"NTB MADISON ALABAMA
I wish I could say that this place for the most part is a decent auto shop to get tire replacement or any sort of customer satisfaction at, but it would be an understatement.
I got a full tire change on my car with no problems other than them being extremely slow and having very poor manners towards their customers. A little more than a month after that I got a flat tire... no big deal. I was just going to change that tire to my spare and take it back to the shop and have them fix it. The problem was that my lug was completely rounded off. I called ntb to see if I could get help. Once I told the guy my situation he quickly fired off that it was my fault. That I had done it when I was trying to get the tire off. I would take responsibility for this IF I could even get the tool on the lug long enough to get a grip. So I asked the guy if there was any way he could help me out by getting me a truck or something to assist me. He then said that he was the only one behind the counter and he had other things to do so no.
Being an employee for many customer service based jobs I have been taught to give my 100% for the customer and help them out to the full extent.
After having this issue with awful customer service and with them not taking responsibility for their actions I WILL NOT be any kind of customer for this place again."
"Stay away because the manger Brandon Diviak scammed me out of $500.00 with false repairs after servicing I mean sabotaging my car. I came in with a perfectly fine running car and left out with a knocking wheel and a few days later no oil. The staff is unethical and will do anything to make a 33% commission, even if it means sabotaging your car and lying about repairs. NTB 2430 Sycamore Road DeKalb, IL 60115"
"Went to National Tire & Battery on 132nd and Cicero in Crestwood, Illinois for new tires on 10/23/12. Next day discovered my radar detector and change from my car was stolen. Between the time my car was pulled in from the parking lot and driven back to the parking space after the tire replacements the theft occurred.
Reported it to Manager Assistant Moe Murrar who advised that Manager was on vacation and would call me upon his return on.
I will be filling out a police report on this theft, reporting it to the Corporate Office and placing my review on any website I can find to let people know how dishonest and untrustworthy their employees are."
"PUBLIC NOTICE:
NTB'S 3 year alignment that they boast is transferable is only transferable ONCE. They neglected to mention this every time I purchased a 3 year alignment for my family's cars.
I purchased the 3 year alignment knowing I was going to sell my car later that week, I did transfer the alignment and they did honor it. But a year later, when I sold that car, I assumed I still had 2 years left on the alignment. NTB refused to honor the remaining 2 years of the alignment. They have since lost my business."
"I called and made an appointment on a Thursday with NTB in Allen to look at my RV tires for warranty reasons. Since my appointment was late in the day, I assumed (correctly) that they would not be able to get hold of Michelin. Therefore, I would have to bring my RV back to get the tires replaced, but at least they got the information they needed to contact Michelin. The manager, Brad, was supposed to call me back Friday. Since he hadn t called, I called back on Saturday and spoke with him. He had not contacted Michelin yet. He called me back later. We set up an appointment for the following Wednesday. I asked him to check stock. He didn t have enough in stock, but said he would have some by my appointment. I called back on Tuesday to verify that he had the tires. Brad said that he would check and call me back. He didn t. I called Wednesday before taking my RV to NTB (takes about $20 in gas for a round trip to the storage place, NTB and back home). Brad doesn t work on Wednesday. The manager on duty, Chris, had no record of any appointment. He also didn t have enough tires. The best he could do was to get some tires in by Friday. Since the work had to be done between 9am and 4:30pm during the week (only time that Michelin could authorize the work), I had taken the day off of work to do this. Needless to say, I was furious. I called Discount Tire in Mckinney, and spoke with Barry, the manager. I explained what had happened and he jumped into high gear. They didn t have enough tires in stock, so he got my information and said he would call me back as soon as he could find some. Thirty minutes later, he had found some and was having them shipped to his store ASAP. By the time I got there forty minutes later, the tires were there and they were ready for me. Discount Tire, specifically Barry, went above and beyond what anyone could expect. I have three cars plus and RV and all of them will be using Discount Tire in McKinney (the Eldorado location) for their next set of tires."
