"Great computer for a reasonable price, but the operating system and drivers were not installed. I recently ordered a custom-built gaming PC from MagicMicro for about $1000 based on specs I read about in an article in Forbes magazine. I would figure the components of the build cost about $800 in total if I ordered them from various online vendors, so I figure about $200 of the total price would count for its actual assembly and testing. The computer arrived two weeks after I ordered it, and it runs great now, but one thing the customer should know is that MagicMicro apparently doesn't install the operating system or drivers on their behalf. I had to do that myself.
Perhaps there is some fine print on the website which says this, but I didn't see it. However, installing an operating system is a task well within the reach of anyone, regardless of their computer literacy. There are good videos on Youtube to show you how to do this. It's not a hard task, but it's not a trivial one either. You'll also have to install the drivers for the network adapter, motherboard, and the video card since these are conditioned upon the type of operating system you choose, but all the disks for this support software were included in the package, so I was able to do that no problem. I'd recommend MagicMicro to a friend who wants a good gaming PC for under $1000, but I would add don't bother buying an operating system from them. You should be able to find a cheaper licensed copy from another vendor, and you'll have to install it yourself anyway or pay someone else to do it."
