"Tried to purchase Supermicro motherboard. Website claims 2-3 days order processing time, which is way too long to begin with, but the motherboard is pretty new and not many places carry it yet and it was offered at a good price. Unfortunately, after 3 business days passed and I got no update at all, I called in and found out the mb won't ship until a further day passes. I cancelled the order. Very courteous and professional phone staff but they need to get their act together in their warehouse."
"After almost a month my order is not yet filled. Responses to email take at least two days and phone calls are answered by voice mail which is full and unable to accept any additional messages. A partial order shipment was made after I threatened to cancel the order with no acknowledgement of the initial complaint. Now I'm waiting of the last 4 pieces which I could have in my home within two days from almost any other retailer. I will not do business with this company again."
"Do NOT buy from this store. All i did was place an order for A motherboard, and CPU combo, no testing, just send it to me. So, i wait, and i wait, and i wait, and now its been a week and I get no confirmation of shipping, and thier site just says its been forwarded to thier warehouse. So, im not the type who complains, so i send them an E-mail asking them what is taking so long, and after a few days, still no reply, so i sent another. The other day, i try to call them, and all i get is "All of our representitives are busy, please leave your name and info and we will get back to you" I go to leave a message, and get a recording telling me thier voice mailbox is full. So i cannot get in contact with them, and from what i hear, it would be useless to cancel the order. I will most certainly never order from them again.
I finnaly got in contact with them, and they said it was out of stock when it was marked in stock, so i had to wait for it to come back in, it came, they tested it, and then they shipped it out. i did not apreciate the fact that they assembled the cpu and motherboard, and shipped it that way considering it could very easily been damaged, but they gave me faster shipping after it took almost 2 weeks to ship, and i finnaly got it. only good thing i can say is when it finnaly did arrive it was in working order. im not sure cheaper prices are worth the hassel of dealing with these guys."
"This is the first time that I've purchased anything from Monarch computer and it looks like it will be the last. The problem started when I was charged for something that I ordered from them,an AMD2 4000x2 processor, even though I knew in advance that they didn't have it in stock (It was advertised that way). It wasn't expected to be in stock for 3 weeks but because of its popularity it was being sold on a first come first serve basis. Little did I know that if for any reason the order was never fulfilled and I was never shipped the part that I ordered, a charge would still be posted to my charge card. To me that's out and out stealing I don't care what their policy is. My ordeal started when I ordered this AMD chip, a BOXED AMD2 4000 processer-with the fan and heatsink, from them on 6/13 and on 6/17 I was informed by them that they couldn't produce that chip in 'Retail' form but only in 'oem' form. I was told that AMD would not be suppling these chips in boxed form. I said that I would check with my customer and see what she wanted to do.
However she didn't want to use oem parts and I couldnt talk her into buying a different model processor either. So the next day I called Monarch Computer and told the person that I talked to that I wanted to cancel the order. I was informed that my charge card had already been billed- it was their policy to charge for items whether they were in stock or not. That's bull'''' and shouldn't be allowed. If they can't ship the merchandise then they shouldn't take your money. Now its 7/3 and I've just checked with Amer.Express again and I still havn't received a credit for the charged amount. That should be illegal. Shop with these people if you must but you have been forwarned.
Update....
It's now 7/23 and I was informed by Monarch that since I elected to dispute this charge between them and Amer.Exp.-which I did due to an Amer.Exp.-rep. advise-that this was no longer an issue between me and Monarch Comp. but rather between Monarch and Amer.Exp. Thats fine however I still have this charge show up on my card and this is bull. If all places on the internet did buisness like Monarch does then I wouldn't shop online at all.
