"I purchased something this week with overnight shipping, didn't receive it the next day and will not receive it til next Wednesday considering there is a holiday on Monday. Not quite happy with it, I came back to customer service and chatted online to possible get a refund for paying the $21 for overnight shipping and not receiving it "overnight." Customer service could not do a refund, but only a coupon for free shipping the next time. This did not please me. I will rate the materials that I've purchased once I receive them, but at this moment in time, I'm not happy with them and do not pay for overnighting items, because you will not receive them for 2-3 business days..save the money. "

"I ordered a coat, the money was taken out of my account, yet the translation was declined. Now I have to wait 5 days for my money to be put back into my bank account. Modcloth says the card was declined, but what company takes money out of your account if the card is declined? the website said they had my size in the coat, that is why I ordered it, but when I spoke to customer service they said that the coat is not available anymore (the website still says they have 2left!). It seems like they took my money and cancelled the order when the realized they could not fill it. Now I don't have the money or the coat and have to wait until it, "falls off." whatever that means. worst online buying experience ever!"

"ModCloth customer service is fantastic!
I have ordered quite a bit over the past couple years without any issue. The true test came a few days before Christmas when I realized that one of the items from my order that had been delivered was missing AND it was of course a Christmas gift. I emailed customer service..got a response within 24 hours that was nothing but apologetic and helpful!!!! In fact they overnighted the item so that I would have it to give Christmas day!

"i called regarding receiving a US return shipping label and the woman on the line, christine h. was so incredibly helpful and friendly. it was a pleasure speaking with her. since i live in canada and did not receive the free return label on my online order then she quickly and efficiently emailed me one that i could use since i'm going to the US in a day. that way i can now ship back the dress that didn't fit me right. she was an absolute gem and made it so easy to get what i needed. i'm very impressed.

the only bad thing i have to say... is that i got my items shipped to canada (b/c that's where i live) and i had to pay an extra $19 charge when i picked up my box at the post office. duty or something like that. kinda ridiculous... although i know it's not really modcloth's fault but the border. grrr! annoying!

"Every time I've written to Modcloth with a question or problem, they've been extremely prompt and done everything in their power to help me. Also they accept returns for almost anything, no questions asked, which is a must for online clothing because you can never know for sure how the clothes will look until you try them on.

Recently my Urbanear headphones I bought from them back in May broke, so I wrote to them about getting a new set. They got back to me the next day, and had already arranged to have a new pair sent. The warranty policy on the Urbanears website asks you to return broken items with the original packaging and proof of purchase, but they told me to not to worry about returning the old ones since they can't resell them anyways.

"Two things you must know about me during the holidays.
A. The holiday season. I know its supposed to be cheerful and jolly but it mostly brings out my crazy.
B. I am very busy. Always.

I had received an e-mail in regards to my address being incorrect. I called the phone number provided, while at work, with my phone lines ringing off the hook. I don't think I even bothered to explain to the patient woman at the other end of the phone my situation. (Stephanie Y.) No time for that mess. I simply stated the facts.

I had tried to call FedEx to correct my mistake, they were not available for me to talk to. Stephanie said there may be something she can do. I asked her to e-mail me with her findings. She did. She was very apologetic in the e-mail, which is completely unnecessary--she is, awesome. Also, she has no reason to apologize, because my package was due to arrive on Monday, FedEx told her it was now going to arrive on Tuesday. Well, I'm sorry to say- no one is right in this situation. It arrived today!

I am amazed at the quality of service provided. This is my first time ordering with ModCloth and not my last. What I am most pleased with is the level of customer service. I honestly can't even remember what I said to Stephanie verbatim. All I know is, that with the limited information I gave her, as well as the distraction of my phones ringing and me not being in the most pleasant of moods, Stephanie was a professional who knew how to handle me. And that is not an easy job.

Happy Holidays- Give that girl a raise!

"I received the wrong color of earrings i ordered. No big deal really since the color i did get was adorable. I did write in to customer service just to be like "hey, this happened, no biggie though". They responded with a million apologies and were super nice about the whole thing and did offer some kind of compensation for the mix up. All in all this site is down right fantastic. The clothes, though some are pricey, are all so fun and unique. I will most definitely keep shopping at ModCloth."

"From NZ, I placed my first order with this company after seeing their beautiful clothes on line. My order arrived very quickly, however, there was a mix up and I received the wrong goods. This this is not a complaint. I contacted the ModCloth help desk to ask what to do, and was contacted very promptly by two staff members eager to help. I was advised that a replacement was already on its way and that they would refund my shipping costs. I was also told to keep the incorrect items, which I am certain I will find a good home for.
ModCloth responded to what was clearly a human error professionaly and quickly. Although I have not yet received my replacement items, I have no doubt that they will arrive soon. I would not hesitate to use this company again and will recommend to others.

"Modcloth has beautiful retro vintage inspired looks at very reasonable prices. The average "on a budget girl" like myself can look fashionable and well put together. I ordered a dress and to my dismay, when I look at my receipt after purchase, I noticed that my address was incorrect. So, I live chatted with a customer service rep (Ky S)she was very professional and helpful. she offered to follow up which says to me that she takes my concerns seriously. She did follow up with an email and advised me that she was able to correct my address. Needless to say, I am very happy.

