"Horrible Experience and still dealing with the worst Customer Service Dept! I purchased what was supposed to be a brand new - in working condition XP4400 generator. After several calls to the Customer Service Dept. who puts you on hold and transfers you to Tech Support who never answers the phone and you need to leave a message only to never get a return phone call. Long story short, I was offered a voltage regulator stabilizer to fix the problem on my own, or return it to them (I have to pay for shipping)so they can repair it and return it back to me. There own Tech Support person told me that the model XP4400 was defective and they would ship us a voltage regulator stabilizer to fix the problem. I am still waiting for the company to resolve this problem to no avail. Now they want us to ship the generator back to them at our cost so they can repair it and return it back to us. They have the worst Customer Service Department! I paid for a brand new generator that works NOT a defective one that needs repairing! "
"ordered a generator have not received one email wioth update I asked for tracking number no respoonse and I have called numerous times for 2 days no answer from any option to buy or customer support "
"I purchased the eco-shredder in June 2011 ($200). I used it for less than 2.5 hours. After the first use the V-Blade broke. I ordered a replacement blade from MaxTool for a cost of $25 plus shipping.
The new blade was installed and within 15 minutes the V-Blade AND the square bolt broke and you cannot buy the square bolt part online (as of this writing).
I contacted MaxTool to have the square bolt replaced under warranty. They refused to honor their own warranty and refused to replace the defective part.
They also told me that if I had any issues with the product that I should take it up with the company who shipped it.
Needless to say I will never purchase a product from them again and will do everything I legally can to make sure no one else does without knowing what they're in for.
Google their name and the word review. Look at their reviews on Amazon, on the BBB website, at Epinions, and other sites online. Do not order from them. You will pay so much more than their so called discounted prices."
"MAXTOOL.....the WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER ORDERED FROM!!!!!!!!!I ordered a 16 hp gas engine from maxtool, the electric start never worked and had to rig it up just so i could shut it off because key start was not functioning! Got engine finally running after no help and dozens of calls to tech and customer service. then ran for a bit and coil blew up now no spark!!!!!!GREATTTTT!!!!!after 3 and half weeks dealing with them and them telling me i was doing something wrong,i finally got a new ignition and coil. One week later reseaved ignition and no coil, called back and maxtool had no recall of the coil!now waiting for 3 hrs to get a call back when i call every hour and am told 10 minutes..sir and the warehouse will be calling....shouldn't take long at all!!!! carlos, rashid, andrew, siaem, these are just a few i can think of off hand that were of no help AT ALL!!!!!!!!"
"I placed an order for a roll of sandpaper on March 3rd, 2011 (Order # 351511). As of Thursday March 10, 2011 I had still not received it. I called customer service for tracking information and was told that the roll of sandpaper was on back order. No-one told me that prior to this time. I needed the sandpaper for a project on March 12th, so couldn’t wait any longer. I was asked if I would like to cancel the order and I said yes. I was told the order was canceled and my credit card was refunded.
Today I received a tracking number for the order. I called and told whoever I had the displeasure of speaking to that the project was long finished and I had already canceled the order, and he told me the cancelation wasn’t in his system. If their employees are unable to enter pertinent information that is not my problem. I was then told I’d have to pay a 15% restocking fee and would only get a store credit.
I CANCELED THE ORDER. Therefore I should not be responsible. The total charge is $25.94. I do not want to order anything else from that company as their customer service tells me I should spend my money elsewhere. I will be doing a chargeback on my credit card.
These people are scammers. They can't take responsibility for their own mistakes.

"I read several terrible reviews re: Maxtool.com but couldn't resist the outrageously low price, not to mention free shipping from California to Pennsylvania, and ordered the drywall hoist for $149. Shortly after placing the order I received an email from Vanessa at customer service alerting me that they were out of the item I ordered but had an identical item (different color) for same money. I accepted the alternative and placed the order. That was on the 11th of Nov. On the 13th I noticed my credit card was charged yet by the 17th I hadn't received any email confirming shipping or tracking info. I emailed Vanessa and asked about this. No sooner than the email was sent I heard a thunk at my doorstep, peeked out the door and there was my drywall hoist just 6 days after placing the order and 4 days after my credit card being charged for the item. I had the hoist assembled in about 10 minutes no problem. It works flawlessly. I'm sure there are better ones out there but at this price who could argue. Harbor Freight sells the exact same one which is on sale now for $269 + $89 to ship. I can't say anything negative about my dealing with this outfit! Kudos!"
"Ordered drywall lift, free shipping (fedex) - charged my account (Visa) was written on website orders given before 1:00 pm would be sent the same day - emailed them the next day - no shipping information, they said Fedex would send me an email with a tracking number, a person called and confirmed the shipping address today - was told the item would be picked up today - no information about the shipping yet - I emailed again, awaiting response - need this item emergently, husband stranded in North Carolina waiting for the tool - wife in Massachusetts - hope this is not a ripoff - anyone have any problems like this before, item cost $149.00, 5.99 for dust masks and total $155.98 - should I call the bank and put a stop payment on my Visa?
Item arrived on 10/06/10 - excellent service and excellent product - Thank you!"
"I purchased a DS7200Q (DuroStar) generator in January 2010. By mid-Feburary I was having to order replacement parts. By April, I found metal and paper in the oil crank case. I took photos of the metal fragments and paper and sent them to MaxTool. They suggested I have the generator evaluated by a diesel repair shop. The repair shop found the connector rod was sheared. Clearly a defective machine, but MaxTool refuses to replace the engine or refund me. All of this happened before the generator even logged 50 hrs. Now I have a $1000 diesel generator that is useless, plus the cost of the "evaluation". They do not have any concern for customer service, nor do they stand behind their products."
