"I decided to purchase a custom state of the art system instead of building it myself, ordering the parts and waiting for them to trickle in. All I wanted to do was to plug in my new pc and 'Go'.
I should have built the system myself. Purchasing from Monarch Computers was the most maddenninly frustrating experience I've had in recent times. Every interaction with a member of their staff left me fuming.
Yes, I'll admit that they have the best prices on the web, but their commitment to customer satisfaction and purchasing experience leaves a lot to be desired.
I've sent repeated emails to staff members that were ignored. I've left messages for mangaers to call me that were ignored. One day I was on hold for cumulatively 2 hours trying to get to speak to someone who could provide details about my upgraded order. Request for an updated invoice were ignored. To top it off, the customer service mangager offered that I was unreasonable and unrealistic. They declined to cancel my order even though it had not been shipped.
Well, I expect a certain level of responsiveness from a vendor with whom I've dropped over $3000.
The icing on the cake is that there was a mistake in the shipped configuration, i.e., I did not get what I ordered (even though I was charged for it). I thought this a valid reason to be refunded my "Hot Rush" fee of $125, since the rushed out an ill-formed system, of course, the customer service manager did not see it my way.
Stay clear of this company. It's obvious that they are understaffed and have don't regard their customers highly."

Well after 5 times calling these guys, I got a guy tell me that it takes 20-30 days to get the charges taken back off my credit card. That sucks. They cahrge you immediately but takes a month to get it back off. Super slow dealing with these guys. "

"I ordered an sd card, but immediately cancelled the order after realizing I bought the wrong item. It showed cancelled on my order status but I was still charged for the item. I emailed them twice and called customer service four times at different times and they did not take any action. Every time I called there was a different excuse and they said they’ll have my money soon, I gave them time to handle what it was there problem was and called again when my money didn’t get credited. It took five weeks until I was fed up with them and called Visa to handle the dispute. I did not like how they handled this situation and will not buy from them again."
"I find Monarch Computer Systems makes false promises, fails to provide timely communications and operates under poor business practices. These assessments are made prior to receiving the ordered computer.
I placed an order for a computer with Monarch Computer Systems June 12, 2006. I was advised that the computer would be built on July 7th. On July 10 I received an email indicating that heavy demand caused them to run several days behind in assembly. I responded with my concerns about their lack of communications and failure to keep the promised "build" date. On July 11 I received a response indicating that a bad power supply damaged the optical drive and "We look for it to ship tomorrow." Standard shipping is 5-7 business days according to their website. The computer would be in transit on the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 17th, with delivery on the 18th, 19th, or 20th on the outside based upon shipping on the 12th. Either my wife or I had to be at the house from the 18th on to sign for the computer based upon the estimate of shipping on the 12th. The computer has not arrived as of July 21. A few minutes after 4 pm today, July 21st I received a shipping status email from FedEx, prompted by a shipping request from Monarch Computers. Today, 9 days after the computer was supposed to ship and 10 days after Monarch Computers last update I find out that the computer wasn't shipped on the 12th, but has just been shipped on the 2oth! Why the 8 day delay in shipping? I didn't receive an email to explain the delay. Timely information would be helpful! They were paid more than a month ago and I don't have the merchandise and now know that it won't arrive until July 26. I filed a complaint against Monarch Computer Systems with the Better Business Bureau based upon false promises, failure to provide timely communications and poor business practices. I finally received the computer on July 25th without any explaination as to the delay. I emailed Monarch yesterday, 7/25 and found out today that the hard drive was bad (7/13) and had to be replaced (7/17).
UPDATE: I have installed the computer and my software and it has worked well with no problems. I just don't appreciate the hassle and lack of communications and professionalism Monarch staff displayed during the build-out and delays. I've also noticed the continual decline in customer satisfaction since I first logged onto this site a month ago.
FINAL UPDATE: Today I received a response from the BBB in Atlanta, GA. Monarch did not respond to their inquiry. This appears to be Monarch's way of dealing with everything but the placing of orders."
"Even though I finally received my order, I have to say that I am completely dissatisfied with the way Monarch does business. They are totally lacking the most important aspect of a client-oriented business: COMMUNICATION.
I sent a short e-mail asking if there is a chance to get an order by a certain date – no reply at all. I also filled-out an online status request form – no reply, phone calls got routed to an answering machine and they never returned a call.
Also, they make it nearly impossible to figure-out the order status or get a feel for a shipping date – my order was sitting in limbo for a couple of days without any status at all, then a status showed-up with some vague verbiage about typical processing time and no firm dates whatsoever.
Their pricewatch.com advertisement states that they ship 97% of orders same day or within a day. The order status finally showed-up online after about day and a half: “Your order has been submitted to the warehouse for processing. Shipping from this point typically(!) takes 2-3 business days.” I had a very simple order – they just need to slap a shipping label on the box, so I really don’t get what kind of orders fall into 97%, if a very simple order takes 2-3 days after another couple of days just to ship.

"After reading Maximum PC I decided to purchase 18 high end PC's for my company from Monarch. I placed my order in January for 18 customized Furia's and finally received the computers in mid february. Considering the shipping time is listed as 10 days, it took over 30 to build and ship my computers. Of the 18 computers, two were damaged in shipping and all had the wrong operating system installed. Monarch's resolution was for me to get a hair dryer and remove the OS stickers from the PC's, mail them back, and receive replacement OS stickers and disks. Do you think I received a credit for this? Nope.
They also were supposed to ship out a free 128MB SD card with reader for each PC ordered. I ordered 18 computers, I should receive 18 SD cards with a reader. I only received 6 with my order. It mights seem minor, but when you have 18 people expecting these for digital photo editing and only get 6, it creates some disappointment.
Bottom line is they need to be proactive in addressing problems that occur, especially on large orders. I'll order from them again, but with a lower expectation of satisfaction. "

"My experience dealing with customer service and tech support at Monarch Computer has been horrible. Each time I call, a new person answers and takes my order number, then puts me on hold for 5-10 minutes, which leads directly to an answering machine. I call back and repeat the process, with no success at all reaching someone who can help me with my tech support issue. I realize most companies put you through the run-around before you get to the right person. Monarch computer is different, they just don't answer the phone. My computer still has 2 years left under warranty and I regret that I will have to jump through these hurdles each time I deal with them."
