"I was very impressed with their service. I happen to have an amateur knowledge of Adobe InDesign and I wanted to be able to have the freedom and individuality available with InDesign but I did not have the knowhow, or the available artwork to really make something beautiful. I was SO impressed with this site. The entire experience was very easy. The compiling of the book is laid out in a very intuitive way so it's really easy to put things where you want, re-size, crop, add effects, etc. Overall I was thrilled with the way my book turned out. And an added bonus was the hardcover premium lay flat book has a beautiful satin finish on the outside, which is really classy. The lay flat binding does exactly what it says, so you get twice the space for your photos because there's no crease in the middle. The only thing I wasn't expecting which is not really a downside at all, is that each page in the premium book is hard, like the cover of a book. So the book overall was thicker than I expected. About an inch. That isn't a downside though, the book just looks more substantial. It's probably better so all your photos stay flat. Overall, I would definitely use this again and I was very impressed after having searched many many photo book sites and finding them to be too complicated or slow."

"The book is really nice, but this is the second time out of two books that I experienced problems creating the book. A page accepted a text insert, but after that that feature didn't work on subsequent pages, and then on one of the last pages, it crashed. I went to the site to retrieve my project but I lost the page I was working on. On one of the last pages I kept getting an error message that my photo may not print correctly when I tried to order, but I had several photos on that page, and none with flags. I had no idea which photo was the one you were notifying me about. The resulting book is nice, and getting rave reviews from friends and family.

On the prior book I had not only text problems, but pre-set photo slots were showing up beyond some page borders. I also had pages freeze and fail.

The friend who recommended Mixbook to me has created over 40 books, and she said she also sees these problems from time to time, often when she has spent a long time on the website working on the book."

I bought it as a going away gift and did not receive in time due to this delay, therefore paid that plus expedited delivery (which was on time) and will still have to pay to mail it to the recipient.
