"I had a positive experience with normancamera.com. I purchased the Canon GL2 from this site. The only problems I ran into were from processing my payment. I forgot to notify my bank before putting my charge through. Also, my daily limit would not allow me to make this purchase. I request a temporary increase and it was granted. I ordered the camera Friday, Sept 30. It was paid and shipped October 4th. And this morning, ahead by one hour, my baby arrived!
This merchant is fair and efficient. I didn't get any sales calls. I got the camera I ordered. It was simply, fast, and service was good. I would highly recommend this merchant. "
"My new Canon Elura 90 camcorder was $504.00, which was $5 less than the pricewatch/pricegrabber listed price. Their price was within a few dollars of the lowest store. I trusted them because their feedback was so high.
Shipping was free. They use FedEx, which is much, much better on packages than UPS, who like to crush everything. The camera got to Kentucky from Michigan in 2 days. They also provided a tracking number. They used foam peanut packing on the top, bottom and sides of the double-box shipping (retail box inside a bigger box). Most places don't put peanuts on the bottom, which means your stuff takes the full brunt of any drops.
They were the only one of 3 stores to properly identify a 16MB memory card (another said 8MB, while one did not mention the memory card). The Canon box does not mention the MB size, so Norman Camera goes the extra megabyte to make sure they properly identify the contents. :)
Overall EXCELLENT store. I called ahead to confirm that the camera was in stock, as listed on the website."
"I recently purchased my Minolta Maxxum 7D online through Norman and everything went smoothly. I had previously purchased the same camera from Dbuys.com and got a defective product with bad customer service.
Norman Camera's pricing was very competitive and what I liked was that their Better Business Bureau report was clean. They were also one of a few distributors acutally listed on Konica Minolta's website as authorized online dealers. A very comforting thought.
After having gone through 2 stores to get my product, my advice would be to stay away from the NYC camera shops who don't treat customers with a lot of respect, regardless of how much money you are spending. If you have to pay just a little more for the product or shipping it's probably worth it.

"I used Norman Camera because it had the best price for the camera I wanted combined with positive reviews. (I trusted the bad reviews at Reseller and avoided those companies.) *Immediate phone contact with a live person *No attempt to upsell *Said item was out-of-stock but expected in 4 days & it would ship then *Item shipped in 4 days *email notification with tracking #"
"I was in the market for a new lens and the place I normally buy my equipment from was on backorder. Norman Camera not only had it in stock but it was at the same price! Excellent service and it arrived sooner than expected. I highly recommend them and will be using them in the future!"
"Good Price, courteous service and prompt delivery."
"I am extremely pleased with my purchase and the great customer service I received. I made the purchase on a Thursday, and got my item on Friday--from Michigan to Georgia! The next-day shipping charge was a bit pricey, but it is one of the lease expensive compared to others. I also would have appreciated the rebate form being included. Aside from those two "complaints", I am highly pleased. Thanks for a great shopping experience! "
"Prices are high, but knowledgeable sales people, they shipped when they said they would, it arrived when they said it would, they had FedEx email me the tracking number, and the merchandise is top quality."
"Best price, photo expertise, fast shipping. No problems."
"AWESOME, is the best word to describe this recent transaction.
To start, I was looking for a camcorder and after reading reviews and understanding the features & quality I was looking, for I decided on the Canon Optura 30.
I called Norman Camera on several occasion, speaking to different people each time, and every conversation was professional, all my questions were answered and there was NO pressure to buy anything.
I called Canon to verify that Norman Camera was a “authorized” distributor, which they are (this was VERY important because there was a $100.00 rebate on the camera, IF it was purchased from an authorized dealer.)
So, I ordered the camera on Tuesday for the listed price of $568, and FREE shipping. It was delivered on Friday by Fedex. Everything arrived as promised and in working order. Unfortunately the LCD display had ONE (1) bad pixel :o(
I called Norman Camera, and spoke to Brian. I explained the problem and he immediately issued me a Return Code without any hesitation. Brian stated that as soon as they receive the original Camcorder they would ship out a replacement. So it was off to Fedex to send it back, this was on Friday (by the way, Norman Camera reimbursed me for the return shipping). Fedex said delivery would be on Thursday so I called Norman camera around 3:00 pm Thursday and spoke to Eric in the shipping department who informed me that they did receive my return. Eric then stated that a replacement would be sent out that night. Later that day I received an e-mail with a new Fedex tracking number for the replacement Camcorder.
I received the Camcorder on Tuesday as promised and everything was perfect.
Thanks Norman Camera for a wonderful on-line experience!

"My experience with Andy Thompson at Norman camera was very positive. He was able to educate me on product, answer questions and deliver product in a timely fashion. I will be a repeat customer!"
"I bought a Nikon D-100, a Tamron lens and Hoya filter from Norman Camera and was very, very satisfied with the service I got. I've been reading the horror stories that people had with some of the discount camera stores in New York and that made me leery of buying my camera online. I looked around for a reputable camera store in Reseller Ratings and saw the great reviews on Norman Camera and gave them a call. I spoke to Kelly and asked her if the cameras they sold were grey market, what they came with, were they covered by US warranty, etc. She answered all my questions and didn't pressure me into buying any additional "accesories", so I placed my order on December 20 and was told I wouldn't reveive it till the end of the week. Well I got my order on the December 22nd, 2 days earlier than they said, well in time for Christams. Bottom line, these guys are great and I would buy from them again."
"I received very good service from responses to questions about the camera, it's availability, and shipping. I received it two days before it was promised. There was no pressure to buy added items. I would reccomend doing business with them without any hesitation what-so-ever. "
"Year after year, camera after camera, these guys are the absolute best. I called to get on the waiting list for the new Canon 20D the day after it was announced. They shipped to me literelly the same day they received their shipment. Of course they didn't charge my card until the time of shipment. After I got the camera I decided I needed the battery grip (this order). Called and found that they had a generous supply on order and that they'd ship to me as soon as they got them in. Just like always, they did EXACTLY what they committed to do. Got the grip today. No follow up on my part required.
I've been buying cameras and lenses from them every year for the past 5 years. I always pre-order, they always ship the moment it arrives - they never miss. I can't imagine buying any place else."
"Norman Camera's email to provide my tracking information asked me to share my experience here, but I would have done so anyway since I find merchant reviews to be invaluable. My experience with Norman Camera was the wasy it is supposed to be. They were the only merchant I could find that had the Canon EF-S 17-85 IS lens listed as in stock. I ordered in on the web at around 11:30PM with some suspicion that it might not really be in stock based on the fact that literally no one else had it. I paid for Fed Ex ground shipping (about $10). The following day, I received an email that the lens had shipped; this email included a tracking number which became active on the Fed Ex site at 5pm. The lens arrived unopened in perfect condition, as advertised with USA warranty and booklet, three business days later. Also, the return policy is 30 days (with restocking fee where applicable), whereas many other reputable online dealers offer only 14 days. Unless there is a significant price advantage to shopping elsewhere, I will do all my subsequent business with Norman Camera. Highest recommendation."