"I love ModCloth! They have such a good selection of dresses and other fun items that I could spend a whole paycheck on the website. The shipping was a little expensive considering I live in Canada, but I received the package in just three days of placing my order! Although I must admit the prices are a little steep, I discover sale dresses all the time that are a great price. Their customer service is excellent as well. When I saw that there was an imperfection on the dress I had ordered they sent a new one, without any cost to me. I am very pleased with my shopping experience with ModCloth!"

"I love Modcloth and I definitely spend way too much money there. They have the biggest and cutest collection of vintage and indie-styled clothing anywhere. Their selection is massive, and chances are whatever you get (as long as you have a good eye for what will look good on your body type without trying it on) will not only be extremely cute, but also be very unique.

I do recommend them, except with the caveat that a lot of their clothes are usually over-priced for what they are. They assign each item their own "cute" style name, so it's really difficult to comparison shop. Fortunately, they have some awesome sales a few times a year (50–75% off sale items!), which is usually when I purchase things.

Like any online clothing store, you're going to have hits and misses due to not being able to try clothes on. I've had way more hits than misses... and with the hits, they have been clothing so cute it should be illegal, that I've never seen anywhere else.

Their shipping kind of sucks, especially if you live out on the west coast. Unlike a lot of online retailers nowadays, you have to pay for shipping, and it's very slow shipping at that—sometimes, it takes up to two weeks. Maybe it's the Fedex in my area, but I've had Modcloth orders that could only be delivered if someone was home, dropped off outside my door, or (like recently... today) delivered to the wrong address. They do have free returns, however, which I'ved used and it does work.

One area where they really shine is customer service. Some of their clothing are not the best quality, especially for full price, but their customer service in addressing these issues is outstanding. They have customer service representatives available on livechat for what seems like all hours of the day, and they are very quick to offer refunds and replacements on defective goods. I've always come away satisfied after contacting them with an issue. One time, they even gave me full credit for a a $60 jacket whose zipper broke after 3 months.

"I love ModCloth! I have been following the site for a long time but finally decided to splurge and buy some dresses on their Cyber Monday sale. I bought enough to get free shipping, which I was happy about, AND I received both of my dresses in 4 days - pretty amazing considering they had a huge sale and I didn't even pay for shipping! I was expecting a little back-up in the shipping, but there was none at all. My dresses were *exactly* what I expected, right color, right size, right fit.

I read all of the reviews and compared the customers' measurements to mine before purchasing. I love that ModCloth recommends you include your measurements and purchased size in your reviews - it really helps new customers to choose the right size the first time. I'm right on the border of small and medium, so for me that is priceless!

I'm not sure what happened to the other reviewer, because ModCloth's stated return policy is that you can always return things or exchange one size for another.

I love to support independent designers and I love ModCloth for opening up a platform for them. I can't wait to buy more!

"The site has amazing clothes, some are quite expensive but you can still find a lot of nice things for lower budgets! There customer service is amazing, everyone is extremely nice and they always do what they can to help you! The customer care live chat allows you to ask your question(s) and get an answer in a matter of minutes! I strongly recommend this site!"

"ModCloth is amazing! I recently made my first purchase, within 24 hours my order had shipped! When I received it, I was surprised and dissapointed to see that both items in the box were not the ones I ordered. In addition, as I shipped internationally to Canada, I had just paid a COD customs charge of 48$, so I was not in the best of moods. I immediately called customer service, expecting to have to fight with them.
Well, their customer service person Kelly, far surpassed my expectations! Within 3 minutes she offered to refund the customs charge, and have the correct dresses pulled from the warehouse and sent to me.
Within 4 hours, the 48$ customs charge refunded, the correct dresses were shipped, and a follow up email was sent to me summarizing the correction of the problem. IN addition to this they offered to pay for any import tax or customs charges for the second shipment!

I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, kindness, and efficiency at correcting the problem. It is inspiring to see such great customer service these days!
I will absolutely be shopping at ModCloth again! This was my first of many future purchases!!!

"Very poor customer service. Stay away from them. I ordered an item $44.99 + $7 shipping. The item arrived, however, I was not pleased at all because the material looks so cheap, I would not even bother to wear it. I asked for a return, they would not allow me, according to them the item I bought clearly stated that it cannot be returned or exchange. It was the first time I heard of such policy. Anywhere I buy whether the item is on sale or not it can always be returned. As the saying goes "Customer is always right".

Anyway, a day day after I requested for refund, I decided to check back on the item at their website and found out it was listed half the price of what I paid for at $19.99. I called them and they issued me a a store credit of $25. They should have agreed to issue store refund of $55.26 instead, since they sold the item to me twice the price. Anyway, realising that it's better to get something back than none at all, I placed 3 items immediately in lieu of the $25 store credit and was expecting a free shipping, since they owe me explanation of why I paid double for the first item and they do not want to issue any refund or return at all. If I have ordered all items at one time (the item I was returning and the 3 items I bought as store credit) I should have only paid 1 time shipping. Nevertheless, again, they don't want to give me free shipping. About 15 minutes after I placed my order, I decided to change 1 item to another item totally the same kind but different design which I added to my wish list, according to them they cannot do it any more. Their customer service representative stated: "Once an item is ordered it cannot be changed any more." Very, very, very poor customer service, 15 minutes after placing order, YOU CAN NEVER CHANGE IT AT ALL!!!! Totally not fair! STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Beware!
