"Received my N90 Dual core laptop after an initial delay in shipping. As reported by another reviewer the order status only appears to have 2 states, either 'Processing' or 'Shipped'. I emailed the support team after not seeing the status move after a week, took 2 email attempts but finally received a response from Jay apologising for the delay and duly upgraded the delivery to 'Yanwan express' at no extra cost.
I have been using the tablet for a few days now and very impressed with the device.
The RK3066 processor makes the unit very responsive, apps install quickly and everything runs very smoothly. The screen is also excellent with very good viewing angles, clarity and colour reproduction.
Googe play was pre-installed although some apps were either missing or showing as in-compatible. A download of the relevant apk file resolved this minor problem. Ones I had to load this way included
Facebook, Twitter, Tweetdeck & Google Chrome Beta.
I had an issue with the google calendar not syncronising but clearing the data on the calendar storage app fixed this issue. (The calendar kept asking to add a valid account whenever trying to add new appointments)
The bluetooth function is welcome addition and paired simply with the headphones I tried.
The only thing I've yet to work out is whether I need to upgrade the firmware from the site or not but in no rush to do this as the tablet is working without issue, just need to get the spell checker to work!
Some minor points to mention; Flash only appears to work with the Dolphin browser, had no luck with either Opera, the stock browser or Chrome Beta.
I can thoroughly recommend Merimobiles for their customer care and service and have since ordered a ZP100 mobile which I look forward to receiving in the near future.

"I am getting nowhere with Merimolies repair centre. Mobile all of a sudden lost network and was not displaying all the menu. Then afterwards it started jamming and now it does not even switch on. Lenovo Mobile gave problems after a few days. Repairs teeam keep on saying that a firmware update will work however I tried and nothing works. still waiting a reply as I need it a new one or money back."

First let me state that I am in no way associated with Merimobiles nor did I receive anything for writing this review. I live in Washington State USA, just south of Microsoft-land, in a little city with an Indian name – Issaquah.

I am a first-time Chinese tablet purchaser. My biggest fear was my money going off across the Pacific and 1) not being able to contact the merchant with questions or 2) problems with the product and an unresponsive merchant.

I decided to try Merimobiles for two reasons; they have a North American 800 number and they have a good reputation with ResellerRatings.com.

I decided that before I placed an order with Merimobiles that I would place a test call to the ***-***-**** number. I called and got a recording. My mind goes to tales of online merchants that never answer their phone and never return calls. I left a message literally saying I was considering a purchase with Merimobiles and the purpose of my call was to see if they answered the telephone. I left my phone number and said I would test call again in 2 hours. Much to my surprise I received a call back in about ½ hour

I was so pleasantly surprised and satisfied with our telephone chat that it was at this point I started thinking that these folks are being unfairly maligned. I envisioned writing this review to tell of Merimobiles current level of customer service.

Here are the bullet points of my experience (today’s –midyear 2013 – service)
Responsiveness:
• Called 800 #, the call was returned within 30 minutes
• Emailed ****@**** a half-dozen times, each and every email was replied to within the promised 48 hours, usually within 24 hours and sometimes within just a handful of hours
• I used LiveChat three times, I always had to wait a while for my turn but that was always within an hour or so and usually just minutes.
• I also used LiveChat’s Offline leave a message capability once and this was responded to the next morning

Product:
• I ordered one of the latest and greatest dual-core Android tablets that had only been released the month before (Window N90 II) and received exactly what I ordered.
• It came with the latest firmware which was only released but the manufacturer on the day that I ordered the tablet!
• It was double boxed with bubble-wrap between the two boxes to protect the inner box which was the manufacture’s shipping box.
• The entire outside was wrapped with shipping tape to prevent the packaging from coming apart. I had to use shears and a knife to get into it
• The tablet and all the parts arrived undamaged
• So far I really like this tablet (which, but the way, is the one that was recommended on my 800 # call.)
• I have one small issue concerning the Power Adapter-Charger that I have emailed them about (it works fine.)

Shipping:
• I opted to pay more and use DHL. I can’t say enough about DHL. Total time from their pickup in Hong Kong to my front door was 33 hours
• There are couple days that I don’t truly understand from the time it leaves Merimobiles’ facility in Shenzhen China to when DHL logs it onto their system in Hong Kong. Both Merimobiles and DHL are a bit vague on this but just plan on 24 to 48 hours to get across the border into Hong Kong.
• There was the issue of the tablet having been returned to the manufacturer for some software update. This ended up adding insignificantly (1 day) to Merimobiles advertised delivery interval. And I need to note, that as of this writing (a few days after receiving) many online merchants still have the tablet in question as a pre-order. That is, they have yet to start shipping at all.

