lol"
"I am very pleased with our purchase. Everything came in as promised and in good condition. The only problem we had was that the mighty mouse wouldn't scroll vertically. That wasn't a problem for us because we were going to use a cordless mouse anyway. I would definitely use Mac of all Trades again and recommend it to others."
"Service was outstanding and very efficient.
Did precisely what promised and in the time promised."
"I decided to trade my 2 year old iMac for an upgrade. After asking several web based resellers for a quote, I found that Mac Of All Trades offered a competitive bid. What blew me away was their statement that a trade in check would be issued within 5 business days. I packed up my Mac and sent it off. I already was placing a reminder my calendar because I was sure that I would have to contact Mac Of All Trades repeatedly. Was I ever wrong! I received my check for the agreed upon amount four days later. With service like that, I will be doing business with Mac Of All Trades many more times. "
"I have been doing business with Mac Of All Trades for almost 10 years. They are the most reliable, trustworthy, expedient bunch I would ever deal with to buy / sell my Macs. Mac Of All Trades is truly a professional outlet for reselling the Macintosh computer - I would never deal with anyone else. They are actually real people you can talk to on the phone - who get business done and make customers happy - whether you're a buyer or a seller. "
"This has always been a great store to order from. If I have a problem they corrected it as quick as possible. UPS and other shippers cause the majority of damage to the machine that I recieve from Macof AllTrades. I have ordered nearly 50 machines and have only had small little problems. Remember you are buying a used computer. Take a little time a maybe invest a bit in some preventive maintance for you new-used machine. Buy a a new HD, invest in a new DVD burner, keyboard & mouse - for a couple of hundred bucks you can have a great machine that would have cost thousands. "
"They took two weeks to send it and it didn't even work when it got here."
"i purchased a g4 powerbook from macofalltrades.com for a price that was $200 cheaper than elsewhere. yep...you guessed it, too good to be true. in the 7 months that i have owned the computer, it has been in working condition for no more than 2 months. here are the fun details:
I ordered the computer 3-day shipping. I received an email back that stated they had discovered the optical drive did not work.
They replaced the optical drive and I received the computer 11 days after I ordered it.
When the computer arrived, the optical drive did not work. I had to bring it to my local Apple Store. They sent the unit out in order to replace the optical drive. That was another 6 days without the computer.
The unit then worked for a period of a month, at which point it slowly started to run buggy. It would take 15 or more minutes to boot up, and once it would boot up, it would run at half speed.
Finally, it just stopped booting up completely. I took it to the Apple Store. They determined that it was a software issue, and instructed me to purchase Disk Warrior ($80). I ran Disk Warrior, and reinstalled my operating system. The computer worked for a week before it would no longer boot up at all. I then completely reformated the drive, and reinstalled the operating system. A week later it would not boot up again.
I took the computer into the Apple Store. They sent it away to have the hard drive replaced. A week later it returned, but now the optical drive did not work. While in the Apple Store, they discovered that the mother board was not working as well. So, they sent it out once again to have the optical drive and the mother board replaced. While they were at it, they also installed a new heat sync and fan.
i sent nearly an exact copy of what i wrote here to the company this was their reply: "This item is out of warranty and ineligible for refund or repair on our end. Sorry."
i am now in the process of filing a complaint with the better business bureau."
"I purchased a used PowerMac G3 computer from this firm. Their prices were reasonable - slightly lower than other used Apple dealers online. A few notes:
- When I phoned I was told that all customer service is done via email and not by phone to save costs. Keep that in mind.
- The machine was poorly packed. It was in a box with a lot of foam peanuts, but it was very lightweight cardboard for its size. They should have used a double-ply cardboard box.
- The machine arrived with a smashed top handle. If you're familiar with the G3 design you'll know that the handles are made of extremely thick plastic. It seems odd that such a heavy piece of plastic could have become broken in two in transit, so I don't know if the machine was sent out with a cracked handle or whether the damage occurred during shipping.
- I requested a replacement handle and they sent me another one (slightly chipped, but it is a used product, after all) immediately via UPS ground, no questions asked. So I can't complain about that. Point in their favour.
- Perhaps my most serious concern is that the unit was taped shut with WARRANTY VOID IF OPENED stickers.
Now, the PowerMac G3 is designed to be opened easily. We're not talking about a sealed unit like an iMac or something - the entire side flips down to reveal the contents. And that's how you add RAM or hard drives or whatever. If you buy from this company, it seems, you have a choice - either use it for 30 days without opening it or open the side and void your warranty. A frustrating choice, and one you should keep in mind if you want to buy anything from them."
