Returns process very flawed

"I had a great experience with Monsterscooterparts.com at first... they were very helpful... they helped me scramble to get a part overnighted to me... they replaced another part that had a manufacturing issue... that was all GREAT.

But I ordered a scooter seat that turned out not to fit. They were very helpful in figuring out the right one. So far, five stars.

Until I returned the first seat I ordered.

I paid $119 for the seat. I paid almost $90 to ship it back. Monster claimed that it was damaged when they received it. They emailed me to tell me that the return was rejected because of the damage. OK... I got insurance... I'll file a claim.

But... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

Normally, when a shipment is damaged, it stays where it is, you file a claim, and UPS picks it back up and sends it out for inspection. But these bozos decided to put MORE postage on it and SEND IT BACK TO ME.

WHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?????????????????

When it got back to Florida, UPS came and got it. It was never even opened when it got back. UPS said the packaging was inadequate. Claim denied.

Huh. MSP shipped to me... I shipped it back using the same packaging... MSP shipped it back to Florida.

Those bozos never ASKED me what I wanted to do with MY chair. I didn't ask them to send it back. But the return tracking is dated the same day as the email.

These bozos are hiding behind their "policy" that says that 'RMAs returned damaged will be rejected'. OK, I get that part. But what the "policy" doesn't say is "and it will be immediately returned to you so that you don't have an option to file an insurance claim".

A cynical person might think that perhaps it's cheaper for these guys to drop the box off the loading dock, and then spend $25 to ship it back to the customer... After all... $25 is less than $119. But only a cynical person would think that.

Let's assume that it was damaged on my returning it. What they SHOULD HAVE DONE was to contact me and as me what I want them to do with MY seat. Had they bothered to ask, I would have arranged the UPS claim and UPS would have picked it up at their place the very next day. And they would have saved themselves whatever postage they put on the box.

I went back and forth with the rep.... and she never acknowledged that their "policy" is the wrong thing to do for their customer. "The policies are there for a reason" she said.

They are there for YOUR reasons not MINE.

So - I got screwed out of my option to file a claim. When the package arrived back in Florida, UPS said it was poorly packaged. Well... MSP packed it last... so apparently THEY did a crappy job shipping MY seat back to me.

But I get nothing.

I'm out $210.

I waited 2 months for a bike battery

"The customer service was rude and unhelpful. I first contacted them after waiting 4 weeks, and they said it was on backorder and would arrive in another 3 weeks. It arrived 6 weeks later. I think it was $10 cheaper than the competitors, not worth the wait. Don't order from this company."

"I ordered front tires and rims for a Merits Pioneer Scooter from Monster Scooter Parts at the cost of $320. The tires were completely worn out in (3) three weeks. Immediately I contacted Monster and was told that Merits they were the shipper) would not issue a replacement credit, because the tires were over inflated (they were not). Monster refused any credit or replacement. If I would have known Monster was getting the tires from Merits, I would have dealt with Merits directly. Do not use either of these companies. It is unfortunate that any company would intentionally, with full conscience rip off the disabled community. "

"This company intentionally and fraudulently charged my card without my consent and shipped me an item I specifically stated I did not want. They required I pay a restocking fee and for return shipping in order to return the item. This would have cost me more then the purchase. After trying to resolve the issue, I was told that I was a liar. I requested the call records be pulled and was told that even if I was right, they would not help me to resolve this issue. I had to dispute this through my bank to have the charge reversed. I will never do business with these scam artists ever again. Buyer beware!!!

"I ordered 4x tube/tire set from their website. However, the tire is rated at 35psi but the tube can't even hold 20psi. The customer service rep I spoke to said the tube may not be rated for that pressure. I told her, Jennifer, that the website shouldn't sell it as a pair if that is the case and the tube should have a description that it will not hold more than 20psi.

