Disregard for customer retention and poor processes

"On Friday I called NM to make sure that if I ordered a gift on Friday I would get it by Tuesday 2/13. They assured me it would so we ordered it FedEx next day. Today is Tuesday and no package. After a couple hours on the phone, they said they put the order on hold (to protect me from fraud, surely it's more to protect them because my credit card company protects me) and I will get it some time this week. Basically it was sorry but your out of luck. It's common sense that if I order something FedEx next day, I need it quickly and if you're deciding to put an order on hold, a company like NM would at least contact me and let me know that they are not shipping it. They also should have informed me of this possibility when I called on Friday prior to placing the order. Instead, what they find acceptable to rectify their screw up is to say, sorry, it's a shame that you have no gift to give today and will walk in empty handed. I specifically asked to speak to a manager, not a supervisor and after waiting on hold, I get a supervisor (exactly what I said not to do). I was and still am shocked at how poorly they handle their errors. Again, their error because nobody told me this was possible when I called to confirm that getting next day air would get it in time for the party and they said yes as well as nobody contacting me to say the order would be delayed when it was obvious that I needed it right away. At the end, the supervisor said he would credit me $100.00. Well, that will buy me a headband at NM but not make much of a dent for having to buy a 2nd gift last minute so I'm not empty handed since NM can't seem to handle a simple expedited order. Fool me once is all they will get from me and I will shop at Saks or Nordstroms instead. They haven't let me down Nd always quickly offer to make up for their very few errors generously."

Cancels orders with no notification, lies to you instead of explaining why

"Had two orders cancelled by Neiman Marcus, both times with no notification.
They would only change the order status to Cancelled, but you have to log into your account to see this.

Both times, tried chatting with a customer service agent and got the same response.
My order was cancelled because they could not verify my credit card.

First order, they never charged my credit card and blamed my bank.
Second order, my card was charged and then reversed two days later.
Bank confirmed they did not refuse the charge and that it was Neiman Marcus that reversed the charge.

The chat agents admitted both times their system is unable to narrow down what specifically they could not verify.
They also admit their system is unable to notify customers when there are issues with orders.

Tried email support, and Neiman Marcus says to order again and lied again about my bank refusing the charge.
Two failed orders, no idea why and Neiman Marcus consistently lying about it.
Offered no other option except try again, which is crazy considering they will not tell me what the issue is.

I have not seen this sort of online incompetence since the early days of online shopping.
It's a little sad to find out that Walmart has a more robust online shopping system and better customer support than a supposedly high end retailer.

Went to a physical store to see if they had my item in stock.
They did not, and their salesperson tried extremely hard to convince me to order online.
I just laughed and declined.
Will not attempt a third order and likely never shop at Neiman Marcus ever again.

Cancel orders with notification and lie

"Neiman Marcus cancelled my orders twice at different time. Their first reaction is always "Oh it is bank security concern, you should check with your bank. We can only see your credit card was denied by bank." I didn't check with bank at the first time and went Macy's for the product. But I check with bank this time. Customer service from Chase bank said the transection was made on 11/23 but Neiman Marcus reversed it on 11/27 (that is yesterday).
Of course I contacted Neiman Marcus again, they now admitted maybe there are some problem of their system. They said they will start investigate and give me a reason why they canceled my order without notification and lied it is bank's issue in 24 hours. Wait and see!!!!!!

Amazing Product

"I will admit, at first I was very worried about purchasing from Neiman Marcus due to the high volume of complaints. I was skeptical about the product I ordered hoping it was the right item, right price & in original condition, as I have read negative results of the above criteria. To my most pleasant surprise, I had great customer service, the product I ordered was in pristine condition and the item came in a timely manner. I will also note that the price was fantastic, as Neiman Marcus offers a coupon for first time buyers - I was also worried that I wouldn't qualify for the discount code because I live in Canada, but I loved and appreciated that Neiman Marcus had no restrictions on that. Extremely impressed with this experience!"

Neiman Marcus "Last Call" customer service is terrible!!

"I just spent 45 minutes on an online customer service chat with Neiman Marcus "Last Call." The complexity was such that it should have only been a couple of minutes, and they never did resolve my problem. I finally just disconnected. Will probably cancel my Neiman's credit card based on that experience. They took about 5 minutes to respond to every reply I made. Obviously they are handling 4 or 5 calls at a time, because they weren't replies that should have taken that long. (For instance, replying "thank you" to my answer confirming my street address took 5 minutes, and then another 2 or 3 to ask the next question.) They sent a package that was lost, and apparently they really don't care. The first customer service rep disconnected without resolving the inquiry, then I had to go through the whole schpiel once again with the next one. She, too, took several minutes to reply to every one of my responses. I get the feeling that they really don't care that much about their customers. She never came back and answered my questions to fix the nondelivery problem. This is not Nordstrom where they take care of their customers. They also take forever to ship. Again, this will probably be my last order from them. "

Guerlain Mascara

"Ordered this expensive ($32.00) mascara which I had used before and liked. Received mascara that was either outdated or opened and half dried out. It is terrible, seems like it is almost empty, didn't see anything wrong with the packaging but while it used to last 3 months, this stuff needs to be replaced right from the beginning. Threw everything away as I didn't expect to have to return it so I'm stuck with it and will replace it today, however, beware when buying their cosmetics, I think they just hold them til they can sell them."

