"WHat a joke! This "company" is run by like 3 people, 2 of whom don't speak english as well as they should. I mailed in an order via priority mail ($$$$) on Tuesday...the following Tuesday, I called asking why I didn't get a tracking number yet..."O well so and so was on vacation last week so we couldn't process your order..." one guy running the joint eh? Well i call back on Wednesday demanding that my order be shipped by the end of the day. "We haven't received your order yet..." bull...i got a tracking number on my order, and it was delivered...after being put on hold, he said that because I used a money order "the order has to be passed from one guy to another guy to another guy"....ok...makes no sense whatsoever...then I asked him if my order will be mailed tomorrow morning..."yes yes (in a thick accent)..." i'd bet that it won't be shipped out tomorrow and it won't be by the end of the week. i'll be calling the post office and a local TV station to get on the backs of these idiots...and don't rely on their tech support...i was on hold for over an hour, and then their line disconnected me...then i called again, and 45 min later hung up to go to lunch...i had been calling them all morning w/o success....finally i call them 30 mn before they close and i get in touch w/ a human...god don't order from these people. there are other companys with prices just as good...don't make the same mistake I did and all these other people did!
-Update...HA! I got my money back! All I did was file a complaint with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center at http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/. This is run by the FBI and the National White Collar Crime people. After I did that, I called up the company the next day. (This by the way is three months since I first asked for my money back) I told them what I did, and when I called back the next day to see if they had done anything about it, they said the check was in the mail! I was skeptical, because they had told me this about 15 times along the 3-month interval, but three days later, I received the money back! Try it!"
"Do not purchase from this seller. Maybe if your transaction is error free, you might get your item. However, I had a problem with my order and they DO NOT answer email and if you get through on the phone (don't get a busy signal). You can expect an endless delay on hold. I had to drop off after 45 minutes."
"Product was never shipped to my home and over one month later I still havent received a credit to my charge card."
"Oh boy. How I wish I'd read these reviews BEFORE I ordered from these jokers. I've experienced some bad customer service in my time but this place definately has to rank WAY at the top of the pile. Any and ALL email inquires are summarily ignored and any attempt to call is met with either infinate hold times or sheer staff incompetence. Late last week, I placed (2) orders (Jul 17 and 18). Initially I ordered a NexII player because of the price and paid directly with my CC. After reading some positive reviews on the NexIIe player, the next day I ordered one but this time I paid with PayPal to get the 'free' DHL shipping option. Well, turns out that allegedly my first order was 'accidentially' shipped to the wrong address and then returned to them. Evidentially someone there believed that although I had been charged for it I really didn't want it and nobody bothered to resend it. I've, of course, been offered a 'full and total refund to my card' (but the jokes on them, because I've already notified Visa of their activity). As for the second PayPal order, no one there seems able to find an order number for it and they don't appear too concerned about looking into it. However, once again the jokes on them because PayPal was also paid with a different CC and they too have been notified of this merchant. My best advise is to AVOID like the plague. However if you have ordered and paid with a CC in the past 30 days, my advise is to contact your CC issuer and file a dispute over the charge ASAP. Otherwise, you have little legal recourse short of small claims action."
"I have been getting no response for the last few weeks after I returned a few items for a refund.
First I should mention that I had many difficulties getting just getting my order in, because customer service insisted that I fax a copy of my credit card. Photocopying your credit card then faxing the twice processed image did not result in anything legible the first time I tried. I had to start a whole new order with a credit card with a better background/contrast. I have never heard of any online seller requiring an image of the credit card. For security, most sites just request those little numbers on the back of the card.
Anyway, I returned 3 compact flash cards which were not compatible with the Nex II player. I am awaiting a $100 refund, and although I complied with all of the return procedures, they will not answer my emails. The lack of attention is more frustrating than anything. I too, like a few other posters, will soon be resorting to litigation if a refund isn't forthcoming. I am getting mad enough that I'm not going to be satisfied with a mere refund."
"I was going to post my annoyance with their custom support regarding phone backs, but after reading all of these post I think I'm one of the few lucky ones. I ordered a NEXIIe MP3 player because of the CF card support and great price. I received a conformation and then a tracking number the next day… so far so good. I track the unit as it comes from Quebec and then arrives in Calgary 3 days later and gets delivered. Well, delivered it never was. I contacted the company via e-mail first asking what might have happened, no response so I called them and talked to someone there. I was told the Shipping Manager was not there and would call me back the next day. I was happy enough, no long hold time, quick answers. Three days later I still haven't received a phone call. Lucky for them, the box just showed up with our normal morning mail. I don't believe the package being MIA is their fault but I am unhappy with the lack of response from this company. If they called me when they said they would and responded to my e-mail I would have been a very satisfied customer, right now I doubt I would buy from them again based on my experience compounded with all these negative comments. "
"Update 6-26-03. Finally, after threats to sue and call in the FBI, they shipped my order (without responding to any of my emails). I am gratified to learn that they are just unresonponsive, not frauds.