"Worst place ever! I went to get an oil change... I was told it would only be a few minute and they would have it in. Over an hour later my vehicle hadnt been moved. I went to the counter to ask why it wasnt done when they had told me only a few minutes. So they rushed out and got it, drove it inside and put it up on the rack (which I could see through the shop windows) then they never touched it. It sat on the rack for over an hour. I observed the workers walking around, talking, one gentleman took over 20 minutes to take one tire off of a vehicle and balance it. Just one tire, not all four. I also saw one gentleman walk around for over 30 mins never touching a vehicle, then go outside the garage and talk on his cell phone for about 15 mins, then come in and tell the guy at the desk he was going to go ahead and go to lunch early... ????? Seriously? He had already done NOTHING for 45 mins that I saw... Then i went back to the desk... Explained it had been over 2 hrs and I was told it would be done in a matter of a few mins. They were supposed to change the oil, check all tires, rotate my tires, top off fluids and a few other things as well. After my 3rd trip to the desk they finally sent a guy out to do my vehicle. He hurriedly changed the oil, never did anything else on the list he was supposed to do. Left oily grease marks all over my vehicle that is less than 6 months old and always well kept, used my spoiler to put his knees on to hold himself up as he leaned on the front of my vehicle while pouring the oil, put two more greasy handprints on the hood when he slammed it down, a series of greasy handprints on my steering wheel from where he backed it out, and then doored the car next to mine when he brought it around and parked it for me to "pick up" and just walked away like it was nothing. I complained to the manager and was spoken to rudely and told that if i could get better service elsewhere thats what I should do from now on. During the 2 1/2 hrs I was there they never finished any other vehicle they had there except mine and only because I complained after 2 hrs when I was told "a few minutes" !!! I will never return to an NTB again and never ever tell anyone one single good thing about them! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Consider yourself warned"
"All potential future customers ....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! AVOID NTB Talleyville AT ALL COSTS. ... THEY WILL LOOT YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY... I have been to NTB to check breaks of my Accord. A free break check coupon was available at NTB website. They quickly checked the break and said I need new front break pads (my rotors were perfect). They gave me an estimate for $285.93. $140 for front break pad (Part) and rest for the labor to install it including a 12% shop fee. I did not have any clue how much would be teh cost for a break pad or the labor associated with this job, I asked for a discount and they offered a $40 for the service if I do it today. I trusted the sales person and with out thinking twice, I decided to go ahead with the break pad installation(Stupidest descision I ever made). I came back home, looked prices for the part (NAPA break pad exact same model, part no) they put in on my car, it was only $60 and price was confirmed with local Claymont NAPA store. Essentially, NTB charged me 230% more for the part. I called the Union Park Honda dealer to find out how much they charge for new front break pads + installation, Can you believe it is only $109.99 at the dealer, this include new front break pads and labor. Bottom line, NTB Talleyville RIPPED ME OFF for both part price as well as labor charges. I was charged $245.93 after discount for a job that could have been done at teh genuine Honda dealer for $109.99, or may be even cheaper at another local mechanic. I can't believe this type of dishonest people cheat you on your ignorance and continue do business in America. I went back to the NTB store and enquired why I was charged 230% for the part and almost double for the labor, the manager Bernard Flowers was not available, The assistant manager Craig was rude and said, that is what we charge for this service and he can't do anything. I told him that I won't do any future buiness with this store, his answer was I don't care. The worst customer experience I ever had. Can you imagine a business like this cheating customers? It is nothing but day light Robbery at NTB. Do not belive in their free checkups and coupon. It is a strategy to bring in potentail prays like me and they charge 230% more and offer 15% discount. My simple message, if you happen to read this review, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST ..Don’t throw your hard earned money to this SCAM ARTISTS."
"SCAM ARTISTS! Bel Air, MD location
I went to purchase new tires - which I know i needed. The cost was in line. The labor was a little high, but I needed it done.
They then worked up a whole laundry list of work that needed to be done. I explained I just needed tires and my mechanic would do the rest. He just did not have my tires in stock.
The manager tried to tell me I needed new brakes - conveniently enough, he just quoted me on CERAMIC brakes and did not offer the regular brakes until I mentioned it. I also stated that my brakes were fine, and when they need to be changed my mechanic can do it for half the price.