It's now 8/27 and believe it or not American Express still hasn't received a credit from Monarch Computer for the amount that my charge card was billed for, for an AMD2 processor, one of which Monarch Computer didn't even have in stock at the time and wasn't expecting to receive in stock for another 3 weeks after the date I ordered it. At least I'm not being billed for finance charges by Am.Ex. for this charge being on my card while this matter is cleared up. How is this legal? So to put this in perspective since June13,2006 (the date that I placed this order) Monarch Computer has had American Expresses $323.00 sitting in their bank account-collecting interest while this charge still shows up on my account as being an outstanding charge-not yet paid. Money that they, Monarch Computer, received for a product that they didn't even have in stock to sell at the time. As I've stated before,in Monarch Computers defense, I will add that I was told by one of their associates on the phone, during one of my many phone calls to them over this, that it is Monarch's policy to always charge first for items ordered whether they have it in stock or not. Maybe I should have read their policy better before I placed my order as I don't remember seeing that statement on their web site but you can believe that I pay more attention to those kinds of things now before placing an order-anywhere online. As I've stated previously I'll never do any further business with Monarch Computer because of this issue, whether its their policy or not, because it just doesn't seem fair. Even if it is Monarchs policy to handle charges in this way it sure should't take them anywhere near this long to resolve this matter and make it right. I won't say avoid these people, Monarch Computer, because they didn't do anything illegal-yet- but I will say, 'Beware'. It's a shame to because alot of online merchants claim to have 'customer service' but when you actually call them for help you find that the customer service doesn't really exist- or is nearly impossible to get a hold of. But that is not the case with Monarch Computer. Only once, in my many phone calls to them, did I have to wait on hold to be able to talk to an actual person (not a recorded message) and even then the wait was very short."
"Computer supposedly "extensively tested"...NOT. One of the video cards in SLI was not working. Ordered a new one, they charged my cc, I sent back old card but still no refund after +2 weeks. They are very fast to charge your credit card but very slow to credit (see other complaints)"
"I purchased a MSI 7900GTX video card from this company. When I purchased the card there was an option to purchase an extended warranty from Monarch for $50 which I declined. I had no idea that Monarch would refuse to replace a DOA card if I declined the $50 addon warranty. Monarch has refused to replace this DOA card and stated I would have to return the card to the manufacturer.
After contacting the manufacturer I was told by them (MSI) to return the card to the place of purchase if I wanted a NEW card and that they could only provide me with a REFURB. So I payed for a new card from Monarch and will end up with a USED REFURB (even though I have never had use of the NEW card I purchased because it has never worked). If you add the price of the extended warranty to their prices they are MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than other online shops who offer better customer service. BUYER BEWARE!!!!"
"Ordered a power supply on 06/21/06. A week goes by. No shipping notice. Checked the order status on their site (useless). Nothing. Called CSR at 5:50PM. Let the phone ring for ten minutes, no answer. I guess when it's closing time, nobody answers the phone. I call back the next day. Finally, someone answers the phone. Conversation went like this:
Me: What's the status of my order.
CSR: Oh, your item was discontinued. But, we got some more from the manufacturer and that your item will be ship today via two day FedEx with no charge to you.
Me: Why wasn't I informed that the item was discontiued and you didn't have stock?
CSR: They should have notify you.
Me: Who's they.
CSR: The other department.
Two days later and I still don't have the item. No shipping notice either. My credit card was charged the day I ordered the item. My previous purchases from Monarch was OK. But, they will not get any more of my business. "
"On May 4 I placed an order in the amount of $55.10 for a flash drive and a replacement keyboard. At that time I had a store credit with Monarch of $50.14 from a previous transaction and, following their instructions, I sent an e-mail requesting them to apply this credit to the purchase. I received 3 identical e-mails stating that the credit would be applied, but no confirmation of my order. When I had not heard from Monarch about my order by May 12 I sent them an e-mail asking about it. The following day I received an invoice and the package finally arrived on the 16th, 12 days after I placed the order. I checked my credit card statement and found that they had charged my account the full price of $55.10 the same day the order was placed but, as of June 29th, nearly 2 months after placing the order, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY STORE CREDIT REFUND. I will never buy from Monarch again."
"My thoughts about this company have really changed just recently. The staff there does all they can to make the customer happy. That's what this world needs again. Just like the olden days, "the customer is always right."