Overall Experience:
• Excellent!
• Tremendous responsiveness on all three channels of communication that I tried.
• Latest Firmware – only days old
• Exactly as ordered
• Undamaged
• Great little tablet
• They even threw in a carrying sleeve that I hadn’t expected
• Overall shipping time was one day longer that their posted schedule but I had been forewarned of more than one days delay so they exceeded my expectation!
• I will wait the response to my email concerning the Charger (but the nice thing is I am 100% positive they will respond.)

"UPDATE 17/06/2012

I have finally received my order. The Product is very good as I expected. Merimobiles is a reliable merchant. Except the issue with the address and the late reply on my claim, I can recommend Merimobiles and I will use them in the future as well.

I have ordered a Gemei G9 on May 19th and paid $28.05 to have it delivered by courier post.
Today is the 07th of June and I am still waiting for it. The worst thing is that they do not reply to my emails and I am afraid that I lost my money.
My order number is 30830


UPDATE 08/06/2012

I have received an email from Jay yesterday, mentioning that the address needed to be changed. I have changed the address and I am now expecting my order. Once I receive it, I will be updating about it. I am satisfied that they have responded after a delay and I will be happy, when my order arrives.

"I'm on order #4 with Merimobiles. Although not everything has been perfect due to Chinese Import regulations and Customs, they have went out of their way to make sure not only order was handled properly and even followed up after receiving the 1 delayed order (not their fault), asking how I enjoyed the tablet and if anything else could be done. Now most resellers, once you order, you'll never hear from them again... Not so with Merimobiles. Good people to work with and especially Jay has went out of his way to make sure I was happy with order(s).. Will definitely buy again.. one thing, if there was a way to truly find out status of order on the web site, it would do greatly for both peace of mind and not having to bug customer service about order. I'd truly like to know if problems are with customs, or shipping of a new tablet being delayed due to problems, etc instead of status of "processing". thank you."

"I ordered a JXD A16 from merimobile and it came shipped and packed well. It also arrived quickly. The item worked fine the first evening I had it, but after charging overnight the item would no longer turn on correctly. I contacted Merimobile and got a quick reply from Jay stating he felt the item had a software issue and stated he would send me a firmware update with the hope that would solve the problem rather then return the product. I have not had a response to my email for 2 weeks to get the updated firmware, nor have I been sent instructions to return the product.

I will not be purchasing from Merimobile again and definitely do not recommend purchasing from them.

UPDATE May 29th: I checked my email and junkmail folder but only found an automated response on May 22nd saying Merimobiles would get back to me within 48 hours. I did not receive any other emails. Maybe it did not go through for whatever reason.

Thanks for getting back to me today Jay, I will try the firmware and see if the product will now work.

I tried updating firmware and unfortunately the product would not work.

"I got my EGOFLY HawkSpy LT711 in a date earlier than I expected. When I made my order, it was shipped right after a day it was processed. Everything run smooth, I just paid small customs tax as I was living here in the Philippines. "A year ago, I bought a gTablet dock from Merimobiles. They carry many hard to find items. I receive my dock in about two weeks and loved it. I sold my dock to a friend and contacted merimobiles and ordered a new dock for myself. I didn't understand exactly how the USPS tracking language worked but the dock was delivered to the wrong person and it was a month before I went to the Post Office to find out what happened. I contacted Merimobiles and sent a copy of the tracking and they said they would investigate and get back to me. Within a week they contacted me with a new tracking number and a week later I got my new gTablet dock. Along the way Crystal and Oliver were sooooo helpful and responded to my every email. I would do business with this company anytime. They worked hard to make me a satisfied customer."

"I purchased 2 Ainol tablets from Merimobiles (Elf and Aurora). I pre-ordered them and they were shipped to me within a day or two of availability. They arrived in a very timely fashion. The tablets themselves had issues, but this is not the fault of Mermobiles but a (currently well known) problem with Ainol's manufacturing process - dead pixels on screens. I was able to return the Elf without any issues from Merimobiles. There was a bit of a lack of communication notifying me that the tablet was received by Merimobiles. However, they responded promptly when I sent them an email asking if they received it. There was also an issue with the timeliness of my refund. However, when I emailed them re: the refund, Jay at Merimobiles responded back to me indicating that they accidentally applied it to the wrong order number. He quickly remedied the situation and had my refund to me within a week. I had also made some suggestions to them about providing more immediate feedback to customers when tablets are returned and received as well as more information re: the refund process. Jay at Merimobiles was very receptive of the suggestions and I believe they are truly concerned about customer satisfaction and providing quality service. Also, they are allowing me to hold on to my Ainol Aurora until the new dual-core models are released, at which time I can return it for a refund. It is for these reasons that I will continue to do business with them and believe that they are a trustworthy company."