They tried to sell me on a bulb change for $2.99 for the bulb and $80.00 for labor - ARE YOU KIDDING ME????
Belts were also deemed necessary - I asked my mechanic, and he is able to replace them for far less than NTB was quoting.
They are also very SLOW. For my tires, it took 4 hours. Yes, you read that correctly. I think they should have reduced the labor fee and credited me for time spent while their mechanics goofed around and did not look at my car for the first hour it was on the lift."
"DEPTFORD, NJ I placed an order for four new tires and was given a total price including all services and taxes of $853. When I returned for installation, I was told I needed an alignment for $80 plus tax. I reluctantly agreed. After they took my old tires off the rims, I was then told I needed three new tire pressure monitors at a cost of $65 each and that they would not mount the new tires without the new monitors. My original quoted price now jumped from $853 to well over $1100. I told them to put my car back together with the old parts. I'll buy my tires elsewhere. I may have to pay these additional charges, but at least I'll know about them in advance. I will not patronize an establishment that low balls it customers and then bumps the cost at least thirty percent."
"I received terrible service when I took my Audi A3 to the Bloomingdale, IL NTB location on 10/6/11 to replace a tire. After the work was finished, I noticed that the left rear rim, and bolt covers had been damaged. I notified the store manager, Victor Rodriguez, and he agreed that the damage had been done during the tire replacement. At that time he agreed to fix the rim, replace the bolt covers, and pay for the costs of a rental car. On 10/12/11 I dropped of my car at NTB, and Victor had Enterprise pick me up. At Enterprise I was required to give them my credit card information to cover incidentals, and for insurance purposes. The following day I picked up my car, and dropped of the rental. It was at that time that I noticed that the bolt covers had not been replaced. Victor told me that he was unable to get them in time, and would notify me as soon as they came in. I never received a follow up from Victor despite numerous attempts on my behalf to contact him. On 1/23/12 I noticed an unapproved charge on my credit card for the Enterprise car rental. After 90 days without NTB paying their bill, I was charged $65.32. I have continued my attempts to contact NTB (via email, Facebook, phone), and have yet to receive redress for the aforementioned issues. Today, 1/24/12 they began deleting my posts on their Facebook wall, despite a reply that they would have someone on their "consumer relations" team contact me. If you would like more information, and a current update on this matter (NTB complaint #4944260) please email me at ****@****, or contact the store manager Victor Rodriguez at: ***-***-**** .

"NTB has extremely poor customer service, inadeqquate mechanics and unprofessional location mangers at store 810...
WE visited NTB to have our oil changed on 07/27/2011, and in the process they broek the starter. We went spoke with the manager, he would not accept responsibility but agreed to pay for all service , we just had to pay for he starter - with no other options, we did and ammediatly contact the customer service/complaint department...we finally got into contact with the new manager at this location (becuase the manager on duty when this happened was no longer at this location) and filed a customer claim/refund form and waited our 6-8 weeks for the refund. We never received anything, nor did we ever hear anything back from NTB. We have bee in regular contact with the store manager (another new guy, since this position has turned over again) and service manager and are getting the run around. For over three months now, we have been told that they couldn't find it, it wasn't approved by the right people, it awaiting approval, they contacted the guy tht needs to approve it, they are just waiting to hear back from him, its still awaiting approval from the middle guy, etc.. We are constantly calling, we have provided additional copies of the claim and still to this day, 01/12/2012, are still getting the run around. It seems as if they are attempting to drag this out as long as possible in hopes that we will just drop it or forget eventually. "
"i went to the shop for an oil change. the advisor told me that i need also transmission fluid change, power steering service, and other more recommendations in which i did not take in this visit. i took the transmission fluid change because the advisor told me that this is an urgent matter because it shows in the car's maintenance record that it was not done ever. he told me that the other maintenance services can be done later. engine oil and transmission fluid change services was done to the car. i was driving home from NTB shop when i noticed that everytime i come into a full stop at traffic lights my car has an unusual thing going on: when you start moving the car jerks and suddenly speed faster or do gear change. the car is assigned to my daughter in going to school so i advised her to monitor the problem i noticed and if get worse she has to bring it home before it breaks down in the road. although, i assured her that there must not be a problem because the car was just done a maintenance service. but the problem never went away anymore so i called NTB about it and they advised me to bring back the car to them to check what is wrong.
