"I was skeptical about this course at first but turned out to be very well put together. Overall I was happy with it and was able to pass the proctored exam fairly easily. I did however, study very hard for it. Don't think that the proctored exam will follow the quiz and online test questions. As much as I studied, there were still some questions that I wasn't familiar with so pay attention and go through everything thoroughly. It's like they say, you need to be comfortable with the course material to be able to pass. I wasn't very happy with the plotting tools they sent with the course or at least the dividers, I had to borrow a better pair as these were useless. The parallel rules were fine I guess but the dividers just didn't work as the tips kept pushing in or tipping out, which changes your measuring value and you have to start over. This was a handy course though, that allows you to prepare for the coast guard approved proctored exam and to prepare at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home. I even used my iPhone here and there to access the study material when away from the computer. "

"You need to memorize words in the books due to the test being very critical. One question and 4 right answers....pick the best one by what the book exactly says.... Test my knowledge not how well I remember wording in a book. "

"It has been easy to follow and do. However the quizzes have some questions more elaborated or information not states during the lesson. One other I noticed that on the video it sometimes gives more information not stated in the book.

"I am scheduled to take my test soon, The course is laid out fine , tons of information to absorb. I finished the entire course and keep going over and over the material and retaking the quizzes and exams and I just am having trouble retaining the information. I have always had trouble taking tests since a kid. I can always do and learn hands on. I guess I will just take a shot and see where I land. All the other stuff I have, like twic and physical and cpr first aid.. Wish me luck cause I am gonna need it "
