"My friend and I both ordered the Masters Deluxe kit. It was at his house in three days! Mine took 8 days. I was tracking my package with the tracking# Mariner provided me and watched my kit go North to Newark, NJ and sit for four days before finally heading south to MD. Not Mariner's fault!!! Blame that on USPS all the way. It was even shipped Priority Mail!
In the meantime I used the activation number I received in the confirmation e-mail and went online and completed the Rules of the Road module while I was waiting. Failed 2 of the six quizzes so far but this one module is a 90% pass so it is not easy. The online quiz tells you exactly what rule you need to review when you miss one so the second time around I passed both. I also wrote out my own chart for Part D-Sound and Light Signals while reading the chapters and that helped me retain the info better and I passed that first time. If I had done that with Part C-Lights and Day Shapes, instead of just reading through, I'm sure I would have passed the first time.
I have no doubt that I can pass the Proctored test by following this course thoroughly."

"This is an organized way to get your license. The books and the practice exams are very well coordinated. The videos are well-made, but they don't cover everything so you still have to read the books, and like all video tutorials, you are forced to go at their pace. Maybe the videos would be good for someone with a learning disability, but I ended up not using the videos at all; just read the books and did the practice exams. Even without the videos, though, I think Captain in a Box is well worth the money."
"I was very impressed with the Mariner's Learning System! The course was organized well and the testing was comprehensive and complete. I passed all of the final testing the first time for the 6-Pack Capt. license. I am now studying for the Masters but I am already confident that I will pass this with my foundation of study and practice tests.