Standard bicycle tires can hold a minimum of 35 psi so these tubes are just junk. There is a reason why the tubes are so cheap. When the scooter tube can't even hold 20psi, it's just plain junk.

"On April 5, 2015 I placed an order with Monster Scooter.com. The part was E41-8545 - Three Magnet Flywheel for the 6.5 HP - Order #668413. When the part arrived although it looked similar the specs were not correct. The thickness of the hub was different. In turn it made the angle of the tapper incorrect therefore not sitting deep enough on the shaft. I called Monster Scooter and a lady answer the phone. When I explained the problem she insisted it was the correct part. When I ask to speak with someone from their tech department she said they had none and referred me to call another company. I called the other company and they said that they would not speak with me and that Monster Scooter is always sending their problems to them. I called Monster Scooter again and the same lady answers the phone. She began speaking Tech terms with me although she previously declined. She also insisted the problem was mine and that I must have measured incorrectly. I tried to explain and she kept speaking over me repeating their return policy no matter what. I regrettably became angry and frustrated because I was certain that the part was not as described and did not fit. In the end they did not pay for the shipping back although this was not my fault.

They are rated "F" with the BBB. I should have checked them out first. Similar proiblems described with the BBB.

I have opened a case # with the BBB.

Their customer service support is amateur to say the least. They surely are not very knowledgeable about trouble shooting a problem in a mobility scooter. They just sell the parts,

I ordered a 24 volt metal silver on board batter charger part # T11-1863 for my old Pride Sundancer mobility scooter to replace the old black charger that came with the scooter and was designed very well and lasted over 15 years, which included a fuse, surge protection, back current protection, etc.

The new charger part # T11-1863 is CRAP, it stopped working 1 minute after I installed it. The electronics and wiring are CHEAP components lacking surge suppression, lacking current backflow, etc. The replacement onboard battery charger stopped working in less than one minute after I installed it, in which all lights turned off and stopped charging. A bad, defective, cheap replacement part. Never get this battery charger pat # , it would not last....as in my case...not even 1 minute.

I called their customer service and got an RMA number to return the cheap defective battery onboard charger part # T11-1863.

This has been an over all bad experience and transaction with Monster Scooter Parts. Lets see how much they credit me for this defective part....

"Bought rear wheels for an electric chair. The wheels were $49.98, with shipping the total was $60.91. The wheels were installed, but in 10 months time have large cracks and look worse than the original wheels when replaced. The original wheels lasted 9 years. The electric chair has been used very little since the wheels were replaced. A call was made to Monster Scooter Parts. All they would do is give me 5% off the cost of new wheels. They are obviously selling parts of a much lower quality than were originally on the chair, or the wheels shipped to me were old. "

"i bought 2 rear wheel assemblies for my Shoprider Flagship mobility scooter i haven't been able to put them on due to the axle hole in the rim is too small i had all model and s/n's for them to get the right wheels i have called many time to Jennifer ext 103 and have not received any responses except a barely able to speak english shoprider employee Jennifer does not return my phone calls i have left her many messages."

"I recently purchased 2 new tires for my scooter. They were delivered as scheduled. After installing one of the new tires split very severly on both sides. I Called Monster Scooter Parts and spoke to Michelle. Per her request I sent photos of the tire. Within 3 hours she cut an order for a replacement tire. I don't think you could ask for better service."

"Order only partially fulfilled after receiving confirmation. I guess the confirmation of sale doesn't mean anything. Got an email saying the other parts were cleared. I thought that meant they weren't going to fulfill order so I requested RMA for other parts. Terrible customer service. When I talked to CSR Christine she wasn't helpful. Wouldn't refund shipping, I have to ship back partial order and btw should pay for tracking, plus 10% restocking fee. At the very least thy should have waived the r/s fee. Manager, Jason, listened to my complaints and said, ok. It was laughable. No customer resolution at all. I guess they don't worry about repeat customers. Should have read other reviews 1st. I will just see if someone else needs these parts. "