Horrible customer service/ cancelled an order i placed a month and a half after it eas ordered

"Basically I placed an order on July 26th 2016 for flats, every time I emailed I would get the SAME EXACT automated response, I contacted Neiman Marcus and spoke to a representative who transferred me over to a supervisor, the supervisor promised to give me a call with updates a week and a half later and no call back. I called again and was promised a call with updates once again, no response after that. On SEPTEMBER 16 I get an email stating that my order was cancelled. I called neiman marcus customer service and spoke to a manager whose name was Belinda her extension number is 3229, she PROMISED ME that she will give me a call back on Tuesday September 20th- still no call back and it is now September 26. I NEVER in my life seen such awful customer service. "

BEWARE of their DELIVERY DATES online

"On 3/1/16 I ordered a gift for a friends Birthday on Saturday 3/5/16 and I ordered it because NM's website promised it would be there on 3/4. I received an email on 3/2 with a fedex tracking that should it would be there on 3/4. This email was send out on 3/2. I waited around all day on Friday 3/4 the order never came and I did NOT receive an email indicating the date would change at all. Finally after waiting all day into the night of 3/4 I decided to track the package with fedex, only to find out the date was changed to MONDAY 3/7 Monday. NM did NOT provide an explanation as to why the Package would not arrive on the date they promised. Their website clearly gives customers exact delivery dates, so most people will order with the perception that they will receive their purchase items on the promised date only to find out the dates are wrong. I called Customer service and no one could explain to me why the date changed. The person on the call was provided no assistance and was rude. They had the nerve to offer me 10 % off for this HUGE inconvienience! I told them they need to change their false delivery dates advertisement. The whole reason I decided to make the purchase was because of the promised date. I now have to purchase a gift elsewhere because this gift will NOT be on time. I am now inconvenienced and will have to go into the store to return the item! Going online to make a purchase is supposed to be an convenience and now because of the false dates on their website I have to wait days for the delivery only to drive to a store wait in a line to return an item I no longer need. This false advertisement has made them lose a sale. Please take down your delivery dates because they are false. NM I am completely disappointment, inconvenience NM has caused me. I truly expected a successful purchase and good customer service in which I received NEITHER from NM... People BEWARE-- DO NOT count on the delivery dates on their website because the are FALSE!"

"The most terrible online shopping experience that I ever have. Terrible customer service. Cancelled my orders without any notification, delayed the shipping of the order that I have paid for second day shipping method without any notification. Every time I tried to connect with the customer service representatives they did nothing to help with the issues but only apologized for my inconvenience."

"Terrible ordering experience. Terrible post-order/post-delivery customer service. Terrible attempts to rectify the problem.

Ordered a pair of Louboutin Pigalle Pumps in Red on 12/31/14. Received the shoes in "multi" color 4 days later. Called Neiman Marcus customer service telephone number to inform them of the error and was told that although they no longer had the correct shoe in their warehouse, it was in stock at a store in San Diego and that the shoe would be shipped to me the following morning. I was also told that I'd receive a follow up phone call the next morning.

The follow up phone call never occurred, and 16 days after the original telephone conversation, I called Neiman Marcus back in order to follow up on this order only to find that the shoes were never sent from San Diego. After escalating the phone call to a "manager" (Jane W.), my only recourse is a gift card to reorder "a different item" from Neiman Marcus.

Having been subject to such a horrendous experience with them and their "customer service" (I've honestly been treated better at discount stores like Target), what makes you think I'd ever give them the opportunity to have my business again, even taking Neiman's gift card bribe into consideration? Absolutely absurd and ludicrous!

"Absolute worst customer service! One would expect better service from a high end retailer. Ordered boots via two day shipping. Contacted them today to see if it shipped. "We don't ship on weekends". But today is Monday, do you ship on Mondays? "It may or may not ship, I can't tell". Are they kidding me?!!! I will never shop this store again. no apology from customer svce rep no attempt to help in any way."

"Customer service is sooo poor. I orderded a sweater and didn't receive shipping confirmation e-mail for few days. I contacted the customer service three times and first two times they were saying it would be shipped shortly but I never received it. When I contact them third time I made it 2 day express shipping and agreed to pay $15 more for shipping and next day they sent me an e-mail that the order was cancelled because the merchandise no longer available. It was a Chritmas gift and they cancelled it at last minutes !!! WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER !!! "

"Horrible experience!

I ordered a wallet for my girlfriend's Christmas present and 3 days after I made the order it was canceled without my consent! The online chat service did nothing but apologize for the inconvenience. I've never had this happen to me before on any other website. Do not order from this website.