I had a minor issue with damage to my CPU during shipping and they took care of the problem promptly, and even gave me a free T-shirt for my troubles! What more could you want? Newegg won't even do that for me.
Monarch Computer Systems is a growing company, please keep that in mind. They stride to bring customer satisfaction in every aspect. This is what makes or breaks a company.
Shipping was very fast, keeping me informed on the status of my order to the T. They might not be the cheapest guy in town (usually they are about the same or cheaper!) but you can be sure when you click that Submit button that you will get the most satisfaction possible.
Thanks again Monarch!"
"I ordered on 06/22/06, they charged my credit card at once. But take over 3 days to process my order. I have bad experience with this company before, the credit card credit return takes forever. If you want to have business with this company, be careful."
"I would like to say that all my dealings with Monarch Computers have been very positive. Their web site is easy to navigate, and the product descriptions are accurate. I ordered several different components including a full tower case, and they all arrived the same day and in undamaged condition due to Monarchs' care in packing. I would not hesitate to recommend or use Monarch again. Thank you for a positive experience."
"FYI if you're expecting professional service of expediency from Monarch:
Monarch is currently building my $2500 gaming system. I called for a status update since their web site provided very vague information about my order progress.
I spoke with a Spencer who acted like a massive prick when explaining the following: every time some aspect of your changes, a delay is incurred.
My order has been delayed 5 business days (on-top of their 15 day build time). Apparently, Monarch had to use a different fan than the one I selected and confirm a detail in my billing information."
"Dual Athlon64 X2 w/ 2GB Ram, Raid 1 2x300GB drives, Nvidia 7900 graphics - supposed to be a nice machine...but isn't so far... My experience is documented below:
I ordered on 5/23/06, it shipped 6/22/06 & I received it on 6/26/06. Out of the box the video card was flopping around loose inside of the box with the loose thumb screw from the graphics card and an additional loose screw as well. - Called tech support and he had me reseat the card & download 3dSpec (570+MB) and prime95 to "test" my system. After testing the system with 3dSpec, it continually blue screen crashed. The technician refused to give me any sort of tech support request number or document that I received a machine that was damaged/suspect out of the box - After being put on hold 3 times and being asked 3 times for my order number, I was eventually provided an RMA to send the box back for "repair only" - the purchase terms and conditions prohibit return only. I was told to use the "included" fedex label which wasn't included. They said they would USPS me a new one - Since we regularly ship fedex I asked if he could just provide their fedex # so I could send it back. The wouldn't do that but did call Fedex for a 4 hour block time pickup.
- I have been very disappointed with the service to date as it is even a very difficult task to get ahold of anyone there and it took threats of sending the BBB after them again to even get my machine sent out after multiple promises of when it would ship.
- we'll see if the issues get resolved... Brian in the RMA dept finally seemed a bit helpful calling back several times to get additional information for fedex to pickup the box.
They received my defective unit back on 6/29 and I filled out their online RMA status request form and still havent heard back as of 6/30/06
I Got an e-mail back @ the end of the day 6/30 saying it wasn't received yet but takes 1-2 days to process.
It is now 7/5/06 & I have had to place 4 phone calls to check on my RMA status 3 times I was on hold so long that I was disconnected. On the last try and after a long wait I got Leo who told me that the system still wasn't checked in yet and also got an e-mail from Brian in service to that effect that asked for fedex #'s to prove the tracking which I provided. Leo also added in notes to their system to indicate that when I received the box the video card was flopping around loose. Leo told me that if they find it today best case I'm looking at roughly a week to get it back again.
I'll update again as the saga continues."
"I always look to MonarchComputer.com for my hardware needs. Excellent pricing, items are always safely packed and arrive in perfect working condition. Thanks Monarch!"
"Previous Experience was Excellent. This order was received on time but the motherboard was bad.
RMA was handled promptly and I was totally satisfied with the results, in fact it was far better than I expected. I would give them an A+ rating."
