"Just an update on a purchase thats over a year old - I filed with the BBB and Megatoners ignored them. I asked them to ship back the cartridge that I had already paid for, figuring that something was better than nothing, I recieved nothing. There seems to be a pattern here with them. You buy, it doesnt preform, they make you send it back at your own cost and then keep it and probably resell it to someone else. I cant believe that they are still in business. If you are smart enough to research them before you buy, beware. Your better off going to ebay or any local store... When you factor in the shipping, its about the same... At least at reputable stores you have some recouse and they just cant ignore you. Even ebay will let you place a negative for your lost money if you dont get what you order. Ive never heard of a company that feels its okay to take your money and the tell you to send back the item and then keep it all... Incredible..."

"TERRIBLE. They shipped the order 5 days after I made it, no way to track it, and when it arrived - the ink cartridge was only 5% full and went dry after 10 pages! Their customer service does not respond and I had to purchase another cartridge somewhere else. STAY AWAY from megatoners!"

"I have been ordering from Megatoners.com for a couple of years and never had trouble with them until last year. I normally order a batch of each color so that is what I did this time. When my printer ran out of ink, I put another one in but the printer refused it! I thought it was just a bad one so I tried another but it refused one after the other! I had to go to Target to buy one but I'd rather spend more money for my printer to work. Now I have a whole batch sitting in my closet that I can't use and will now have to trash! I will never purchase from Megatoners again! I got no answer from them either after emailing them twice!"

"Very poor customer service. I recieved 6 inks that were leaking in the package. I called and they told me they only take care of returns via e-mail. So I e-mailed my request for replacements and was told to return them for a refund. First of all I had thrown out the inks since they were no good, second of all why should I pay postage to return them when its their fault. So I emailed back saying I couldnt send them back, to please advise me what to do. Until now, no response. I've been faithfully buying inks from Megatoners for a few years now and I had never had problems with them until now. I even referred a few dozen friends and they buy from them too. So I called Megatoners again, spoke to a receptionist named "Gitzy" and was no help at all, she even told me that I was "making a big deal over some lousy inks". She did not want to give a supervisor or managers name. Very bad attitude and unprofessional customer service. I told her that I will not buy from them again and that I will un-refer my friends to them.
I do not recommend this store due to their unfriendly, unprofessional customer service.

"Horrible. Just horrible. I placed my order on July 12th. The ink arrived on July 28th, a full 16 days later. There was absolutely no way to track your order and they were very unresponsive to my emails. When I ordered, the site clearly showed there was free shipping on the ink I was ordering. I checked my credit card online statment the next day and I was charged an additional $4.75 for shipping. When the package did arrive 16 days later, it was very poorly packaged. When I opened the bag, I found 5 crushed boxes of ink cartridges. The postage on the shipping bag was labeled $1.06. I was secretly charged over 4 times what it actually cost to ship. Adding to the that, the quality of the ink cartidge was subpar. They'll clog your print head. This has been an aweful experience. Keep away from this shady "business.""

"I used to use megatoners all the time (which was about 1-2 years ago). In total, I would say in the past I purchased about 15 separate orders of multiple ink cartridges. I was always pleased. Now, about a year and a half later since my last purchase, I ordered 3 b&w and 3 color cartridges for my epson photo 780. After ordering, I read about how bad megatoners.com has become on Anandtech forums and then checked out the resellerratings.

I considered cancelling my order after reading all the negative of late, but figured it was only $19 so I would chance it.

Well, I recieved the ink cartridges in typical megatoners.com fashion: really quick and expected quality.

I have to say, either I got lucky, or maybe they were just having a bad streak to loose their otherwise good rep. In my book, they haven't even come close to letting me down. Here's hoping they do well for you to.

"Placed three times in the past and did not have major problem. The most recent one had one problem: they overcharged me $342 by mistake but quickly credit back upon my request. Got the order on time and have not try the products yet. I am suprised at so bad reviews by others. Probably I am luck. Will order again in the future."

"This was my 3rd purchase from them, always buying $50 + to get free shipping. I rently put in an inkjet cartridge purchased from them several montha go and found it had no yellow ink. I had purchased 2 cartidges for this printer so I put the other one in and it had no red ink. I propmptly contacted Megatoners and they asked me for an invoice number. I do not keep them so I asked them to look it up. They replied that the warranty is only 30 days and that I was SOL. If you MUST purchase from these poor quality resellers, I recommend strongly that you test the ink carts asap to verify that there is actually ink in them. I lost money because of this company so I will therefore never purchase from them again. I hope that you will not either. Remember... You always get what you pay for. The prices are good but the products are poor and their service is poor. Spend a little more and deal with a reputable company."

"I will never order from this company again and will go out of my way to make sure no one else I know does either. After 10 days with no delivery, I sent 3 emails and made 5 phone calls and all I got was a 2 sentence email reply. All it said was "Thanks for contacting us, there was a computer error in the warehouse, and the order was not shipped, but we will ship it immed. Sorry for the delay"

A week and a half after the email, my print drum showed up and was defective! Since they don't give refunds and I refuse to waste my time with this company in any way again, I'm going to eat the cost of this myself and order from a reputable company.

I just wish I would have went to this website before placing an order with them. Lesson learned.

"Well, in spite of the concerns I've seen lately about Megatoners, I made the mistake of ordering from them again. Supporting 4 Epson printers. This was at least my 3rd order, maybe the 4th.

They didn't include an invoice in the box. I cannot figure out if there is some way to print out any invoice on the internet (it's a "Yahoo" store). Some of the items I received were not the correct items, and I spent an hour or so trying to figure out what is what. Numbers on items don't match numbers I ordered, or quantities, and so on.

Their "customer service" was crappy and virtually useless! Takes a lot of nerve to call it "Customer Service"!.

I will never order from them again. I'll pay more for a place to send me the RIGHT items, or support me with a little CUSTOMER SERVICE, which Megatoner can't do!

"I had a TERRIBLE experience with this merchant! I ordered a new Xerox compatible drum. When I received the drum it had a mark completely around it, which I took to be a scratch. I emailed and suggested that I return the drum for a refund. They responded that the manufacturer sometimes uses an old outside drum shell but that the inside parts of the drum are guaranteed to be all new, and to notify them if I had any print issues.

In response to this reply I installed the drum and rant about 10 copies of a blank page. Each copy had grey lines and smudges across it. I emailed back that the product was unacceptable; they responded that I should return the drum for an exchange. I did so, paying the shipping.

After three weeks I called the company. The clerk said that the drum I returned was empty. When I objected to that analysis, he asked if I had printed labels with the drum. I assured him that I had not. He said he would look further and call back. Having heard nothing, I called again after three days. The clerk said they had sent the drum to the manufacturer and the manufacturer told them that a lable had stuck to the drum, leaving the adhesive. I told the clerk that that had nothing to do with me -- I had NOT printed labels with the drum. The drum was in that shape when I received it.

The clerk told me he would fax me the letter from the manufacturer and send the drum back for me to look at. I told him I could see no value to that, as I had nothing to do with the problems with the drum. They had sent me a defective product. In spite of my protests, the clerk just left it at that. I did not receive the fax or any further communication from the company.

So not only did megatoners send me a defective product and refuse to make good on it, the clerk as much as called me a liar several times. I have NEVER had as bad an experience as this one on the many purchases I have made over the net. I lost over $80 on this transaction. I will never do business with this company again, and I intend to file complaints as many places as I can.

9/9/04 Update to Review: About a week after this review was posted I received an exchange drum from the company. No message was included and no other communication received. Perhaps the drum was sent in response to the posting of my negative review.
