"Selected enclosed trailer to avoid damage in transit and keep the car out of the bad weather since the car was moving from Virginia to Wisconsin. I selected "deliver within 2 weeks" and car was picked up 1 week from the day I made the order and delivered 3 days later. I looked over the car and couldn't find even the slightest issue, even the tiny nick on a wheel that was noted by the shipper when it was picked up. Couldn't be happier."

"During the quote and booking process Montway was always genuinely friendly/helpful which seems exceedingly rare in business as of late. Montway also assured me that despite being a shipping broker they carefully select their transport drivers to contract with and could care for my brand new sports car with the precautions I requested. During the booking I was very clear with Montway that the entire reason for my booking with them was their assurance that the car would be loaded on the top level of an enclosed trailer. Regardless of how un-important this may sound to others, it is highly important to me to minimize how many times the new engine needs to be cold-started and the car moved for other loading/unloading, and to keep it as clean as possible.
Once the process was in the hands of the shipping company that Montway booked (Greenfield Auto Shipping) things immediately went down-hill. I had provided business operating hours for the location storing my car while it awaited pickup which I assumed without further discussion would be understood as the hours that the business could have the car picked up. I have since learned that the driver asked this business which closes at 6pm to accommodate him picking up the vehicle at 11pm, which they very graciously did for him by coming in after hours. To me it seems very inappropriate to accept the transport load knowing the business hours and then ask them to accommodate a later time for the driver's convenience so he would not have to wait until the next morning.
When the driver was nearing the delivery city he called with less than 24hrs notice to tell me that the car would be delivered 3 days ahead of schedule. While this is certainly great news it was very short notice to learn this, and also the driver asked me to be available during the time of 12-2pm for delivery which meant canceling my work commitments on short notice to accommodate. Driver did not want to plan for any later than 2pm because he obviously wanted to drop off and move on to his next stop when convenient for him despite the short notice. By 1:45pm I had still not heard from him and called for an update. About an hour later he finally called to say he did not arrive on schedule and I should actually now plan to receive the car at 8pm. He knew hours before that he would not make our planned time but he simply did not care. 8pm came, 9pm came, and again I called for an update. At last he was ready to set an exact meeting location and time at 11pm. He arrived late to that meeting at 11:25pm but at least he had arrived.
When he opened up the trailer to unload my car I found my car on the lower level. I asked why it had not been loaded on the upper level, driver said that he was instructed to do so on the contract but didn't think it would fit so he just didn't do it and put the car on the lower level. If he could not/would not load it per the contract he should not have accepted the job. Also this enclosed trailer was open at the front, and so combined with my car being loaded incorrectly and the open part it ended up covered in oily road grime and dirt. The driver acknowledged to me that the car had to be moved multiple times for other loading/unloading and that it was even switched between the two trailers at least once. Instead of offering any sort of apology for intentionally ignoring the contract instructions the driver just told me he didn't understand why I was upset and questioned me about why it mattered if it was on the upper or lower level anyway. Amazing that someone can intentionally ignore a clear agreement and then not expect complaints. Despite my opinion that this driver should not be paid at all I paid the balance to ensure that my car was released to me and not put at more risk.
I contacted Montway and they appropriately escalated the situation to supervisors. However when I finally received a call back from management they generously refund $75 for my vehicle being intentionally mis-handled on the entire transport. I called back to express my opinion that this was not an acceptable resolution and this is where things really got great. The person I spoke with was confused at first and thought I was the transport driver calling in about the issue (nothing against this happening - just momentary confusion) but the information that was revealed during this communication mishap really gave me insight into how little Montway cares about this issue and taking care of me as a customer. The representative thinking I was the transport driver said that the company needed to refund Montway $176 to resolve the problem. Instead of advocating for me and pressuring the transport company to refund most or all of the cost for INTENTIONALLY doing it wrong Montway is just coming up with some random amount that they want back. Also Montway is actually intending to profit $101 from giving me an insulting refund. They are asking the transport company for $176 and offering me $75."
