"I purchased a ainol novo 7 from merimobiles on Nov 13. It arrived about 20 days later with free shipping. I was fine with that. The tablet was nice. I updaated the firmware and added a few apps and wrapped it for Christmas. Christmas morning it was great but then a day later the screen went black and gray. I contacted Merimobiles hoping they could fix it or tell me how so that I wouldn't have to ship it back to China. They asked me to reflash the firmware which I tried to do but not really possible when you can't read anything on the screen. So with it still not working the next step was to ship it back. 2 days after 1st contacting them about the problem I was tring to get an address and all the information to send the unit back. 3 weeks later, after multiple emails, and several chat sessions, I still don't have a way to send back my defective item. Two days ago I was told that due to the Chinese new year holiday I had to wait to send it. Then today I was told that their address is changing and that"s why they can't give me the information until Feb 5, 18 days from now. So basically six weeks until I can send back the defective unit. Then we"ll see if I ever get it back."

"EDIT 27/04/2012: As you can see in the below comment Merimobiles took almost 1 year to even reply to my complaint.They even call there customers liars, very customer oriented, right? So again, read my below review (and all the other 1 or 2 star ratings) here and judge for yourself.

This webshop excels in bad customer service, non-organization and scamming behavior.

At 22 May 2011 I ordered a tabled at this webshop, I entered my creditcard data and finished.

One day later I got an email from this shop that the order could not be processed because they could not verify my creditcard. "Please fill out this credit card authorization form and send it back to us and also make a photocopy of your VISA card on both sides" read the e-mail. As I had been scammed before with the same kind of document and creditcard scanning I naturally declined to fill it in.

The next e-mail the supplier wrote back he was asking if they could contact me by phone, I did not need to fill in the form. I again declined and asked to cancel my order. One e-mail later he just said "Its okay, we trust you and will proces your order".

Again I replied that I cancel the order and not wish to receive or proces anything.
The reply to that e-mail was "Okay, thank you." Nothing more.

To my surprise, 3 days later, I got an shipping confirmation mail stating that my package was underway. In utter jaw-dropping surprise I checked my online creditcard data only to find that he already had billed my creditcard, 22 may, before asking all the strange authorization questions. Why all the trouble if he could bill me the first time?

I demanded an explanation for why I was billed and why the order was shipped. He simply answered (in 20-ish e-mails) vaguely stating that it basically was my own problem and that I could refuse the package at the door, he would then refund.

In the meantime I got another e-mail from the suppliers colleague stating I had to pay extra for the shipping. "Please pay another 30 us dollars for long range shipping".
What?? I mailed him back that I would kindly ignore that.

I then contacted DHL, the shipping handler, explained it to them and they returned the package to sender while in transit. A few days later I got another surprising e-mail from the supplier telling me DHL was charging him money for the returning and that it would be fare if we split the cost in half.

Again I contacted DHL to verify and they, in turn, contacted their Hong Kong office (package origen). It was indeed true, the supplier has to pay a fine because he got too many packages in return over a certain amount of time.

I contacted him again and told him I was not responsible for him getting too many packages in return (which also says something about his credibility) and I wish to get my refund in full.

The final mail I got from the supplier telling me that DHL was talking, and I quote, "BS", and that it was my fault, I ordered in the first place, its only fair to split the costs, ...

Long story short, in my years of online (and for that matter also offline) shopping I have never been treated so badly. I even have to pay, I have no goods. Its a real border-line scamming company

People, by all means, please stay away from this webshop. Its bad survice, unfriendly, and in no way customer oriented.