they sent me to two transmission shops to find out what went wrong, but, both shops admits that they can not exactly tell the transmission problem and determine what caused it unless they will open then evaluate the system.
i asked NTB shop if i can leave the vehicle with them so they can do anything they need to do, to find out the problem they did. i am disgusted of the maneuvering of all their supervisors and the manager to evade the responsibility. they do not admit any mistake they created and they play dirty tactics of making you go back and forth to them without making any action.
i went to shops including the honda dealership where i bought the car and there i found out that the factor of incorrect fluid changing must be the biggest possibility that destroyed the transmission.
i told them again that i can leave the car to them because at this time after a month of agony i already did purchase a new car for my daughter to use for i do not want to continue using this defective car. and, you will not believe this, they insist they did not do anything wrong. the big question, the same question from the start...who did this damage? isn't it, there is only one possible answer...of course, the one who did it. and who did it? NTB service mechanics or can we say mechanics or what other else you can appropriately call them....car destroyer who will not admit mistake. the irony of this all, to cover up this mistake they doctored the milage record of the car to show that the car already run more than three thousand miles before i called the complain. good thing i have kept the service record (NTB shop record of 10-21-11) from last year showing this mileage discrepancies. the manager wanted to further cover up things telling me it was only a topographic mistake. but, how it was a typing mistake if the both the milages showing of service dates: 7-24-11 and 7-29-11 are both three thousand miles under. this NTB shop of 7909 lemont road, downers grove, il. 60516 are cheaters. do not patronize them. they do not attend to you when they do mistake. they will not answer their mistake. they will evade at all cost to not pay their mistake...this is my very bad experience with this people.

"On 3/9/11 I purchased two new tires from the NTB at 4901 Eldorado
Parkway in McKinney for $169.91.
On 3/25/11 I purchased two more new tires to complete my set from the
NTB at 7237 S Custer Road in McKinney for $160.79.
On 7/8/11 I purchased an oil change from the NTB on 7237 S Custer in McKinney.
Today I was forced to purchase a new tire from the NTB at 4901
Eldorado Parkway in McKinney for $74.
I had a nail in my driver's rear side tire and took my car to the
closest NTB- on Eldorado, and was told I would need to buy a new tire
because the puncture was in the sidewall of the tire and not
repairable. I inquired about warranties on the tire or road side
hazard, and was told I declined this coverage when I purchased the
tires and so now I am forced to buy a new tire.
Both times I visited NTB in March to buy my tires I am told I declined
the road side hazard insurance. This is a flat out lie. My receipts
show "DECLINED ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY" yet I have no idea what this
coverage is or how much it costs or any details about it. I had no
idea that it was an extra item and that it was not included with the
initial purchase price of the tire. The sales person insists that he
covered the coverage with me in detail, which is also a lie because
when I asked him how much the road side hazard would cost for my tires
he told me about $11 to cover them 100% for a year, which is a quite
reasonable price that I would have gladly paid if I only knew the road
side hazard was a separate item to be purchased individually.
How do I know the employees at NTB are lying about explaining the road
side hazard coverage to me? Because they have done it before. Looked
right into my face and said flat out lies. For example, when I got my
oil changed in July at the NTB on Custer I was told that the oil
change comes with a tire pressure check, rotation (which I was told I
didn't need at the time), and fluid top offs. I sat at the window and
watched the technician change the oil in my car without once touching
the tires to check the pressure. And when I paid at the register I
asked specifically if the oil change included windshield washing fluid
top-off because my car was completely out, to which the man at the
register said "of course we always check the fluids and refill when
needed". When I got into my car I tried to clean the windshield and
nothing came out. So I backed my car up to the NTB garage where
another technician noticed me and offered help. He opened the hood and
said my windshield washing fluid was completely empty and refilled it
in the parking lot. Since my tires were only 3 months old at the time
I decided not to make an issue of the technician not checking the
pressure like he was supposed to.
