"I agree - the low rating does not reflect the overall quality of service these guys provide, at least in my experience: I have ordered from them probably a half-dozen times before; never had any compliants or problems. And with the prices they charge for cartridges, the quality is quite satisfactory. (Yes, I doubted that very much before I made my first purchase from them, but I thought I'd give them a try, and am a pretty satisfied camper).
Don't know what gives with this rating - there are a few explanations, though - after all, Internet is an open medium; including their competitors :-)"
"Megatoners does ship a bit slow but I've never had a problem with them and have received customer service response before. I've ordered from them 3 times and never had a problem but their low rating does concern me now that I've seen it. Still, would order again next time I needed cheap ink."
"I cant express how disappointed I am with this order. They sent me the wrong order and wanted me to return the items with me paying the sipping fees! Their item description is also misleading.. they would just state "free shipping available" and even give you an invoice for just the items you ordered. To your dismay, they charge your credit card for the shipping without even informing you!! BE WARNED!"
"By far the best experience of purchasing ink cartridges over the internet. Their shipping was very fast and their prices were extraordinarily cheap. I purchased 40 cartridges for my canon printer at about a 90% savings over what I'd pay retail. I had a slight problem with my order (2 cartridges were missing) and it was very promptly rectified. I will DEFINITELY be doing business with them again."
"MEGATONERS = SCAM, SCAM, SCAM !!!
DO NOT BUY from WWW.MEGATONERS.COM. I bought two HP ink cartridges. They sent it the cheapest way possible. When I finally received it and opened the cheap plastic bag, the cartridges had ink leaking all over them. BOTH of them. No foam , no cardboard, just two ink cartridges in a bag full of ink. It looked like some four year old filled the ink cartridges with his bottle and shoved it in his diaper and mailed it to me. I sent them back and asked for a refund. Of course I had to pay the shipping to mail it back. After waiting a week, I e-mailed them and asked where my refund was. They said they only do exchanges. I can't wait to get another "Uni-bomber" exploding ink mail package! "
"STAY AWAY!
Awful ink carts. They sell the worst remanufactured ink carts I have ever brought. Ink is all over the outside of the cart and printouts are really bad. My printer now prints lines of garble text and streaks of color all over the page. I just hope their carts don’t break my printer. Their email support is just as bad as the quality of their carts. They will email you with a set of useless instructions and you will never hear from them again no matter how many times you email them with a problem."
"I would not order from these crooks. If you do not take my advice do not order until you email them your order and get an exact shipping charge. I wish I looked here before I ordered! Read the following for my experience.
I saw in a group where several people were ordering ink cartridges from megatoners.com. On 02/24/04 I went to their web site to make an order. On the ink cartridge page is the only place I saw an exact shipping charge of "4.75 PER ORDER" or "$49.00 AND GET FREE SHIPPING". I select the items I wanted to order (one HP laser cartridge and eight Canon ink cartridges) and filled in my shipping info. Megatoners.com did not add a shipping charge to the order page. I click the submit link thinking I would be taken to the page where shipping charges would show up but I only saw a "Thank You!" page. I just thought I would be charged "4.75 PER ORDER" or megatoners.com would email me. Later in the morning I received an email from megatoners.com stating only "Thanks! Your order will ship soon."
On 02/26/04 I received the laser cartridge but not the ink cartridges. There was an invoice in the box but no prices were included. On 03/08/04 I received the ink cartridges still without an invoice. I checked the VISA account and was shocked to see a shipping charge of $13.82 for a package from New York to Virginia.
I emailed megatoners.com requesting why shipping was so high. I request a refund on some of the shipping charge after I checked the rates on USP.com and found the actual charge was $6.50. I did fully expect to pay shipping but only a fair amount! They sent me an email stating: "the hp cartridge was shipped from the west coast". I have the shipping label from the package with the UPS tracking code and it was sent from New York where they are located. They simply lied! I sent them an email explaining that I had the tracking number and the package was in fact sent from New York and not from the "West Coast" as they claimed. I ask why they did not ship the laser cartridge and the ink cartridges together and they sent me an email stating: "we had the products in two warehouses". They did not dispute the fact they lied. I contacted VISA for a charge-back / dispute. I requested a charge-back of all shipping except "4.75 PER ORDER". These people know what they are doing! That is why they do not include shipping on their order page. They can over charge later and get away with their actions. Below are my order and the remarks from their shipping page. Too bad they do not stand by their own statements, "Do not be fooled by other companies who make up for the price on shipping!"
What I was charged:
Order $44.11
Shipping $13.82
Total $57.93
What I expected:
Order $44.11
Shipping $ 4.75
Total $48.86
From their ink cartridge page:
"SHIPPING IS 4.75 PER ORDER , BUY CANON OR EPSON CARTRIDGES FOR $49.00 AND GET FREE SHIPPING"
From the laser cartridge page:
BUY 3 92298A TONERS AND GET FREE SHIPPING
From their shipping page:
"All Orders are charged for shipping in U.S. funds by destination zip, except when we state free shipping or an exact amount, please note that epson and hp cartridges or canon and hp cartridges in free shipping offers may not be combined . Delivery Schedule We offer same day shipping on stock items if you order before 3:00pm Monday through Friday, We urge you to place your order at least 4-5 days prior to any major holiday. We bill shipping directly from the UPS Shipping table. Do not be fooled by other companies who make up for the price on shipping!"

