"Not so smooth transaction on the website. Ordered with a giftcard and paid with Paypal. Told by the website my giftcard contributed to the total. However, I later got charged full amount via Paypal. Had to email Moosejaw to clarify my issue. Eventually, everything was squared away and received time.

Wish their checkout/transaction process was more transparent and accurate. Probably will never shop from them due to this issue since it was a headache.

"Great prices and good service. Humorous website and catalog that makes it more fun to shop.

I recently purchased a sleeping pad that was on sale for a great price. I used Fed-Ex two day shipping as I needed it quickly. It shipped the next day, which is reasonable (I was hoping it would ship the same day given my shipping choice, but no big deal). The package arrived with the product described. I will certainly shop at Moosejaw again.

"AWFUL customer service. I got an error message for seemingly no reason when trying to place an order. I tried a different payment method and got a different error message. Then I contacted them and they took over an hour to tell me they had no idea why I was getting errors and to contact my bank! I know that I have sufficient funds and that account is working fine... so they obviously have issues.

Also, their cutesiness is gratingly obnoxious.

"I order a pair of Vibrams and was really excited for them to show up. I ordered the wrong size and they said they would exchange them for free. I waited and waited for the shoes to show up because typically it takes me 3-5 days to get something that I have ordered online but it took them 11 days!!!! To my surprise when I got the shoes they were the wrong pair!! They were size 44 men's camo style! When I called them to inform them of the mistake the boy who answered the phone thought it was hilarious for me to receive the wrong pair of shoes! I don't think it is funny at all! I ordered a product and I expect to get it! The only thing was is he was helpful enough to change the size to a 38 instead of a 39. Although this happened on 12/10/11 and I am still waiting for the shoes and it is 12/20/11!! According to the Fedex website my shoes have been in Denver for the past 3 days... I am really disappointed with this company and will never order from them again."

"Moosejaw has gained a good amount of fans with its quirky copy all over the site. And I suppose for most customers who never have to deal with customer service, there's probably nothing to complain about. I can vouch that their customer service ethics don't nearly match up with their cutesy marketing fluff.

Unlike another shopper who supposedly received his or her free-shipped product in 3 days, mine in fact arrived 17 days after ordering. I opened the bag and was immediately heart-broken when the jacket I'd waited 2-1/2 weeks for was different than the one shown. Although it was in fact "black" as the description noted, it did not have the colored accents of this year's model--it was not the jacket that was clearly depicted in the product page image.

I was bummed that they showed a misleading picture, but I didn't want to make a big stink and ask for the correct jacket. I simply wanted to return it at no cost to me (why should I have to pay for their mistake), so I kindly asked if they'd cover the $8 shipping. They said "no." They explained that it said in the product description that it was last years model. That's all fine and dandy, but the image clearly showed a different jacket, and zero info in the product description could've led me to believe otherwise. When I very civilly voiced my displeasure, they abruptly shut down the chat.

I am downright amazed that these people who pride themselves on appearing fun and friendly wouldn't refund a measly $8 for a most basic mistake for which they were responsible. I am a laid-back person, but I strongly hope Karma comes back to get them for their blatant "we're not gonna do you the slightest service because we can get away with it" attitude. Anyone can right annoying junk email to send to their followers; apparently not everyone can adhere to common courtesy.

REVISION (From 1 star to 4): The next day another customer rep contacted me, apologized for the mistreatment, refunded the shipping, and was very kind. My theory now is that a single, flunkie customer-service rep with whom I initially talked just single-handedly mishandled the situation. I now like Moosejaw.

"What a great company!!! I ordered a North Face fleece from Moosejaw.com, used their standard free shipping, and it was in my mailbox 3 days later! Furthermore, theirs was the lowest price on Google shopping. They even included a sample of Tom's natural toothpaste! Communication was excellent, and witty and humorous to boot. This is a company that takes pride in what they do; delivering the best products at excellent prices with amazing service. I will definitely be ordering from Moosejaw again in the future!!"

"Moosejaw is awesome! Great sense of humor which you'll learn spending 10 min on their site. Great pricing, frequent free shipping deals. Also google coupon codes for another 10-15% off and it's hard to not do business with them. The selection of gear is vast and items come in perfect condition. ANother bonus is the Moosejaw Rewards. With every purchase you earn points. I was able to snag a ENO singlenest hammock this way! I'll do fitting & gear checks at my local outfitters but I always order from Moosejaw for the exact size or color I want. One of my favorite e tailers after amazon."

"Ordered a Nemo Losi 3P tent on Tuesday for $80 less than most other places. Literally, the lowest price I could find on the net. Got my tracking number the same day and it was delivered the following Monday morning. Everything was as advertised and the tent is wonderful. Good price, Good Delivery and Free Shipping. "Moosejaw has a great selection and pretty darn competitive pricing. I bought my backpack and other goodies there because they had the best price on that, but I also picked up some other items. I will definitely utilize them again for any outdoor goods. I really like the site layout and their points system. It's a good way to encourage repeat buyers. They have good humor in their advertising too, which I enjoy. They provided a nice catalog with their shipment."

"These people are horrible!! Tease you with low prices, that they do not have inventory for.

I ordered two items. 3 days after hearing nothing I called them. Customer service says it is shipping my purchases and package is on the way. Next day I get email saying that the one item is not in inventory, they offer me 15% off a full retail item.

I wait 11 days, calling every other day to see when the other item will ship. Keep getting told by customer service it will be "any day". Finally after day 11, I get a email saying it was shipped. Now get this...I paid for and requested shipping USPS. They ship it Fed EX "smart post" which Fed Ex ships part way, then gives it to the USPS to deliver-and it ONLY TAKES 8 MORE DAYS FROM MICHIGAN TO IOWA!! It must be like pony express or something. Huge screw ups, NO Inventory, used pony express for delivery...DO NOT BUY FROM MOOSEJAW