This store sucks. I ordered from them and they charged by card but they wont give me a tracking number, respond to my emails, or otherwise verify the thing is going to ship. It was supposed to ship, according to their website "the next day." When I finally got through to someone they fed me lines of BS about my order shipping "tomorrow" but it never happens. I have repeatedly demanded that they cancel my order but have not recieved any info back. I am sooo close to reporting them to the local police and my cc. If anyone here has successfully sued these people and collected a judgment, let me know. I am an attorney and would love to take a shot at them under the local consumer fraud statute (on my behalf, not yours, sorry guys). Email me at ****@****"
"I ordered from them before checking here, mainly because they had the NEX IIe at a great price. I was a little worried when I got an email saying that the package deal was backordered, and would be available "soon"
It turns out that they were having problems with the flash card supply, so they substituted a different brand (Toshiba) which was ok by me. Overall, it took less than two weeks, which isn't great, but not terrible either.
Research the products elsewhere though, because it looks like they do sell a lot of cheap crap."
"I was ordering two mp3 players online. Found one i liked for a good price at this store. I just ordered two days ago. I really wish i hadn't now. In fact, since i found these reviews, i've been trying to call them to cancel the order. - Alas - nobody will answer the phone - sometimes it's busy, but otherwise, a machine answers and you stay on hold. - I was on hold for 2 hours - just waiting to see if anyone would pick up. i did this two days in a row. I really hope My product ships! - i could be out more than $300.00! Dont buy from these people!!"
"I purchased a 5.6" TFT LCD display for a mobile PC. After telling me that for my purpose, I didn't want the 7.6" display I should buy the 5.6" TFT LCD, I purchased the 5.6". The quality of the display was bad, very bad. It was too poor to use for anything other than from a VCR, and even that was pushing it. I wanted to return it due to it not being what was advertised. After e-mailing their company six times, I finally got a response. They impose a 15% restocking fee and I was told I need to return to their Canadian presence so I need to pay all the customs in addition to the shipping. I purchased this for $130 total, and by the time it gets returned it will have cost me $175 for all the fees, and shipping. I will just sell the unit on e-bay."
"Plain and simple.....I'm taking this company to court for all the reasons that everyone else has mentioned here. I was ripped off just like the others but I didn't see these comments till it was too late. Now they have my money and claim ignorance.... They make it look like they are working out of Vermont, but they work out of Canada and ship via International carriers. They wanted duty from me to receive my package and it took over a month for me to resolve, then the unit didn't work right out of the box! Trying to return it was a joke also. It's now May and I still haven't received my money back..... see you in USA court Mr. Benoit.
P.S. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!
INTERNET FRAUDS!!!!!!!!"
"I bought online 2 items from that company: a DVD player and a LCD monitor (TV). The DVD player was defective. When I called them, they first accused me of having dropped the item, which is ludicrous. They were rude. They finally (after 3 days) sent me a RMA, and I returned the defective item to them (worth $179), throught the US postal service. This cost me an additional $21.15. They now say that they will send a replacement item when they get the defective player back. Unfortunately, it has been 10 working days since the shipment (4/21/03), and the company remains silent.
I believe that I am victim of a deceptive and unfair commercial practice. "
"I purchased an VCD player from this store located in Montreal.
Well what can I say... POS.
1 Skips like there is no tomorrow , so forget about portability.
2 Scratches the disk is shaken.
3 VCD playback defaults to PAL. Manual doesn't say a word about how to switch to NTSC altough the player is sold here in Canada.
4 Customer support is inexistent. I tryed to contact them several times but their phone is busy at 2 AM in the night....
To wrap it up, don't throw your money on the junk they sell at huge prices.
If you never heard about a brand nor you can get any info from www.google.com for get about it as is 99% some junk wraped in shiny packs.
"
"I purchased a Mp3 player from these guys because they advertised a great price and they were a Canadian company.
When I first ordered it, they sent an e-mail saying they didn't actually have any in stock...but they were getting some "soon". Selling me something they didn't have is ridiculous and I should have cancelled my order on the spot. But I let them delay and delay for several weeks until I finally got my product.
I got charged more than was advertised as well.
Then when I found out the remote was defective I gave them a call and after several weeks of unreplied e-mails, etc. I was able to get an exchange.
The second remote they sent me didn't work either.
I assumed it was the unit, and by that time they stopped selling that product, so I struck a deal with them getting a FULL REFUND. I sent the unit back to them and didn't hear word back from them. When I got my credit card statement back a month later, they had NOT refunded my money as promised. I called them back angrily and a very rude operater by the name of Corey told me that whatever deal I struck up was invalid and was quote-unquote "ridiculous".
Now, they are willing to send me a "new unit" but I have to pay another 40 bucks. So, either I pay these scammers MORE money or I get stuck with nothing at all.
To be perfectly honest, to save me the frustration, I think I'm just going to call them and tell them off.
I've spent 50 bucks on postage, innumerable time on the phone and for what? I have an empty box filled with styrofoam and that's it.
Avoid these guys!
I'm out over $300!"
"I ordered a portable DVD player/ROM and a 5.7" TFT screen. It took a month to get to me via their "overnight shipping."
After the items arrived, I saw that they were not even close to what was advertised. The ROM drive was not USB 2.0 and the screen was not S-Video comatable. It took me 12 emails and 3 hour-long phone calls to get an RMA and they were going to charge me a 15% restocking fee to boot!
Avoid this merchant!!!!!!"