"I used to love this merchant, granted I never had to deal with their customer service. I followed all their rules and got good service.
This merchant has a strange deal with Yahoo shopping in that the shipping charges, if any, are applied after you create the order. Almost all other Yahoo merchants calculate shipping before you complete the order so you can cancel if you want. I was aware of this twist, so I called the merchant to find out the shipping charges BEFORE I ordered since I was ordering an itme that did not allow for free shipping at all, and I knew this. The agent quoted me $8 for shipping and later the final invoice showed a $13+ charge. I called and was told to email customer service, which I did. The response was friendly and told me to accept the order and an adjustment would be made. I did so. The merchant now will not make the silly $5 adjustment. He claims that the $8 quote was in error. I claim that an employee giving quotes has an obligation to be accurate and his word should be binding. Otherwise how can you get an accurate price?
Why a merchant wants to loose customers after making misrepresentations to them and not trying to mitigate is beyond me. 9 orders in the last two years, all good up until now.
Merchant now claims that this 3lb ground package should have cost $14 shipping. This is outrageous if anyone has a UPS ground table. You can ship a 4 lb package coast to coast(my distance was about half that) without any discounts for about $10, and if you are a merchant with hundreds of parcels weekly, it is less.
Very bad customer service in my opinion. But then I am just one. Use caution."
"Ordered 10 total ink carts on Dec 1st. Received order Dec 4th. excellent speed. got exactly what i ordered and fast. would highly recommend. will definitely shop there again. their prices are extreemly cheap for generic ink carts"
"Seller is not worthy, advertises free shipping, prices the order out without any shipping cost, then charges your credit card with shipping and says "if was all just a misunderstanding". Best to buy elsewhere."
"I ordered 53 cartridges on 9-4-03 and I received them today, 9-11-03 via UPS ground. I am in CA so 5 business days from NY to CA is great. I've ordered 5 or 6 times from Megatoners and I've always been satisfied. The prices are the best!
edit:
I have since changed my mind about this worthless store. They sent me dried up cartridges and since I found out a week later than 30 days, they said that's their warranty. WTF??? Am I supposed to check ALL my carts to see if they have inks. These two were 17.00 apiece and these morons wouldn't refund my money, they refused to answer emails. )Oh, if you call them and have a complaint, they make you email them, even though I had them on the phone), morons. I complained to my CC company and received my money easily. For 34.00, these guys lost my business of around 400 to 500 a year. Take my advice and dump these chumps."
"Excellent service, delivery in 3 days. High quality inks, great print outs."
"It took them 5 weeks to send me my order. That after getting the run around from them on phone conversations and the cold shoulder on email communications. I will never do business with this company again and suggest others to avoid them as well. The details of my ordeals with MegaToners follows.
I ordered 9 ink cartridges from MegaToners' Yahoo site on April 13. The homepage had a notice that their business would be closed the week of Passover, but would continue to take orders. The wording made it seem as if they would process and ship orders made prior to their absence. That wasn't the case. I never received an email confirmation of the order from MegaToners (though maybe Yahoo Stores sent one on their behalf; it was so long ago, afterall.) Even after Passover ended on April 24, no emails and no cartidges. I sent two emails the following week requesting my order status, but never got a reply to either. I then called their 800 number and was told they would ship it UPS "tomorrow". No cartridges ever shipped. I called them again a week later and they claimed to have no record of my order, but would place another order and process it. Still no cartridges. On my last phone call to them I got a hold of "Max". He had my order in the computer and processed it for shipping. May 16, my 9 cartridges finally arrived.
The price of ink cartridges at MegaToners is inexpensive. However, the hassle of getting them makes paying an extra few dollars elsewhere worth it. Their brand of generic cartridges also has a smaller ink well, so I can see why their prices are lower than others that sell better knockoff brands.
Update: They sent me a dupe order. I received a second shipment of my order, which was actaully my initial order that they claimed was never placed. It shipped April 20 and I just got it now. I haven't checked my credit statement, but I'm sure they'll be billing me twice as well. Just avoid this company completely; nothing but headaches."
"I ORDERED INK FROM THIS COMPANY THREE MONTHS AGO AND STILL DON'T HAVE THEM DESPITE HAVING TO PAY AN EXTRA $5 TO HAVE THEM SUPPOSIDLY "RESHIP"! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE EITHER. THEY COULDN'T TELL ME A SHIP DATE, ETC."
"When you check out, they never told you the shipping charge. Don't even think about you will get a free shipping. They will automatically add high shipping charge to your credit card. Be aware of that, if you want to order something from them."