Also, on the receipts from March it says "CUSTOMER DECLINED A FREE
CHECK AND ADVISE ALIGNMENT". Now, perhaps when buying two new tires
the technicians decide to skip mentioning this little bit, since I had
to read over my receipts to learn that I declined a free alignment
check in the first place, but when I received my oil change I know for
a fact that the man at the register never offered me a free alignment
check. Nor today, when I left the NTB on Eldorado, did the man at the
register offer me a free alignment check. He asked me if I needed
anything else, and listed off oil change, tire rotation, and alignment
check, but he never told me that the alignment check would be free.
So I am convinced that either through laziness or incompetence, the
associates at NTB neglect essential duties in order to rush the
customer out of the store. When getting my new tires, the associate
neglected to inform me properly of the road side hazard and how the
warranty is a separate item that would need to be purchased separately
from the tire. And now I must pay for a new tire only 5 months after
buying 4 new tires. The associates leave out the "free" in "alignment
check" to avoid doing extra work, and the associates leave out basic
maintenance checks such as tire pressure and topping off fluids during
oil changes.
Why do they do this?
Are they lazy? Or do they just not care about providing a quality
service to their customers? Or are they taking advantage of a woman
who doesn't know much about car maintenance and so probably won't
realize when associates are ignoring their essential duties, or when
they are trying to avoid explaining important aspects of the sale?
Whatever the reason, their attitudes are unacceptable and the fact
that I am now forced to pay $74 for a new tire due to their negligence
is completely unacceptable and infuriating. How can NTB expect to
retain customers if their associates are treating the customers so
poorly?
I for one will no longer be a customer of NTB unless this issue is
resolved to my satisfaction. If this issue does not get resolved then
I will know for a fact that NTB offers deceptive customer service and
poor quality car care."
"I was lured into your store (which I had already vowed to never do again) by a coupon for oil change, filter, brake inspection, 20 point overall inspection and tire rotation. The tires were NOT rotated, and since the tires were not rotated, I know that the brakes were not inspected. I was told that the store was short-handed on staff, which seems to make sense that no-one would want to work for this company. I do not feel that I was treated fair, and I vow to not only never use any of your companies again, but to also tell everyone I know to stay away from you. I do not feel that I should be short-changed because you can't keep adequate staff. Perhaps there is something to be said about your company, when, in these economic hard times, you can't seem to keep employees on staff. The 1 person who was at the store was friendly and helpful, however I DID NOT receive what I was promised and what I expected. Again, I promise to never set foot into any of your stores again, as I would only be putting an added burden on an otherwise friendly employee. I will NEVER burden your companies again with having to service my vehicles, and I am sorry that I was just another customer, getting in the way of your company. It is truly a shame that you run a so-called business this way, but I promise to never bother you with my consumer needs again."
"We normally take tires that need a patch to a “mom & pop” tire store, but I came home from work around 6 PM with a flat tire and they had just closed. Needed the car the next day (and didn’t want to drive on the “rubber band” spare), so decided to take the tire to a fairly new NTB in the area (Raymore, MO). The nail was right in the middle of the tread – easy place to fix. Their fee was over double what the “mom & pop” store charges, but considering the late hour, went along with it. WRONG!!!
About two weeks later, the tire is losing air. Assuming it’s probably something else (and knowing NTB doesn’t guarantee their tire repair, anyway), took it to the “mom & pop” place. Come to find out, NTB RUINED a $280+ Goodyear tire that still had 10,000 miles left in the tread life because they don’t know how to put on a patch. When a tire is prepped for a patch (normally), they “rough-up” the area where the patch will be placed so it will stick good. NTB roughed it up until they ground down into the CORE of the tire! The “mom & pop” place tried to put on two patches, but there was too much core gone in that area, and neither patch would hold air. They said the tire is “done.” (They didn’t even charge for their efforts!)
Don’t go to NTB. All they have working there is a bunch of kids that don’t know anything (or care) and managers that don’t know anything and don’t care!!! (If you’re from the Raymore-Belton area, the “mom & pop” place is Harmon Tire in Raymore – good people!!!)"
